Was talking to an old St Michaels player on Saturday and he told me that when Michael's last won the FAI in 1974, they beat Castlebar in Castlebar in the q/finas. So if omens are anything to go by, its Saints who will be lifitng the FAI this year.

it was Ballina they beat so nostalgia out the window then !!!

Just realised the 2 players you are talking about are Terry Corbally of Killester and Decky Hardy of Porto. Both tall centre forwards going a bit thin on top. Similar style players as well alright. Still you must be a bit green if you think a club like killester would play a player who has already played in the competition for another club, especially a rival like Portmarnock and in as high profile a game as against Pike!

By the way it was Killesters 2nd string that got beaten on pennos in the Leinster Junior by Greystones, there were 2 first team players involved who were coming back from injury. KILLESTER WILL WIN THE JUNIOR CUP THIS YEAR AGAIN. Believe the Doctor.

Are Inchicore in the FAI junior cup still, it's a brilliant acheivement if they are, St John Bosco reached the final last year, both are very close to each other.

ya but it would have been greystones second team also as they have a senior team so when you take that into account it might remove the aura of invincibility that is around them

killester will win fai again this year ,i have watched alot of games this year and they are streets ahead of anything i saw.they can play, mix it and adapt to being a goal up or down as their always seems to be a very good plan b,

Inexile - surprised at you with a naive comment like that! Second Team -v- Second Team proves nothing and doesn't take away from First Teams of either club.

Killester targets are (1) Retain FAI junior -guarantee place in history for Graydon (2) Retain AUL Premier A - incentive trip to Japan this year I think.

Leinster Junior and the rest are a distant 3rd priority.

The Aul really put the other organisations in the shade when it comes to looking after the winning teams, Killester went to South Africa , previous trips abroad have also been excellent, also the Aul premier managers went over to Wolves for a few "sessions", brilliant advert for their set-up

Carrick beat Redcastle on penalties.Good match.Carrick were the best team and probably deserved to win.Dont think they will go much further.
Good luck to them and i hope they win it.
As for Redcastle its time now to concentrate on the more important games ahead. They are still in all of their local competitions.Good luck.

Corduff 2-0 Manorhamilton

Full time results!

Solid game, good attendance, Corduff worth the win.

Manor had done their homework but lacked the guile to break down home side.

Home side were always in command and could have been two up at the break.

Great decision by Corduff manager to make such an early change to his side confusing the Manor game plan.

He took off a winger 20 mins in and from then on the visitors were on the back foot with neither the midfield or defence sure of who should take uo the sub.

Great Manor Support, Corduff fans out-numbered about 3 or 4 to 1 at home??? Two goals in the last 10 mins for Corduff including an injury time penalty. Overall, Corduff were worth their victory though. Best of luck to them in the semi's.

Killester with a resounding 4 nil win, could have been 7. Starting to ramp up now, still nobody capable of putting it up to them. Shame.

Great win for Corduff. Could we have an all dublin AUL final AGAIN?

Are the teams outside the pale really that poor right now?

I wouldn't be so sure of this. Remember there are 3 extra eL clubs this season with the new A-League. These teams will presumably get into the 2nd round so I'm not sure how they'll work getting 7 non-league teams into it.

In most cases some teams will be given a bye to make up whatever number is needed.

I am well aware of the 'A' League.

I would not assume or presume they will compete in this years competition.

Have the three new clubs, Mervue, Salthill and Tullamore already taken part in the qualification rounds via the FAI Intermediate / Junior Cups and failed to progress to the last 16 and 4 respectively? Almost 99.9% certain they have.

Killester are more than capable of mixing it physically if necessary. Have no fear of that, they are very very tough boys, Coolock and Finglas heads for the most part. Will not be found wanting if it turns into a scrap!

C'mon TF - you’re not living up to your tag – what has realism got to do with being a fan. Seriously though I agree you wouldn’t be putting anyone’s house - let alone your own - on Town winning on Sunday (especially if you’d seen the way their defence struggled with the might of the Old Bridge’s ‘electric’ attack last Sunday) but there is a lot to be said for home advantage especially considering how long it took Killester to break down what I think was a weaker defence last year on their patch.
I think the comments about ‘Town kicking anyone up & down the pitch may be in part based on a certain central defender who played last year but has since left the club (no comment). Having said that there’s nothing wrong with getting ‘stuck in’ which will be required. Just a comment on the Complex – would it not be a fairly simple job and in my opinion worthwhile to put up a temporary rope / fence around the inside of the running track to allow supporters get in a bit closer to the pitch – not since the ‘Glory Year’ of ’94 has there been any real atmosphere for ‘Town’s home games. Every bit helps!

I am just being realistic, our defence is not strong enough to win the FAI but this is cup football and who knows what will happen.
I was listening to Tipp FM on Monday night and Town's PRO Maurice Walsh was on it, personally I don't like the man after his f**k up last year with the MJC amongest other things ( for which he should have resigned) but he is an excellent radio analyst and he did make a very good point about last season. Town after not having played well got within 5 minutes of Killester. Also he did say and it is true that people have written off Town but they forget their record at home and against Dublin teams. He finished by saying he was upset at people writing Town off and that if Killester aren't at the top of their game, that Town will beat them, people forget that Town are a good side.
As I say, Walsh isn't a good PRO but he is excellent on the radio not just with Soccer, just wish he would stick to that and let sombody else take over his role in the club
