what are corduff like?

The Bit O'Red
17/02/2008, 1:26 PM
Not sure, they're only in the 2nd tier of the AUL though and the bookies were making them the biggest outsiders last week although this might change now with a home draw.

I would feel that Manor have beaten better teams than Corduff this season and should have nothinng to fear. It's a great chance for them to make it through to the semi's.

what are corduff like?

On their day Corduff can play outstanding football.

They need a little more consistency and to lose the little bit of naivety they sometimes display.

I'd disregard the division they are playing in as they would easily compete in the AUL Premier A.

The home draw is a huge advantage to them.

They've been knocking on the door for a few seasons and this could be their year, it would be perilous of Manor to ignore the quality they have or to take them for granted based on bookies odds. (How many bookies have actually seen them play?)

Revised Odds:

http://odds.bestbetting.com/football/european-leagues/rep--of-ireland/fai-junior-cup/winner

Generous odds between the only 2 bookies offering odds!

Does anyone know what will happen with qualifying for the FAI Senior Cup?

With the new A-League there are 3 extra teams into the 2nd round so that means only 7 places for non-league teams. FAI probably don't know themselves!

That would be the Manor Rangers "lifer", affectionately known as "Rav", as in the silver haired Fabrizio Ravanelli.

Some way to win it.

I just got word that kick off for the Corduff game is at 2pm on 2nd March.

Are Manor Rangers players local? wouldn't have thought that town of with a population of 1,158 (597 male- census 2006) would have gone this far! Fair play to you! Never been to MAnorhamilton, whats the underage structure like? Best of luck in the rest of the competition!

The Bit O'Red
23/02/2008, 3:49 PM
That's probably the population of the town alright but as with many provincial towns there's a large hinterland. Players from all over North Leitrim. They play in the Sligo/Leitrim league, the Leitrim bit is literally Manorhamilton as there are no other clubs from Leitrim in the league (although I think that Carrick-on-Shannon have underage teams).

Decent under age structure but Manorhamilton is more a GAA town so the soccer often suffers from that.

The under 18's won the Connaught Cup shield last year or the year before.

Bit O'Red do your own dirty work without looking for a squealer!

Plenty of ways to find out that info without looking for snitches!

And by the way Corduff are an excellently run club and will not play a player if he is under suspension. IF.

was at the killester v balla match i do agree balla keeper was man of the match . i was not to impressed with the so called dream team (killester) imo very hard to see 6 international players on the pitch apart from the 2 centre forwards who both looked like super players.also i hope someone from killester can clear something up for me when portmarnock played pike they had a guy playing up front for them who looked exactly like the number 14 you brought on i hope he was just his twin cause otherwise you could be in serious trouble..

Yea, as far as I'm aware they are twins. Killester haven't played for weeks in a competitive game so they didn't do too bad!

You might be confusing a fella known as Wanchope with a midfielder from Killester. There is a resemblence.

Portmarnock and Killester dont mess around like that.

We played Killester two years ago in the last 32 and they beat us 2-1. We were hoping they would play a keeper who played with Malahide in the intermediate.

We learned a lesson that day on a number of fronts. Succesful clubs rarely if ever mess up when it comes to rules and organisation. The second was Killester didn't panic away from home and stood firm and thats why they are doing so well. organisation.

I noted Clonmel town through to the SF of the munster senior cup. Dont write them off in the junior.

Was talking to an old St Michaels player on Saturday and he told me that when Michael's last won the FAI in 1974, they beat Castlebar in Castlebar in the q/finas. So if omens are anything to go by, its Saints who will be lifitng the FAI this year.
