You forgot to mention that they tend to be biased for the home town team, as I'm sure Pike will find out on Sunday.

Heard Pike are without Sniffer and McGarry for Sunday's game v Redcastle, any truth? If so they will be a massive loss for Pike.

That is why I ask as I have heard that the refs in Kilkenny are very biased towards their own teams, but sure maybe that is the same everywhere. If we are good enough, we will win.

I suppose the refs in Limerick/Tipp/etc would be totally 100% neutral??!! its a cup, you get away draws, tough luck! Anyway a good team will leave the ref with nothing to be biased about, by getting on with playing football

Thats fair enough but what if a half decent side comes up against one of the big teams and break their bollax for the whole game, only to lose because they were robbed of a clear peno OR peno given against?? It happens all the time.

sniffer playing football with lim sunday mc garry not sure
With the current rainfall of biblical proportions (or at least Clonmel levels) will the Evergreen v 'Town match go ahead at Evergreen's pitch or failing that be moved to Derdimus Park / Buckley Park. As with all hoeme teams this weekend I'm sure all possibilities will be explored to prevent the loss of home advantage.

Only missing Sniffer who was called up by Limerick senior football team...great timing..

Who will win this one.. there are alot of good players on both side id say it will be a cracking game
If there is a God in heaven and Im fairly sure there is Lisselton will stuff em

you can't get a 1 or 2 week ban its a one or 2 game ban
Its from Munster Council & its definitely a 1 and two week ban respectively for spud and Earls. It means that Spud will miss 1 further game if its on next Sun 20th and Earls 2 games the 20th and 27th. So in total Spud will have served a two match and Earls a three match suspension. Unusual as it is I got this from the Balla secretary.

Anybody know anyhting about Evergreen of Kilkenny? What are the ref's like down there?
There was a sizeable contigent of Clonmel Tn personnel in Thomastown last Sunday so you can ask them about Evergreen.
Regarding the refs if you consult with the contingent above, you will find out that the Kilkenny official last Sunday sent off Evergreen's central mid-fielder.
There will be no favours given by KK officials. There are no more biased than anywhere else.
Looking forward to seeing the 'Town at Evergreen Park today.

Regional were beaten well and truly. The score was 2 nil. Lisselton were better by far.
I felt the Regional management had no idea how to direct their players
apart from shouting at them. A better managment team would have made some very obvious positional changes and counteracted the threat from the Lisselton midfield. The Kerry keeper was an excellent player. Overall in the heel of the hunt you'de have to say the best team won.

great to see pike gone out of it again, yet again they shouwed why they're not godd enough to win it despite all they think of themselves. Now they can concentrate on winning a proper Munster for thenselves if they are able. Great result for ballphehane also beating ballymun!! Any other results from the day surely not many games went ahead then?
Killarney Celtic 1-2 Carrick United AET

Regional utd 0-2 Lisselton Rovers
Regional were on top for most of the first have but created very little against a wel organised lisselton defence.
Lisselton in the second half created far more and scored two good goals. Good to see that it was a fair game becoz most limerick teams who play kerry 1s normally get booted all over thge field
I think any of the big junior teams would find it hard to beat this lot with the quality of players that they have and they shouldnt be under estimated.

avenue (clare) played fairview away in u13 SFAI before christmas. 1 up ref denied them clear pen. they were 3-2 up at ref gave farview every free kick going in last 10 mins. they eventually levelled in last min from dodgy free. from tip off avenue forward tripped by defender, kept his feet and crossed for forward running in to chest it into goal. ref blew whistle to bring it back for free when he saw what outcome was going to be. even 1 r 2 of fairview supporters apologised. tough to take but what can u do!
Wasn't at the pike game yesterday but I've heard from the real pike supporters that Red castle were the better team on the day so for that I wish them the best of luck in the rest of the competition. Shame to see regional knocked out aswell from a limerick perspective but hopefully balla can pull off a shock against killester to keep the limerick flag flying. (as much as it pains me to say it) :) A limerick team as under dogs should almost be favourites at this stage

Davy was on the bench and was brought on at 1-1, 10 mins into the second half.
On the day the pike players didn't perform. The referee was excellent. He made one error (keeper handles the ball outside the box during a 1 v 1 and gives a free kick and no cards, Red IMO). On that Redcastle have a good game plan and look very dangerous up front and deserved the win on the day, all the best to them. They will be hard to beat at home.

Do you think this lose will have an impact on the players travelling in from Clare, ie Daryll Eade, David Wall and Phillip Purcell? It's a strange one for Mr. Wall to be dropped is it possible he was carrying an injury?:ball:

anybody got a match report?
Game played on a very narrow pitch which was in a poor condition. Celtic 1 up at half-time and added 3 in the second (John Maughan hat-trick & a peno by Sean McHale). Heard they played OK did what was needed. Refs fair could have two or three more peno's but were comfortable through out. Good result considering Oscar Traynor players Gary Price, Shane Hynes & Ger O'Boyle were unable to travel due to exams & weekend away. Also unable to travel Neil Douglas & Ioseph O'Reilly. Good to see James Minogue back in the side as well as Fintan McHale & Dec Flynn.

having gone from south to most northern point in the last two rounds, odds on Castlebar Celtic must be shorten at this stage, to be one of the fav, to lift the title.
Lets hope they can keep it alive.:)

i don't know. i would be suprised if they did leave. i don't think they joined Pike to 'win an FAI' but to play with a good team and possibly a higher level than where they were (Wall came from Limerick, but is originally from Newtown).
Don't think Davy is carrying an injury, it hasn't happened for him in the last few games, so that is probably why he was dropped.
With Pike still in all local competitions I'd expect the 4 lads to finish the year there at least, but in football you never know..............
