You said it yourself Shetland it was 2 years ago get over it like its done!! I'm sure Eoins back to back AOH cups maybe prove it was the right decision.. And yes your Brendan Hurley comment was a little dig, but I wouldn't expect anything less from you!!
As was pointed out, it was that clubs decisions to do what they like. I came on to clarify the incorrect facts that another poster had. Good to see Norries sticking together!

Trust me he's the last Norrie I'd be sticking together with!! Has done nothing but slate fellas on here and not just Killumney, he had alot to say about Eddie Kenny on here and a lot of it was personal and very very harsh and over the top, and as you know Eddie is a very very good friend of mine and team mate so it's not a northside vs southside thing Horse!!

no knocka celtic strange one with the team they have now they would have had a good crack at aul section do clubs have to pay for this comp if so it a bit silly pearse A vs B and i tought you b players can play with the a team in this ?!?!
littleman
10/09/2013, 8:04 PM
Within a club,if they have more than one junior team an they enter only one team in the Fai or Mjc then all the registered junior players are available for selection.
However if the club enters one or more teams then the players are only entitled to play with one team in the competition, and if they for example get knocked out in the 1st round with the B team they cant play with the A team in the next round .
A basic rule within the Fai/MFA and Aul etc etc is that a player is only entitled to play with one team in any competition.
With regards to Pearse A v B , thats the luck of the draw Killer;)

Just a quick glance from Innishvilla point of view - The path to the open round contains: Glen Celtic, Innishvilla, Park & Coachford - so guarantees that only 1 from those 4 premier teams can get out of town... I'm not writing off Hillington, Kanturk & Bweeng just looking at the Premier teams... Tough draw...

We didn't enter as we weren't sure if there would of been a squad there this season with the squad over haul being huge.

First Cork AUL game fixed for the same weekend as the All Ireland hurling final replay.. Could that influence fellas decisions about playing on it?
If its agains te Kerry side you'd imagine they'll be pushing for a Saturday game around the same time as the final.

Nightmare for AUL in general, no disrespect to the lower teams but the Premier teams will prob have the best chance of going on a run like Pearse did last year. And it's good for the AUL to have our teams getting as far as possible.
Good luck to all tho!!

Ridiculous for a club to enter both an A team and B team into Munster or FAI Junior Cup. Why have two teams competing against each other in the same competition? Complete waste of money. You should only enter one team and have your entire Junior Squad available for selection. Imagine your keeper getting injured and you can't use your second choice keeper because he is cup tied for playing against your A team in an early round. Mad! If that's the way A and B teams are run in Cork you may as well have 2 separate clubs.

As far as I know we at Leeside always entered both competitions. The possibility of being drawn against each other is fairly rare to be fair

But I think the point is not being drawn against each other - it is the fact that the players are all cup tied...

Would the A team not enter then and they can help out the B team?? I wouldn't be to happy if I was on a B team and we weren't entering a competition because the A team might need some of our players.. Do you go as far then as to not enter the AOH either incase they need ye again??
Enter everything would be my opinion and if players are cup tied then that's tough at the end of te day, why should some players not get to play in those cups because the A team MIGHT need 1 or 2, what about the rest of the players?

In my opinion too many B teams are being run like a seperate entity to the extent that they are almost in competition with their A team. That doesn't make sense. It is your club that is being represented in the Munster and FAI and to give your club every chance they should have option to select any player registered with your club while they are still involved in the competition. I suppose it comes down to what you see as the purpose of a B team? I think it should be there solely to support and make the A team better i.e by introducing youth players to junior soccer, helping injured A players getting back to fitness with some game time or maybe as a 'retirement home' for A players who are past their best by providing them with football so they can stay involved with the club. If a B team don't meet these basic requirements what's the point of having one, why not just form a separate club?
