Tomorrow evening folks, two managers are going to lock horns in the biggest derby game of the season. In the red corner is Michael "The Supergaffer" McDonnell against Michael "The Terminator" Dalton in the blue corner. Both are going to unleash a group of 13 year olds with one football. Local and school class pride is at stake. The prize on offer is a second round clash in the Mayo Cup. Expect lots of blood and thunder as only the strongest will come through. The game? Westport United A v Westport United B. Kick off at 7:00 from Milebush Park Astroturf. Be there for the rumble in the jungle!!:D

Any info on Erris Utd? Are they a good side? They can't be bad if they are the only Mayo side left in The FAI Jun Cup :ball:

They are not great this season. They were nearly relegated from the Super League and were knocked out of the Connaught Cup.

Despite the net busting efforts of Gerry and Spiderman, Westport United bowed out of the Junior Cup to St. Peters of Athlone. :(The good news though is that the dream of winning the Connacht Cup is alive and well as United demolished Oranmore 6-3 with the Louisburgh Lion grabbing a hat trick with, Lovejoy, Spiderman and Cam all chipping in with a goal each. United played some champagne football in the first half to submit their Galway rivals to defeat. Away trip to West United and all I can say is "Bring 'Em On!!:D

Just to let you know, boys and girls, Seatown took on Charleville in the SFAI Goodson Cup on Sunday in Dundalk and the word on the street is that Seatown won 3-2 on pens after a 0-0 draw. I hear that Seatown are a well organised team.

It was a setback alright but it is a hump in the road in the medium to long term. Sometimes one has to take a step back to go two forward.;)

Westport United lost in both games. The U.14s lost 2-0 with goals either side of half time. The Galacticos were controversially beaten in the Connacht Cup by West United 4-2 on pens after a 2-2 draw. Cam and Lovejoy got the goals, but the game was marred by controversy.

westport will probably win it alright, can't really see celtic going far as dec is using it for trying out players for the beggining of the a league and we are really struggling for players sunday! best of luck to westport though on sunday, ye should beat them, we were the better team and deserved to win on the day against them, they're a dirty team though so get stuck in hard on them!!

Heard in a pub the other evening that there is meant to be a good signing for the first team and he's a non-national. Don't have further details and I'm not sure whether the story is authenticated.

i agree, fair play to westport and good win but we did not receive half the congragulations and well done when we entered the league of ireland on this forum, as said, good win but did we not deserve as much credit for entering loi???
also, westport hardly put mayo on the map for winning a conn cup. they did when they won the junior cup but people around the country hardly take notice if this win
