In fairness it's not just this forum, I'd say you could look through any of them and find grievances like that...But you have to remember that football isn't just a game....it's a way of life !!
Good point ;)

i heard he was lobbed on his line,i thought ye might have outside chance against a very good balla team, yer dodgy at the back and yer keeper is a liability but ye should stay up and i think balla will get a good run and probably win the league
lobbed on the line u must be kidding, judging on some of the past posts
the summerville keeper seems to be making more then the odd mistake
this season how come they keep playing him if he is so poor and keeps
costing them points and games..

Maybe you missed the other poster who verified that the "kick in the head and stomach" was way off, maybe I was wrong saying "Rose tinted glasses" it should be more like "blinkers" :D....See...everyone has their own opinion.....
At the end of the day, handbag stuff happens every weekend, every league, every cup competition...Off the ball stuff happens as well, everyone has their own opinion of what "they" saw be it "rose tinted glasses" or "welding goggles"....sher can't we all remember the handbag stuff and off the ball punching in the jansboro game last year....I wonder were posters looking for a "damning" ref report last year....
Looking at the TSDL fixtures I see a re-run of Sunday last's fixture down for two weeks time....Should be interesting....again...Must bring my walking stick to that one...coz clearly I'm blind
Bring the guide dog too, it might enjoy the runabout. With vision like that you must be a shoo-in for a refs job;)

Powers and Ladbrokes dont usually give odds until it reachs the last 32. You might find a local bookie willing to quote before that.

pike were very lucky in their last two games
won in the last minute of extra time against a rebuilding fairview
won on penaltys against carew - could have lost on both occasions

Last 2 fai matches have seen big crowds attend, especially against Fairview, possibly the biggest crowd for a good few years in limerick..
We're playing alright, nothing special, tipping along with the wins,I'd still fancy Pike on home ground to beat most Junior sides about on the day.
And lucky last round? The difference between Limerick teams and rest of the country is that they actually have to play in decent, competitive matches to get into the out of town stages..

Someone sensible explain why Ballanty and ashling annacotty are 3rd(joint second) and 4th favourites...When Pike Rovers(current Munster Junior champions) are 16/1...
Is this real? I seriously doubt it...
And see's it don't tell be because Balla are better than pike,on the decent pitch of Jackman park, pike hockied Balla in the Munster Junior final...

Anyone know anything about St Patricks at 40/1, I can see they beat Galway Hibs and Salthill Devon in the last round, both of which were won on penos. I can see their league form is not great and the strong results are all at home.
Whats their set-up in terms of pitch, club house, general all round set-up?

Absolutely right.I would go so far as to say that it is totally unfair on the Limerick clubs because of the higher standard of junior football, albeit due to the lack of intermediate football there.I know I would get no support for this but their top 4 premier clubs should be seeded within their local area early rounds. But then its ironic that of the 5 limerick sides who got out into the open round now Pike get Portmarnock!!!!Thats cup football.

That was last year balla are a much improved outfit since then from what i hear ,added a few new players aswell, Odds are probably going on pikes few
lucky performances against fairview and carew pk ,and the fact that pa moloney is starting might make the odds a bit bigger 2,

Yes I’ve seen that alright, strange, those good wins were home, could this be a home ref thing or am I being paranoid?
What are the Galway referees like in terms of fairness?

We are a second tier side in the AUL Dublin. Blanchardstown based. Reached the last 32 three years running. Knocked out by Everton down in cork 3-2, knocked out by killester two seasons ago 1-2, and beaten in dundalk 1-0 (we'' say no more about that one, still boils the blood:D).
Looking forward to our trip. Dont think it'll happen until January though.

Pike have beaten 2 of the better teams in limerick so far(in fairview and carew) and Ashling/balla have beaten whom?
That said I'm gonna see if I can get the paddy power odds today,I'll probably take pike at 16/1 too...too good to turn down.Didn't know ladbrokes did the fai odds, being an english company and that.

Thats right, were getting there, we have many teams at verious ages and to be honest we would love to get to the last 32 again, but this time home and then get the monster crowd out. Very very unlucky in the last few years.

weeks ago only for them to loose the heads and concede a couple of soft goals late on in the game ,so ye could barely scrape a draw

The last time i was invloved in the FAI junior ( about 10-12 years ago ) we got to the last 32 and got knockout in extra time at home. Absoulte killer, we'd knocked out Ballymun the round before when they had 3-4 junior internationals in the side and were domination the AUL. Great feeling to get to the later stages all right.

The key to this competition is the last 32, because if you can make it by home refs and hard away teams, the last 16 stage allows you to arrange neutral referees and linesmen.
But lets not talk about that stage yet, im sure any galway team will want to do a dublin team:eek:
