ive no hatred for pike, think there the best team in town by a mile, with balla there closest rivals. do you not think mitchell, purcell, enright and mcgarry would be better than when conny includes himself?? you must be having a laugh if you think conny should be gettin on that team

Its funny because its a sunday league game, played by ameteurs yet so many take it so seriously, lighten up lads.
(Waiting on See's it to flame(Just for you,Flaming is the hostile and insulting interaction between Internet users. Flaming usually occurs in the social context of a discussion board, and is usually not constructive, does not clarify a discussion, and does not persuade others. Sometimes, flamers attempt to assert their authority, or establish a position of superiority over other users. Other times, a flamer is simply an individual who believes he or she carries the only valid opinion. This leads him or her to personally attack those who disagree)...again)
^^^Just in case you didn't know what it ment mate, didn't seem like you did last time..
On topic,Conny plays left back because of a lack of left sided options for Pike atm,They played McGarry centre mid a few weeks back and I and many others are of the opinion thats his best position. Its fairly well known Pike are looking for a quality Keeper and/or Left/right backs

boro weren't given the match card until after the game finished, and they refused to fill it in. they have no objection, they're as much to blame as the referee, card should have been filled oout before the game anyway.
Boro could end up in trouble themselves for not fillin it in when they were given it
as i said i was not at the match and i dont know anything about match cards being filled in or not but i know that there is a rule for the junior cup that clearly states that the match card has to be filled in by both teams prior to the match starting...it is the ref's responsibility to enforce the rule..had a ref refuse to start a fai tie over this before.
if this is the objection then it would be techincal and as we know clubs have won objections before on technicalities.

new keeper and right back? Pike are looking for a left full. As is every other club in town as there is a serious lack of quality players in that position. Conny still does a good job at left full. David McNamara and Paddy Mitchell must be the best in their positions in town. So it would be very hard to get better than them.

We all know that most mathes are started and the card is not filled out.
Its true though that they could win it on a techniality.Only time will tell.

I cannot see that the result would be reversed, but as with technicalities, it might be Voided...i.e replay..
Objection is in no way a reflection on Fairview and i imagine it has more to do with the official.

Well the match kicked off about 12 minutes late as the Boro didn't physically get to the Fairgreen until 10.30!!! I'd imagine this had something to do with it. But if what is being said is the case then i'd like to think Fairview would not get punished for the ref forgetting to get the filled out card back off Boro. Also funny how the Boro, apparently knowing this rule, kept quiet throughout the game! (That is of course if what is being said is true). Clutching at straws if you ask me.

this is what i have been told
(1) boro did not get card untill after final whistle
If the fai junior council deem fit to remove this objection(if there is an objection) fair play but your club didnt even accept their decision when you were involved.. so lets review your clubs TECHNICAL OBJECTION from a few years back.
did you think that geraldines should have been punished (originally given walkover) ?
also why did fairview not inform geraldines that their facility was TECHNICALLY incorrect, when they were well aware of this. The measured the pitch on the saturday.. ??

why is it that conny does start himself?? why not play mcgarry at left full and enright and purcell as centre halves. much better defence than when he includes himself. he looks well past it these days
enright and purcell are too similar to play together in the centre of defence. What you esentially have is two centre halfs and no sweaper. They're both very good at what they do well but mc garry has one of the best football brains in town

have to disagree there, IMO there's quite a number of quality full backs in town. dee ryan, mick aherne, mark sheehan, dave dunphy to name a few...........

What happened a few years ago with the Dines pitch was a farce....and the majority of players showed their disapproval publicly. Management promptly suffered the consequences. I dont think Geraldines should have been punished, and that the game should have been played and whoever wins wins, both teams playing in the same conditions.
What would have made it even worse would have been if the game went ahead, the view lost, but then appealed and won.
Such is my point with sundays fixture. Both teams took to the pitch and a fair game of football was played, with fairview deserving to go through. I'm sorry but any time I see teams afterwards looking to get back in through technicalities (apart from illegally registered players) it makes me sick!! I realise big clubs want whats best for them but there is a time when you just hold your hand up and take defeat graciously.

I personally agree with nearly all that you say but once a precedent is set it is very hard to put the genie back in the bottle..
"What would have made it even worse would have been if the game went ahead, the view lost, but then appealed and won."
that was what happened.. Gearldines were awarded match. fairveiw objected and won replay.. FACT..

there hasn't been a quality new keepers in limerick in awhile, the best keeper around theses days is still Gordon above with Carew and Bennis a few years back, bar that there hasn't been many around..Eoin Lynch too a few years back..that's about it,who's the best young keeper about these days?JJ Hartigan showed some potential as a school boy a few years back..Bar that its been bleak.
Your opinions on the keepers now?

mark sheehan, danny hanley, paul lonergan, trevor higgins.........all quality left backs
in my opinion there isn't a better keeper in town than David McNamara up in pike at the moment. Can be prone to the odd lapse in concentration but overall a very good keeper, has a lot of experience now and is still young so will only get better. Gordon is gone past it at this stage.
Conny is still better than those left full's.

Aisling have signed a new keeper, Aaron Gilmartin, looks good. Aisling also had a cracking keeper a few seasons ago, Ben Spicer, went to LOI after one season.

Aidan Hurley and Martin Philips of Aisling are two of the best I have seen in that position of late, and thats not being biased in any way.

Agreed, played with him in UL for a year, best keeper the junior league has seen in a while (by some distance) if you ask me,sound bloke too.
Would also agree with Sheahan and Higgins been the two best left fulls at the minute having played with both also.

The player you are refering to played with Pike B 3 weeks previous, and had been registered 17 days before last weeks game. From what i heard yesterday boro have no objection in against Fairview but against the referee.

No matter who the objestion is against it was done with the aim of possibly getting the game replayed.

Lisselton rovers have assembled the srongest team in kerry for years and have two current irish junior internationals James sugrue and Steven O Mahony along with David hennessy (ex waterford and cobh) Chris Kerins (ex St Pats and Limerick) Steven Conway (ex limerick) along with 6 kerry u-21 players including Musslim who has scored 17 goals already this season. I reckon they will have a good shot at reaching at least the semi's this year.

most good teams play two up front so i can't see how pike would be looking for a sweeper. McGarry is not a sweeper. A good footballer but his best position is in the middle of the park.
It shows that Pike have great options in most positions. Left back is a problem alright, but from what I have seen conny does very well there. I think he played there in the MJC final last year and did well.

saw cals play last week and they are tasty upfront.. keeper is very small but has fine hands and is very brave.. the 2 fullbacks that i saw play were poor.. imo that is their main weakness, the rest of the team is very solid..

What do you expect when all the big premier sides keep taking all of Mungret's best players. So what's Summerville's excuse because from where I see it ye are no great shakes either. You can harp on all day about winning a 1A double last year but if you're really honest you'll have to admit that the standard in 1A last year and this year is brutal.
