I also heard that a fella signed with a club couldnt make a game today but he started a game with another club a few hours later. Whats going on with lads. Went to fairfield today to watch final and well done to cathedral celtic on winning the tournament....monty brillant along with lar betts. Blackstone need to sign a few or they will dtruggle again. They never really looked like beating cathedral today. Well done to all involved in organising the competetion

Care to elaborate on player whose signed and played with a different team back pass?

Cambridge maybe just playing games to get fit.

I think a lot of players are playing games with different clubs.

See how and if they fit in.

I personally don't see the problem.

Im not going to get into the gareth thing again because it has all been said before. I wont name the other player I referred to at all on here. He played with no fewer than 3 northside AUL teams this week. I understand that players play with 1 r 2 clubs to see if they fit in but this just takes the ****. The team he signed for had a game yesterday but he couldnt play he said but hel b training tuesday which is no bother... The manager of that team went to watch another game later on only to see ya man playing away...now I do have a problem with that carry on

Spot on with your thoughts Backpass, thankfully you will see a much changed Blackstone once the league starts. These games are a chance to see a few new faces and try some different ideas out, we will use the Mossie also for this and hopefully have ourselves prepared for the league ahead. Congrats to Cathedral who will be strong in the 1st Division this year, good blend of experience, skill and physicality! Well over us on the day!

Agree with ya 100 percent there back pass.

That shows how much he cares about the club he's signed with anyway.

I hope ye bring in a few to strenghten up a bit but it must be difficult for teams around the one area trying to bring in players at the same time. I was talking to a lad at the match and I told him that four teams use the fairfield and he was amazed at that and asking how they survive. So credit to ye because im sure its not easy week in , week out but keep the faith and best of luck for the rest of the season

shame another aul team has fallen before a ball is even kicked riverstown/brookelodge kanturk up from div 3 to div1 to replace riverstown/brooklodge

You'd think with an area the size of Glanmire there wouldn't be a problem but many of the old "Brooklodge" stages weren't too happy with the "Riverstown" merger. A few of the Brooklodge 1st team players have made their way to Leeside Park for this year

Just my opinion
15/08/2013, 12:31 AM
Very surprised at this. They had a big piece in today's echo blowing them up big time!! In fairness Barry Peelo put on a big spread again

Just my opinion

On another note I believe the AUL have picked the correct team to replace them though. Fair play to the person who made that decision!!

Riverstown Brooklodge Fc – Club Statement

Riverstown Brooklodge Fc have resigned from the Cork Athletic Union League (Cork AUL) with immediate effect. Following a meeting of club officials this week, it is with regret the club has reached a decision not to compete in Division 1 of the Cork AUL for the 2013-2014 season.

A number of reasons have contributed to this decision, primarily regarding the number of players required to fill 2 squads in separate leagues. This decision was not taken lightly, but consideration was given to the viability of entering a competitive league without adequate playing members. By reaching this decision, it will allow the Cork AUL time to re-structure their league and cup formats before the season starts this weekend. The club would like to thank the Management Committee of the Cork AUL for their patience and understanding in this matter.

The club will continue with 1 junior team for the coming season competing in the Munster Junior League 1st Division.

On behalf of Riverstown Brooklodge Fc,

Ioannis O Connell
