Sorry guys I took it up wrong. :)
We played Portmarnock in the junior cup last year, they dont have the team they used to. We lost to them with the help of the officials last year (away tie) we had two clear cut penalties disallowed.
They are a tall physical team, dont conceed free kicks around the area, that is how they score most of their goals, they are not the quickest at the back either.
Maybe its a good sign, I will do a couple of lines (the Lotto!) on saturday night. You never know.:D

Leveller you keep on trotting out this rubbish about officials costing you the game last season. Its absolute nonsense mate, get over it. You were beaten fair and square on the day as your players admitted afterwards.
As for the advice you've given, lets just say I hope its taken to heart!
We are one of the smallest teams you will ever play against.

as i said in the limerick forum, pike will be favourites with home advantage, portmarnock not as good as they used to be but it will be close. no doubt i will be hopped on for making this statement but pike have bottled it big time in the last few years in the fai especially at home

Was wondering does anyone no Much about St peters athlone..
we (kinsale) played peters a couple a years ago up there, took a whole w/e to get there in a bouncey bus, not a bad team but think they fancied themselves a bit too much, they used ta play in the lsl i think and had just moved to junior league, thought they'd be winning the fai easy ! we went ahead twice only to lose 3-2, had a man sent off for dissent to a home ref, and an og with 5 mins to go killed us, to be fair they prob deserved the win but we felt robbed by the ref, same ole story as when you travel away from home
the pitch is actually a bog (peat everywhere) so if ye're playing this w/e then bring peatcutting shoes with studs on, it'll be very soft if its been raining this week
they are quick on the wings and play down the sides, big lad up front gotta couple with his head, sharp enuf in front of goal
who are ya playing with ? do ye fancy yer chances ??
besta luck either way
we'll all have a better idea of who to look out for when the next draw is made
looking forward to all the limerick banter after the w/e lads, keep it up, very entertaining for us all in cork boy

honest answer the hatred, i dont like that word, the dislike, i know the grammar is not the best, but it comes from a number of sources, 1) your manager.... i always got on ok wit the man but by god a lot... and i mean a lot of people really do not like him, 2) the clubs " perceived" arrogance, every pike man you spoke 2 last season gave it the billy big ******, yet the boro won the league and cup double, yet any pike man will ask who won the munster junior cup??? ill ask who beat who 3 times!! then ill ask where is the underage structure, admittedly i dont know enought about this area but what i will say is when i was a young fella pike had a " dream team" poached by pa mullally at 15 and 16 level and nothing else, and to this day it appears the same

Moyville 2 1 Star Aet
Aishling 1 - 3 Regional
Balla 1 - 2 Kilmallock
Pike 1 - 3 Portmarnock
Moyville 0 - 2 Star
Heard Balla are missing 6/7 of the first team, Robert Brock, Jamie O' Sullivan, Earls & Spud (obviously suspended) Frank lee, Gareth Ryan and Paudie Hickey, all injured except Gareth Ryan as his missus due a baby. Balla could struggle if this is correct. I think Star could shock everyone and get the result. Regional to strong for AA, and Pike carrying to many players to beat Portmarnock (ie) mitchell and finucane. Only my opinion..But best of luck to all Limk teams.

Aisling - Regional should be a good game. Regional beat them already this
season i think 2-1 so prob favourites but i think aisling are good cup team.
Balla should beat kilmallock simple as, especially @ home..
Pike - Portmarnock hard to call in fairness.. Pens

I just quoted myself there for you...I honestly don't believe there to many good teams about..Wesport(although I haven't seen them play in a year),Ballymun,Carrick to name a few.
And to back that and prove my point moreso,Carew who took Pike also to Peno's the week before last got hockey'ed 6-1 by Wembley on Sunday, its simply all on the day.

Just a quick one to say all the best to Pike in the remainder of the Competition. Not a great game yesterday and both teams can play better I am sure. Penalties are always a lottery but we've had our share of luck with them over the years so no complaints - Lady Luck didnt smile on us this time.
The Pike players and club men and women are a very decent bunch of real football people and were gracious in victory as well as laying on a great spread afterwards so thanks Lads for the hospitality and hopefully we can return the compliment up in Dublin some day. Chatting to your lads after, I was amazed that you haven't won the cup in your long history, we'll be keeping an eye on your scores for the rest of the competition so Good Luck.

Results for Limerick Teams
Aisling 2-3 Regional
Balla ?-? Kilmallock
Pike 1-1 Portmarnock, Pike 4-3 on Pens
Moville 6-1 Star Rovers
Was at the AA V Regional game, very entertaining from both teams, AA 2-0 up at half time against the run of play, Regional pushed forward second half as they had to ended up scoring three but could have been more but for saves by Gilmartin, could caught on the counter once or twice but over the course of the ninety they deserved the win. Good game to watch though fair play to both teams.
Anyone know how Balla v Kilmallock went?

cheers hoopy, your well wishes saw us win !
we came thru unscathed, beat balally 3-0, they set their stall out to keep it tight and gave us a good game for 45 mins, we scored early in the 2nd half and went on to win comfortably albeit without playing to our best, will need to pick up the pace to compete in the next round, happy to be in the hat tho, we have strengthed in some areas and have a bit of work to do in others but on a whole i think we've a stronger team than you saw 2 years ago, we've fingers crossed for a good draw and a bit more in the tank, ya never know on the day, besta luck to balally with the rest of their year, decent bunch of lads who gave a great performance in difficult conditions, we'll take a home draw again if anyone in the fai is tuning in,
anyone got the other results from the draw, i've 10 names inthe hat for the last 32, Ballynanty Rvs, Carrick, Moyville, St Michaels FC, Kinsale, Manorhamilton, Newtown FC, Pike Rovers, West Utd, Clonmel Town
the munster big guns all came thru, anyone else from up the country fill in the rest
