Bonk I think you will find that we all have different accents when you meet us depending on what part we are from.

You'd be amazed how many people can't tell the difference.

No provlem Saint Tom , im glad I helped.

Now im really ( !!! ) not trying to insult anybody here , but I have to ask this:
Do you have a "heavy" accent , like the same as the english that people from Scotland speak ? ( do know how to spell accent , hope you understand )
Sorry for the rude question, I was just wondering
Our accent is different from Scotland. When i was in collage, It took me two week to understand what donegal people and South Kerry people (opposite ends of the country) are saying. I had one guy from south kerry who spoke with a grunt voice and speak slower(or relaxed) than most and donegal was garble and talk faster :confused: . When I first meet them I though i would have a better chance of understand dog language :eek:. I was unlucky, that i had to share a house with these two lads who were had the extremes of accents from their own counties. It was like learning two new languages in a foreign country. There might as well be indian, russian and german in the household. After the first month i became the translator for them.
We had no problems communicating in the Pub.
But as peader says, sign language work best. It a simple but effective method, especially when your'e at the back of the pub and need a few pints. Just nod at the barstaff for attention, and sign your order. By the time you get to the bar. Order is ready. :D :D

ha ha!!!!
the_bonk, don't worry irish people are easier to understand than the scots, u might struggle to understand a few people from Cork or Belfast, but just slap them and tell them to slow down...... :D ;)

Would you like to learn some hebrew useful slang? I can try to teach it... :)

* If you speak to a man (like friend or someone you try to be a friend of him), say "A'khee" ("kh" is like in the name "Loch"), that means "my brother". Also, you can say "Gever", that means "a man".
* If you speak to a woman (like friend or someone you try to be a friend of him), say "A'khotee", that means "my sister".
* "Sababa" or "Akhla" means great/fantastic, or sometimes ok.
* "Magneev" = great/nice.
* "Jiffa" = garbage.
* "Ben Zona" = Son of a bitch
* "Stom Ta'Pe" = A very rude way to say "be quiet", that means "lock you mouth".
* And the last one is a very big challenge for non-hebrew speakers... "LeKh Kha'Pes mi YeNa'A'Ne'A OtKha", = go and find someone you shake youself... If someone ask you to do something and it isn't sound fair for you... that's the non-polite way you say you don't agree. Don't say that in a taxi or in a market, between friends only.

More Hebrew slangs you can read in:
http://www.notam02.no/~hcholm/altlang/ht/Hebrew.html

If I'll think about more I update you...

Friday and saturday were hot, but today and the rest of the week shouldn't be as hot as the weekend was . Today 18C in Tel Aviv , I hope and think it will be hotter by the end of the month .
Nope, last days no news about the green army .... when there will be i will update here .
But what they did say a few days that 2,500 Irish people already bought tickets to the match. This makes me happy because were 3 weeks away and im sure that more people will join when the date will be closer.

You should change them in Israel IMO !!! You will get more money for your Euro. When you arrive at the Airport there are two "CHANGE" points in the entrance hall that you just can't miss .

In Israel's biggest newspaper talked a little about the game.
They said that the tickets to the western stands are running out, and 43,000 fan's are expected to arrive to the match.
The thing that I didn't know until now was that they wrote that 4,600 tickets are saved to the Irish fans!!!! 2,100 in the western stands ( the good ones ) are kept for the offical Irish fan club or something like that and the other 2,500 tickets are in eastern stands for the "regular" fans .
I think that 4,600 tickets for you is to much although I like you people :D :
1. There is no chance you will bring 4,600 fans to Israel , and the tickets could be sold to Israeli's .
2. This is a home game for Israel and we need the home advantage , so this amount is HUGE.
I hope that 3,000 Irish will come , and I don't think that you will bring more .

Don't exchange a big money in the airport, rates are very bad there...

The best place to exchange from EURO to NIS is in exchange points, you can find many of them in the tourism area in TA (Hayarkon St').
Don't exchange in banks' branches!

Exchanging from Euro to NIS is possible anywhere.

I think you are right. But because this newspaper has a bad reputation I wouldn't put my money on what they say. So only a few days before we could se if it's really like that .
If it is, it wouldn't be SO bad for you because its not far away, and there will be no Israeli's in between ( its hard to explain it cause you didn't see the stadium )
