if so the aul have some explaining to do as ref and everton at the groundIts not Aul's fault if game is called off its the team that calls it off to contact the opposition and the ref in this case the Tower sec should have contacted the ref and Everton so another fine on way to Tower I'd say

yes there a good side alright will be right up in the mix good result for ye ,can ye do it on a consistent basis in the league as i know coachford will
Ya we have a bigger squad this year apart from losing the two lads to Douglas hall seniors so I think we will be able to come up wit this consistency every week.hopefully the lads might come back from the hall aswell then that would be as good a squad anywhere in cork aul

I get upset a lot over that aul team :) but every person has a differant view on players tactics and so forth . It would look to me that the aul management had their squad selected long before them 2 trail games . Its hard enough to manage a prem or any team and get your starting 11 right every week you'll always have guys that think they should start so imagine having the pick of over 1000 players or if you only look at top two prem and prem a you'd have 200 to 230 players to pick from . So I can see why everyone would back their own but back to your question your keeper your number 4 6 and 8 would have been worth a look in my eyes but I don't pick the team :) . A lot of crap involved with aul team I know I slagged Park for having 6 but if I was Park manager I would have pushed for my players to be picked . So a lot of politics involved but I'll be there on wednesday shouting them on .
Totally agree about the numbers involved that its very hard to see or judge players on 1 game.could the Oscar traynor not be moved back by 1 month to give all managers in the competition a better look at players.

All this "my player, your player, this player," should be in is wrecking my head. For the love of football lets see how they do against the defense force or higher opposition. If I'm not mistaken when we won the competion people complained about Keith Kellehers inclusion in the squad but he put in MOM performances week after week. Guess who recommended Keith to Minty? Donal Riordan that's who now lets get behind him and the squad and get out the Cross next week. The boys selected will run through walls for the jersey and will give 100%. Come on lads let's give a week of support, Donal can choose only a few not everyone we think should be there. AUL Abu.

I also see that the Gerry Smiths Irish Amateur team are playing the Defence Forces on the 27 of oct in the Aul complex in Dublin . Not too sure will that be good for us or not you could look at in 2 lights 1 the defence forces might send their full squad and use it as warm up to that game or 2 they might use it as a trail game for that match and just use munster players .

Are you joking? Casement are bottom of the MSL 2 + without a win in the league. Surely the AUL need stronger opposition before they play the Defense Forces.

theyve had nothing but easy games.. they needed to be tested imo

Didn blarney st beat them 5 or 6 nil a while back?? Surely they need tougher tests than this?? How can he even pick a starting 11?? They will all play well against opposition like that, it's ridiculous, it will be another 5 or 6 nil and that's not good enough!! A game against Park or Blarney St or Killumney would have been a tougher test, well maybe not park cos they've about 17 on the AUL squad ;-)

So what if they have players on it, the AUL played Blarney St last year and Crow and Babsy were starting on it, playing the likes of Avondale or Rockmount you see who is up to the standard obviously, it's a cork team playing weaker teams gives you absolutely nothing scoring 7 or 8 goals players strolling around, play weaker teams to learn fellas names?? Are you serious there or what???? That's the worst comment I ever heard!!!
Kearney
16/10/2012, 11:48 AM
Afton Villa are on the AUL website looking for a game. Maybe they should play them :-) on a serious note, I'm not saying they should play Rockmount or Avondale but maybe a decent Munster senior league division 1 side. Lads have to be tested before the game. Lets just say the defense forces are a quality side + and knock the ball around at a high tempo. The AUL wont be prepared for that having playing teams a lot weaker than them. Would ye not agree?

Did you read my post? Why do you keep saying Avondale? I just said to play a team in MSL 1.

Yes hubba straight in at the deep end this is a cork team have to hit the ground running there after 2 games and 3 training sessions, they should look to be tested now it'll be there last game before the competition starts... You tell me what a 6 or 7 nil win is gonna do for them tomorrow???? absolutely nothing, average players will stand out against very poor opposition and it's far from poor opposition there going to be playing... Do you understand now???

What do you want them to do so throw them straight in at the deep end right lads playing avondale Wed night 3rd game playing together...without knowing what way your keeper kicks the ball out and gettin used to play wit a new back four ahead off ya..
no armbands no dingys they should be launched into the deep end. whats wrong with playing castleview seniors blarney leeds. or play blarney st kilumney or even corintians juniors. get them tested. they need it they played a lot better standard of friendlies last year and still got absolutley battered in tipperary last year. battering teams in friendlies proves nothing. look at blarney st this season. murdered teams in the mossy first league game then struggled away to greenwood.. fellas needed to be tested thats only way your going ta find out if they sink or swim.

