In my opinion, Donal should be picking a squad of Premier players, I'm not saying there aren't players good enough in the lower divisions, but you need players to be playing tough games week in week out against the top sides, as the step up in what teams they will be playing in the Oscar Traynor is too great and players get found out. Just an opinion before some fellas jump down my throat.
well radio they way things are gone these days you have very good .ie premier and premier a players playing with lower sides in the aul so anyone from any div has to be looked at no point in going with the same squad year in year out a change is need too !! so bascailly your saying so gary nolan glen celticB two of the best in there positions in the aul should not be even tought of so casue they play div 2 get a grip man you need your best and they are about the best out there !!!!

Heisenberg

id agree, a striker could be playing very well in the premier but maybe not scoring every week, does a guy banging in a bucketful of goals down in div 3 deserve his chance more than the guy in premier? i dont think so. if you want to play for cork then you should need to play at the highest level so that the manager knows you have the ability but secondly the right attitude as a lot of times there is a reason why someone is playing in the lower leagues and thats because they dont fancy 2 nights a week training and a tough game at the weekend which is fine as well but dont think you should be playing with cork then

What about the div 3 player that trains as hard as anyone in premier but would rather play for this hometown club with this mates and try and help them raise through the ranks of the AUL rather than ****ing off every summer from club to club so he can play the 'highest level' in Cork AUL

That's exactly what I'm saying Killer, you need to be playing at the highest standard week in week out, premier division has the best 10 teams. Pick from them. No need for me to get a grip, as I said already its my opinion.

Leeview 1 Village 2. A good game that was won by a last minute wonder goal. A good performance by us, solid defensively and dangerous on the break. Always hard to take when its a last minute goal but that's football. Village are a fantastic bunch of lads and I wish them luck. On to the presidents cup now for us away to Lakewood on Sunday.

At the end of the day we all think that this player and that player deserve to be in there but we don't pick the squad. On Joe Ryan I know the guy and he's a good player but I feel he isn't Oscar quality. I was at the greenwood game this weekend (as was Donal) and I feel he missed too many chances and he could/should have been sent off for his mouth to the ref. Is he gonna get in the squad ahead if some of the guys that are in there? I don't think so. Nolan, Nala, Barry Donovan, Paul Byrne, Robbie Healy etc... are ahead of him in my opinion. And before I get slated here its a forum and all about opinions.

Of course Leftside every1 has there opinion. I didn't see yesterday's game but I did hear he missed a hat full and I know him aswell and that can creep in to his game but at least he keeps getting in to the position. I think hes Oscar grade. He's a right hand full and think he deserves a shout he's good both in the air and on the ground. He's ahead of Barry Donovan Healy and Paul Byrne in my eyes. The other two mentioned are class but there discipline is away worse then Joes but I know where your coming from there worth the risk. What about Delea I haven't heard anything about him in awhile is he still playing well or just winding down ?

Just my opinion
22/09/2013, 8:57 PM
Ya Joe Ryan should def get a shot. Class player. As for Robbie Healy. Great player but I feel he should be used as an attacking mid field player. Lovely player. You can't give out about Joes mouth and then mention Gary Nolan!! In fairness he is a fantastic player. Great win for Boscos against "The Galacticos"!!

I agree there, no representation from the southside, some fine players playing with the 3 teams mentioned, ive seen Greenwood and Pearse a few times this season and was impressed by a few, the lad Dunphy, the Midfielder Ben i think his name is, Alan Murphy, I think Joe Ryan should get a call up also, as an ex Centre Half he is the type of player i hated to mark, maybe his finishing lets him down at times though! Also their Central midfielder, not tundy, the other fella, very good player, centre half aswel is a good player, long haired guy, solid enough, but the goalkeeper is as good as i have seen in AUL, for me he has to be in the squad, not sure his name but he has everything for a keeper!!

Our As are a decent team. Few good signings have made us stronger. Think Blarney will still do well and as for Onefor he took the defeat on the chin.

Not sure why some seem to have a problem with him.

That keeper is jason sexton and I would no him fairly well I do t think he would take a call up been honest with his involvement with the barrs and he was out aswell for a long time with his knee so I don't think he would need it want the extra workload
