We have a squad of 21 players. 1 less is not going to make much of a difference. Man out for season?? Playing the Glen on sunday would of being his last game anyway :-). Were you there Radio?? Were anyone on this actually at the game? Look at Pardew last week, pushing the linesman and what did he get? Two games touchline ban was it?

yes your right but lets have some ticking off for refs to .some think they can say and do what they like you cant call a guy a clown either or reek in drink,,,,,,,im no angel but somthing must change with refs.nice touch there about advantages on footie.. man out for season mind game carrig 1 kc 0 like your style id do same if i was in charge of glen for sunday v kc lol id milk it here today ..sorry kc.but i think you move on and its a great club .

The reason the whole thing started off. 1 of our players was on a yellow. He made a challenge out by our line. Great challenge, Got the ball but looked dangerous. Ref blew whistle and ran towards player, probably about to tell him it was his last chance cause i'm sure he cant see two feet in front of him. While running towards player pearse took a quick free. All of our players were stopped as whistle was blown and and player was about to be spoken too. Ref decides not to have a word but to leave play continue from which they scored. Tell me you wouldnt feel hard done by.

KC I'm not having a pop at ye, I heard it directly from one the Pearse players, and if that was what happened, then based on similar incidents in the past, it's gonna be a long ban.

To be fair Zico, i don't think Radios comment on here regarding Kilreen was to get a reaction, or some sort of advantage, as you put it, in any way shape or form. Thats not his or more importantly Carrigs style. As KC stated, they have a big squad and as we all say, one man doesn't make a team.

Sorry KC, I have had my fair share of comment on officials......but a line was crossed. I dont suppose the force matters much, but the again a brush cant be treated as assault. Sounds like more than a brush this time though.Ye are going well by all accounts and I dont anticiate a hangover for ye.

4 or 5 sides must fancy themselves for Prem A - could be a fascinating season. Kilreen, D Hall, Carrig, Glen, Kanturk have all had decent Mossie's.

Weather has been kind to us - keep the fingers crossed.

I see AUL team post - who would you like to see there - excluding your own club?

Babbsy, Stephen Mc Auliffe from Blarney Street.
Docker from Castleview

just to get us started.

Agree oldlegs not the best 11 but the most suitable 11 for a certain type of play ! Saw the young lad jack Walsh a couple of times over the last few weeks looks very good going forward.
Is there a new manager this year or is it still the manager from last year who played players on reputation

I wouldnt keep aul selection to just prem or prem A. pa long mooney one of the best midfielders in cork has to to be john corcoran up top.

John Corcoran will surely get a run, and I'd like to see Kieran Joyce from Killumney get a run to he was man of the match in the AOH final def worth a chance!

Good to see the debate about the AUL team has started back up. It causes mixed opinions every year. The new manager needs to have a strong back 4 with a good keeper behind them. They let in 4 goals up in Tipp + 2 goals in the cross. Its not good enough. There are decent players out there but Cork wont win it for a while. Tipp, Dublin + Limerick are too strong. Best the AUL can hope for is quarter final. Sure they were haunted the year they won it. Even the lads themselves said that

I see a lot of the games and no a lot of the players and yes pa long is a very good player k always thought a lot of him when he was with castleview seniors, but y has pa joined the glen b? I would certainly bring along Ryan o shea as I said on this before he's finishes against Kilreen the other day wer exceptional and showed great awareness to we're his strike partner was.joycey is another good player but I'd fancy taken loyd Dorgan his team mate ahead of him very pacey and direct.john Corcoran has to be a shoe in for the squad

All good opinions on the AUL team. Most of the team will come up from Prem & Prem A for obvious reasons. The guys down the leagues should be looked at but, in the case of many guys over the years, they choose to step down.
Is that the mental attitude for a cold and wet Thursday in Tipp against Irish internationals?

Is that Shazzer banging in goals for Pearse? He is banging in goals since he was 12! He is only 19 Id say.

A lot of good players from the AUL gone senior with the 3 clubs and with other clubs. A few gone MJL too.

I saw lots of games in the winning Oscar Traynor run - lucky on occassions yes but you cant win the whole competition on luck alone. They were dominant in the Final - way better side.

