I really don't think there was even that many at it but I've underestimated a few games this season it seems

Judging from the Soccer Republic highlights it looked like about 700-800 I'd say. Assuming there weren't too many more out in the rain.

Attendance at the RSC - 468

I'd make the assumption the above was the attendance between Blues and Wexford.

From the clips on soccer republic it's hard to see how the figure was anything more than 800. Looked a dreadful evening weather wise, but the main stand appeared less than 1/2 full and any area camera facing looked quite sparsely attended.

I'm sure the weather was a big factor in the crowd.

Yeah it's a lot harder to judge than usual coz everyone was right at the very back of the stand to stay out of the rain but if the club says its 1000 il roll with it

Cork's attendance drops by over 4,000 since the bumper crowd who turned out for the visit of the Champions last week. Is this a record fall in attendance?

Very drastic and disappointing drop in attendance.. if the torrential rain that was falling all day continued then I'd understand but the rain stopped around 3 hours before kickoff. I would've been happy with 4000. Just shows what losing a big game in this league does, the bandwagoners jump off. Letting a 2 goal lead slip was just as disappointing but at least we got the late goal to win it.

Shelbourne v Cabinteely - 391. That's shocking.

Not really. Shels have had a difficult start, especially at home. Our crowd would be similar if we'd done the same.

nigel-harps1954

But, you'd imagine Cabinteely would have brought a decent enough crowd up with them. It's only the other side of the city, that'd be the difference in Harps and that game.

For what it's worth, a bit of a drop in Finn Park tonight too, probably around 750 or 800 there. Bit of rain in the evening didn't help matters.

The "shocking" terminology amuses me on this forum sometimes Nigel.
I can't believe that someone who follows this league would be overly surprised at any attendance figure unless it was in the higher brackets.
Won't be too long until 400 will be coming to the showgrounds to watch us by the looks of it.

Decent turnout given the rumours that it had been potponed!
Much more organised from Limerick. They deserved a point.

A drop of 4,000 is very significant and very unusual, but so was the capacity of 6,900 v Dundalk. That was never going to be sustained, and it was match no one locally was going to miss. To be fair Cork have another home game on Monday night.

In saying that I'm sure they were very disappointed with just under 3k last night, still better than most other sides mind.

Awful attendances up there this year, how can ye keep surviving with crowds like that. (That's not a dig it's incredible ye are still going with attendances that bad)

Not saying there was way more, but there was definitely more. Our attendances are never accurate. Season tickets ate not counted. That is for sure. Most people dont get given tickets either so i don't know how they are coming up with these figures. Easily 300 there anyways.

Extratime have estimated 1,400 in Longford tonight.

www.dundalkfc.com has '1,000 (estimate)'

Hard to make a call as it was my first visit to the newly developed ground, also not sure what the main stand holds but it was just over half full. Not sure also how many away fans, looked 400+

Longford fans will know better, but I would find it hard to believe there was over 1k.

I heard Roddy could still get it. Supposedly that Waterford radio station that announced Roddy has taken over down there has jumped the gun and that Roddy hasnt actually agreed on paper yet.
Who knows though

Why would they eat the season tickets ?

Because unseasoned don't taste as good.

Season tickets with a big pinch of salt. Half-bake and finish in cooked books. Skim off the top layer in case it looks too rich, and add a good dollop of fudge instead. Serve with a modicum of smugness and wait for the bellyaching to begin.

yeah I doubt anyone expects us to match that attendance this season unless were in the hunt at the business end of the season.. under 3k was disappointing but yeah still a healthy attendance compared to most.. think it will be lower again on Monday

Would have said around 300-350 away fans as Rovers brought around 400-500 and it filled both sections whereas there was still plenty of space there last night. Stand is always hard to gauge as its so high but I'd say 1200 is right

Noticed a good few Dlk fans in the main stand when we scored, but your right, I saw photo of rovers visit and they did take up both sections. 350 max away prob right last night.

Just something we thought of last night, and I'm sure it's been discussed locally. As you completely by pass the town to go to the match, this reduces the chance of the floating fan deciding at the last min or late in the day to go to the match.

Would a club coach service from the town centre work? to try and entice more local support?

I think it was before my time but maybe the lads can correct me, I think that's something that was tried for a while but never took off. Personally I prefer the out of town approach as it means no traffic and it keeps the scumbags hanging around town away.

It was tried for a while years back in the early Kenny era I believe but for whatever reason it wasn't deemed a success. Financial reasons most likely. Not sure if it'd make much difference but you never know I suppose.

When marketed properly JP's bus does be a great success, for the league winning game last season it took 3 runs to get everyone to the ground.

Just arrived at the stadium for tonight's game. Very quiet around so I'm anticipating a low attendance. Not helped by the fact it's raining and very cold even if it's a Monday game.
