Pitch is grand. A bit sticky but so is everywhere. All pitches need a week of dry. Any dry spell is lasting 2 days! More work on it all week ready for the visit of the champions on Saturday next.
Fitting that the champions will be first - I hope Dave from park brings his scissors for the ribbon! We have alternative arrangements for that game, and it will be the only game on it before the dressing rooms are ready.
Dressing rooms are 4 weeks behind and 3/4 weeks away. Foundations began last week. Delays caused by the weather and stupid hooliganism in the sister project in Pophams have caused the delay.
All that have seen inside Pophams are very impressed so we look forward to it.

Second pitch in the Fairfield, sharing with Fairview. All 4 teams will use the new dressing rooms. ( Bohs and Cathedral on the other)

Ya big scores alright great result for the glen away to Coachford did Coachford have a full squad zicoi think 1 or 2 cant speak for them we were short as well ..its only the mossi so to be expected but if so and not at full squad they have good players they played well .we got the odd bit of luck our keeper was very good when called on and saved a great spot kick.the glen worth their win.

I heard they wanted to pull out and only field MSL/MJL teams but were not able to do so...

22/08/2012, 3:18 PM
How can you stop them pulling out if they cant fulfill fixtures? They tried this a few years back but could never manage 3 teams properly, fellas ended up playing with different sides each week to fill team numbers. They should not have been allowed a MJL Team, or else pull out of the AUL altogether like other sides have done.

Re LEEDS: Shetland, harsh to blame clubs. Is there any club doing it properly when they are all trying. Does the fault lie with the ego of the young men the players are by then? Going in as a "nobody" to a senior or junior side when you were maybe a "star" with your schoolboys team throught the years may not appeal? Club loyalty doesnt come into it. There are 14 and 15 year olds, who, without being offensive to anyone, will never make a living from football, moving to "bigger clubs" from the club that raised them. Should parents step in?
Fair play to Darren Lynch - nice guy and good player. Delighted for Park too........well until Saturday!
Some funny results around. High scores. First division looks wide open - good wins for Village and Knockraha againt my two tips for the title.
I saw Knockavilla during the week - not a bad side at all. May start like they did last season and drag it further.
Radiostar - I think you maybe the star of the best story I heard all summer. You have 20 grand from some local benefactor and are paying Derek, Ricky Gettings and others 50 quid a week!!! Having been dumped on this site by my manager, I would like to make it clear I will play for €45!
Cheifscout, your favourite Wilton player was playing! Bad news Im afraid, he played very well!
Dixie, did you get a life yet or will you be running the predictions league???

Horse, I've heard those stories before!!, last season I was being paid €13k a year by the club too! No such luck I'm afraid, hope that won't put off Ricky Gettings joining us if he gets fed up at Leeside!!

And best of luck to all at the club as they start their first ever season in Prem football . Now I must go off and eat some humble pie ;)

No problem there KC, Leeds have pulled out of the mossie, so that fixture will be void.

Ya I was surprised they set a league fixture before Mossie Linnane was finished out, but at least it won't be a free weekend.