Why would anyone give a baby grow to someone without a baby?ohhhh that would explain why it was triple xxxl .on a lighter note i think yes to new gaffer ,but the staff in place before him should always remain, they have been taking in the games and know who to go and see that just missed the cut.

I agree, but not always as simple as that - commitments etc. Tough job because its been 4 games and a manager has to name his squad.

Kieran Joyce a fine player, Lloyd Dorgan quicker and more direct but Joycey an extremely hard worker, just two of many fine players with Killumney. Don Forde, Mark Buckley, Calla and Kearney all should be in the initial call ups imo. too.

Couldnt agree more on all counts all fine players , lloyd has to be fastest player I have seen and savage ball control to go with it, don and mark two fine defenders, joyce would run all day long for ya ,,

Should be a clean slate for squad a trial game maybe some very good players around both leagues prem and prem a last years team didn't get up to much I believe , correct me if Im wrong , as for lower league player a club should make a case for a player if he's good enough as there maybe legitimate reasons as to why he dosent play premier such as work etc

Am I right or not lads but the aul team for last couple years have failed right or not?? So why should the same players be picked the following year and so on..should players who never had their chance not get their chance...you are right on all counts..try some youth and let the back room boys get out the old notes of who could have made it and see.also lynch got left out last year did he ???if so golden boot .. call up ..prem title some egg on face there..packet of baby whipes for some one or 2 lol .

I agree that the team failed but what do you expect when the best team was never picked from the players available. What your saying is not to pick the likes of Darren Lynch or Babsy etc? Sure that would get Cork AUL no where. There would be no point even turning up for games with a depleted team. Niall did pick good players on the panel but it was team selection on the day that cost them. Players were asked to play in positions they weren't playing for their clubs + there was no plan B. Just my opinion.

Has any player from the lower divisions (div 2 or 3) been looked at? Just wondering. We had a player the last 2 seasons who's gone straight into the starting 11 of a msl team this year. Also have 1 or 2 more who could do the same and I know we aren't the only club at this level to have players of higher calibre. Might be worth looking at... There are alot of players that are extremely loyal at their club who won't move up divisions but are definately good enough for it. No harm in checking out a game or two at lower levels!

Darren did play - Id say his game up in Tipp helped him get national notice. He was excellent that night. Good honest opinion post Donnie.

From personal experience, step one is guys realising what the honour is and wanting to play for the AUL. Suppose same can be said of Traps team.

You wouldnt believe how many guys who didnt get a call.............."didnt want to play with them anyway!!" - whoever is playing, whoever is managing..................its not them its US! We play in the Cork AUL.

My involvement in the set-up was unsuccessful, but what an honour. It hurts like any unsuccessful thing does.
Im a fan of AUL team 2012-2013 already, even though I dont know who is on it. I may moan and groan abut the selection but that football. I will still want them to win.

That was brought up last year as well. There was the option for clubs to send in a list of players that they thought were good enough. I know a few from corkbeg were looked at + a few more. As far as checking out games, it is hard with so many leagues + games. If a manager feels strongly enough about a player, he could just ring the cork manager. I'm sure he would be happy to leave him train for a night or two + take it from there then.

I don't know much about this new manager but its a fresh start + one that was needed. Niall was always going to get critised as he was managing in MSL but coaching AUL. Never an ideal setup. People cant moan about favours or players being picked for whatever reason. He will have his own ideas + players in mind. Be interesting to see squad considering most have only played Mossie which is used as pre season by most.

Hope Donal O Riordan rings in the changes for the AUL side. Fresh faces with fresh ideas, no better man to do it. A tough job that doesnt always please everyone. Personally haven't been a great fan of the set up for the last couple of years due to the treatment of certain players but hopefully that wont happen this year.
Best of luck to him and his team.

Guys, I played under Donal with Leeds a few years back and I assure you this guy eats, sleeps and breaths football. He'll leave no stone unturned in making sure he has the best squad at his disposal. He's one of the most honest and approachable managers I've worked with and will give everyone a fair crack. I've heard he's been at games from 3rd division to Prem already this year. Great appointment in my opinion, and long over due too!