Ya we played five in midfield because off missing a couple of key players, I don't know what's going on up in blarney st. But there not getting results as of yet like.
From what Ive been told blarney st were all over Macroom hit the post and bar a few times.just couldn't score.Macroom also had a man sent off in the 2nd half.great start from Macroom 6points from 6.hopefully they can stay up this year.

Just on the aul game tonight I no the casement lads will give it everything but there like the aul team only together a few weeks so I don't think it's the challenge the aul need. Why didn't they play some one like Springfield. Kilreen the glen or even us good teams with no players on the squad makes sense to me so Donal could see if there's any other players that might interest him and get a good tough game at the same time.
What time is kick off tonight lads? Presume it will go ahead on the all weather
When the tournament starts will they even have played a game together on a grass pitch??

Makes absolutely no difference, once they know each others names and have played together then it doesnt matter whether they play on astro grass concrete or anything, if they can play together they can play on any surface!! Some fellas on here just go out of their way to find something to criticise the lads about. Its laughable really. Only a few are actually supporting the lads, realistically the criticism is probably coming from people who are still sore about not getting selected for the squad or not having their players selected for the squad. Last practice game tonight, im sure some support would be alot more helpful

Left twenty mins early was called home but aul played three at the back babbsy and Kearney and one other Nolan in midfield don't know the rest jc and lynch up top the views on casement totally wrong not a bad side at all ,don't think the three at the back is gonna work the centre halts not the quickest on tonight's showing but I liked that they played it out from the back quickly Kearney pushed up in to midfield with the half time changes Jeffers on linzell on mousey on and a few more I'm sure delea came on lacking a bit of sthing around the middle to break organised teams down in my eyes but they tried to knock it around conditions horrendous up there other than that old legs can't tell you anymore

Was 2-2 when i left with 5 mins to go, casement were decent but still an average 2nd division team,, the other center half was mcsweeny from Tower fc, who i thought was caught over the top a few times and his passing was poor,, i agree about three at the back not working, they played nice football across the back but gave away alot of ball in midfield, lynch was busy up front but missed some chances, thought they were better with kearney in midfield for second half but if they want to win next week, they need alot of improvment. Delea didnt come on, was the lad from douglas hall,

I wasn't der either but I no casements centre back was on goal as I no a lot if them they weren't too impressed by the aul team but I hope this was only a blip for them and that they do the league proud over the next few weeks.

To be fair the whole team was poor but we cant expect much more on a night like that, casement are better than they were given credit for. Horrendous conditions up there, lashing rain and gail force winds so we cant take too much from that game at all lads. Impossible to play in them conditions, ball was all over the place in the air and zipping off the surface at a ridiculous pace. All 3 at the back were dodgey but thats always going to be the case in them conditions, lloyd looked good and maybe lynch was ok other than that nobody in my opinion. Passing was quite good from all the lads the problem was making it stick. Pretty harsh to criticise any of the lads on a night like that i wouldnt fancy going out to try impress in those conditions. Think that was the strongest team that could have been picked and if the conditions were not so bad i think they would have won well.

18/10/2012, 8:23 PM
sullivan kearny babbsy terence. stacky eammon mark vinny llyod. john cocoran and darren lynch. conditions were bad enough alright to be fair. 0-0 half time aul prob should have been in front. i thought the midfield was poor first half with the exception of mark nolan who tired after an hour but was the only 1 of the 3 in there too want the ball and get on it. raft of changes at half time. soft penalty to give away which was saved but nobody followed up and casement went 1 up. aul worked the ball a lot better second half i thought cans was the main reason for that got llyod into the game a lot and they got good joy down the right second half goal came from that side. casement went 2-1 soft free kick again quickly taken. aul had 2 or 3 chances then and got a spotter late on. a better excercise than i and a lot of fellas thought they would get anyway.

Guys, just a quick question. If a player has a long term suspenion from a league association in Ireland can they play in another association league, or does suspension carry. For instance if player A has a 12 month suspension from the Limerick Leagues can they play in the Cork AUL during that ban or is the ban national?
oldlegs
18/10/2012, 9:39 PM
I would say is national as in the cork aul and limerick leagues are governed my mfa which in turn is governed by fai so my guess is it would be a national ban .
