Home to Pats, not great. Unless they bring a big crowd which they probably won't. Longford wouldn't have much of a novelty factor.

Is at least 500 enough? Looking for more too :D

I've watched matches here and have trained on it with my kids team. Have no idea how they would fit 1000 people there. There is a small flat standing area that runs at the side of the pitch. Maybe they'll put some small terracing on that. People can watch from outside as well, but still can't fathom 1000.

Minimum required for the cup is 500 people. Would presume it'll hold that. Supposed to be space for 100 Harps fans in an away area so they're not expecting a huge home support anyway.

Much appreciated, yes. I'm sure ye'll get as many tickets as you want. I guess it helps that Pats are going well.

Only reason I can see de town not giving pat's whatever they want ticket wise is if going beyond a certain number increases their security costs substantially. The gardai in longford are known to get excited when they hear of a big crowd coming

The FAI Cup should attract good crowds at many of the weekend fixtures.

On Friday Bohs v Shels should be a sell out.
Treaty v Cork City, a big following from Cork going to Limerick.
Both Munster Senior league clubs Rockmount and Avondale will fancy their chances at Kerry and Wexford and will have big away support too.
Kilbarrack have to cater for over 100+ Finn Harps fans travelling to their ground in Raheny.

Saturdays game between St. Michaels v Waterford is close to a derby fixture and Cooke Park should be well attended by both sets of fans.

On Sunday the big game should attract a decent crowd at Oriel for the clash of Dundalk v Shamrocks!
St Pats have over 500+ travelling to Longford for their away fixture.

Plenty of attractive fixtures and plenty of games for a possible upset!

I think it's a requirement to have Garda presence for crowds over 1,000 anyway. Stand to be corrected as such.

By the way are LOITV covering the FAI Cup games this weekend, or will it only be the league teams with home fixtures!

They have an away section for up to 100 set aside. I don't envisage more than 60-70 Harps fans for a first round game.

So, their cup coverage is only for League teams with home fixtures. I reckon some of the non-league teams might arrange streams through their websites, worth checking on the day!

It would be up to each individual club to run their own stream if they choose to do so. If they had plans to stream, it would be facilitated through LOITV. But the cost involved in providing a stream, if they don't have means to do it themselves voluntarily, is too large.

Question from the LOI Central mailbag was what cup final would bring out the biggest crowd. I think the answer is definitely Rovers v Bohs. On that basis I am hoping bohs go through this evening.

Bohs much the better team in the first 15 too, need to see this pressure result in a goal. Dylan Connolly has been savage.

What a couple of minutes for Shels. We concede yet another daft goal from a corner and straight up the other end Bohs player with the most blatant deliberate handball in the penalty box and both the referee and linesman nearby conveniently don't see it they must have been the only people in the ground or watching on TV to unluckily miss that one....

Hoping for a Dylan Connolly show in the second half - his man sent off, winning a penalty, scoring a worldie.

Oh another serious contender for ref blunder of the week. The Wexford penalty awarded is a comically awful episode of blindness from the ref. Keeper wins the ball cleanly. Avondal keeper apoplectic, and understandably so

I'll be suprised if Duff doesn't make changes for Shels, really slack first 30 minutes up the latest comedy goal at a corner, though slight bit better after the goal. Could easily be 2-0 down somewhat fortunate it's 1-0 or if you really aggrieved to feel it should be 1-1 if the blatant palm of the ball peno was given

Wasn't it a handball from Barrett as well?
Mind you, McManus was stonewall.
Shels not up to much tonight, but second half could be a turnaround - like last week.

UCD 3-1 Cobh is a pretty damning reflection on the gap between First and Premier...

Ryan Kelliher opens the scoring - given the banana-skin potential, just need to keep a clean sheet now, and take the 1-0.

Better still, he doubles the scoreline, thanks to POTY-elect Gaxha's assist, and surely confirms a last-16 berth.

Mad game that, shels should have had a penalty no doubt, possible hands from Barratt before then, bohs wasting at least five scoresble chances, Afolabi scores a free header, that’s just the first half.
Second half, stonewall bohs peno turned down, bit of make up there, shels hit the foot of the post, Afolabi missed two chances, Clarke also.
Overall I feel we were worth the win, Damien has a go at a couple of bohs players for trying to shake hands, and gets dogs abuse going off???

Love it.

A rare day of pleasure at The Bowl. No real surprise that nothing much between us and Cobh, I had assumed we were about mid play off standard at the moment, we will be competitive in the play off spots next year I think, it's such a poor league you have to be dog rough to be outside the play offs really

Entertaining match in Dalymount. Bohs were the stronger side for most of the match and with a bit more composure from Connolly and Afolabi would have scored another goal or two. Clarke made a big impact on the attack and they looked a lot better with him playing in the 10 role compared to McDonell. Terrible from the ref to miss that penalty for Shels in the 1st half, McManus clearly moved the ball with his hand. Shels would have a fairly big hole in the attack if Moylan goes to Lincoln before the transfer window closes. They're blunt even with him but they'd have next to no creativity without him as Boyd while a physical presence isn't the greatest at either creating chances or scoring them.

Good to see Kerry beat Ringmahon, they needed to avoid a slipup there.

No it wasn't handball by Barrett watch the replay on LOI TV he blocked that shot moving his body towards the shot

As I expected Shels marginally better in the 2nd half but completely toothless/lacking composure in the final third which is still a major problem with this team. McLoughlin and his linesman suddenly losing their eyesight for the blatant handball could have changed the game but otherwise Shels not good enough tonight

Was a penalty.
And shels need no lessons on throwing themselves to the floor, getting soft frees all second half. Duff clearly had a go at mcloughlin at ht and the big eejit decided to leave intimidated.
Also missed the off the ball on Nowak first half.

Not a great game of football in Kilbarrack tonight. Not the fault of either team really, the pitch is tight and the ball bounces significantly. Felt that the visiting Finn Harps side were comfortably the better team in the first half but Kilbarrack were able to apply a lot of pressure in the second, and even found a couple of free headers in the box that they might have done better with. If Deiric Hyland was available it could have been a very different game, but he wasn't and it wasn't. They looked like a decent team overall and you'd have to think that they could do alright in the LSL Premier, at least at home.

Event management left a lot to be desired, quite a few full bottles of lucozade and cans etc. thrown into the Finn Harps crowd from very short distances. Not a lot that Kilbarrack could do, they removed the kids (and it was kids and teens, not adults) from the ground but sure it was an Astro cage so they just got right back at it from the outside of the cage. The older heads of that group and a few others then jumped the Harps fans waiting at the DART station. Few bottles thrown, punches etc.

Hoping to get another game in at one of the Junior / Inter grounds in the cup this year but will be limiting it to grass pitches from now on. Love getting around the grounds but not sure why the FAI signed off on that venue tbh.

Just in from Drogheda, they were the far better team. Sligo woeful yet again. Russell said himself they shouldn't have been ahead and Drogs the better side. When is it actually going to get better at Sligo? Been on a steady decline for well over a year now

Club officials from Kilbarrack were first class.

Supporters were less than pleasant.

Ground should never have been allowed to host an FAI Cup game.

We done a professional job, despite Rory Kelly making one or two saves, there was only one team going to win the match, and we were well off our best. They've a couple of handy players in the team, but the gulf in standard from LSL to a mid to low First Division club was fairly evident.

Thank f*ck it's over with though and we move on to the next round.
