I hear their is a big rift in the cashel camp already apparently some players arent happy with the management and are making demands. I taught all would be well their after getting promoted to the premier . Glenn Doherty is ment to have stepped down as manager He will be a major loss to the club. I was talking to a villa player the weekend and he told me that Barry Ryan was playing with Fairview Rangers this season .

I'd say Barry Ryan changes his mind every day about who he's going playing with or for!

i wont have anyone stealing my thunder as "barry ryan"......i actually didnt think tipp top was particularly complimentary.....i think the word he was looking for was arrogant:) well tipperary man your certainly not a fan of barry so you will be glad to pack him off to limerick:)

Any news on Celtic this year..hopefully they will build on this years cup sucess and with a few signings who knows..They have a good core of a team in place as it stands.Craig Condon the centre half has the making of a cracking player wat a game he had in cup final.Paul Shanahan is back to his best too his Work rate is phenomenal he can play anywhere in my opinion he played as a sweeper when i played with him in his younger days and he comes up with important goals wherever he goes who can forget his winner in the munster junior final for town a couple of years ago and Kennedy up front altho maybe greedy will always get you goals. These along with Cosgrave Cagney Waters (When fit) plus a few new signings will surely see celtic go close.Any opinions on this?

On another note i was told two mile borris approaches tommy gaynor to be manager approximatly 2,3 weeks ago!!!

totally agree......winning their first trophy should provide the breakthrough now for celtic to progress.....they have excellent facilities and some very strong players....the league will be much tighter next season

sorry to pour cold water on the celtic brigade but there isnt a chance of them winning the league, they are much too inconsistent and have a few very volatile players which doesnt help. 3rd or 4th again

i agree with you that they wont win the league ron but i think they might trouble the top teams a lot more and make for a tighter league,i think whichever of the top 3 teams strenghtens the best in terms of signings will win the league, paul scully and the likes of coady, mcgrath and kiely would be huge losses for town

i dont know why he should join either team. peake pushed town all the way last season and for one of their players to leave for a limerick junior side is dissappointing. by all means if a player wants to better himself and play loi football, like the 2 young guys from town, that i can understand, but to move to limerick to play junior football when saints, town or peake are as good as any team down there puzzles me a little. but best of luck to him

Its true that Peake did push Town all the way last season. However, he may feel that Pike Rovers offer a better chance of winning an FAI / MJC than Peake Villa, and at the end of the day a player is entitled to sign with who he wants.

Any update on signings by Town, Peake or Saints?

Was Great to hear last night that the rift in Cashel has all been sorted and they are back training today. Glenn would have been a huge loss if he had of walked as manager. Its amazing how small things can escalate out of proportion. Here's hoping that we can push on from this and establish ourselves as a top premier side.

right so let you be the only person allowed talk about him on this forum so! it's alright for you to try crack a few jokes about it as you have done in "lots" of your posts but no need to have a go at others for doing the same

anyway enough of that...

so any more transfers in the pipeline in the premier league? whose over Michaels and Peake this year? or any new teams joining the league?

no by all means work away and its about banter but it seems anytime anyone posts something remotely complimentary about barry ryan they are accused of being barry ryan.....everybody cant be barry ryan....although i think the same guy would enjoy that:) saints seem to be focusing on limerick for players and all seems very quiet with town and peake....what players are in the league that could strengthen the top 3?

Tipperary_Man

I wonder if Blossom will start focusing on bringing through some of the younger players or else will they go to Waterford for a few. I think what's happening now is that the likes of Saints and Clonmel Town are finding it more difficult to get players from other clubs in the county as facilities and that have been improved and players are more willing to stay. Hopefully it will lead to a more competitive league but this will take time. How will Borris and Cashel fare this season?

was thinking blossom will introduce a few youths but he will not want to be the first town manager in 6 years not to win the league so they will want to add a couple....maybe from celtic? kennedy,shanahan....would they be tempted? peake will look to push on as well, but i think your right in terms of players not wanting to leave their clubs, the appeal of saints and town has seemed to drop in recent times and probably is good for the league and i suppose it gives youth players in the top clubs a chance

dont know about kennedy id say hell stay and shanners will nearly definitely not go back..it would be definite if mcgeever was in charge but now bloss is in charge anything could happen..shanners seniors might head to celtic too...heard barry kiely (fringe town player) is going to celtic even tho ive heard hes training wit 4th division ballypatrick at the moment

To my knowledge its the same management at both Peake and Michaels this year which is good to see as both managers done well with the bunch of players they had at their disposal last year. Both these managers will be under alot less pressure than Blossom as he doesnt want to be the first Town manager not to win a league in 7 yrs.

I think Michaels will win the league this year any taughts?

colin bargary trained with cashel last night

Colin wasn't the only one training with cashel last night Barry Ryan of Peake was their also. Both those would be a huge addition to us. I could see us possibly challenging for a league with those players in our team.

As for chalky leaving Michaels their isnt a hope in hell of that happening

Insidetherock

Cashel Town had an excellent turn out last night.. again... and not only did Colin Bargary train with us, but 3 other Premier players from last year.. 2 from Rosegreen, Trevor Downey and David Delaney, and Barry Ryan from Peake Villa

And just to clear it up, Barry Ryan would be a fantastic addition to the club. No matter what people think about him, he seemed a humble and hard working player at training last night, and his TSDL record suggests he is top class...

He might rub opponents up the wrong way, but so long as he works hard and for his team-mates, so what? Why should he be nice to suit other teams ?

If you are reading Barry, you're welcome in Cashel

As for the Rosegreen lads, that's 4 who will be possibly fighting for places with Cashel this year, as David Cully has already been training with Cashel and Vinnie Downey, Trevors brother is also considering coming in

Colin Bargary coming from Michaels will also be a huge boost, and showed in training last night that he is a quality player also...

So, that's 6 Premier players possibly signing for Cashel, with the added bonus that 5 of them are local or relatively local, so bedding them in with the lads already there should be easy enough, unlike the disruption Michael's will have bringing players from Limerick and other clubs. You'd wonder why some of their fans put up with it to be honest

Add that to a fantastic bunch of players already at the club, and you are looking at a team that has the potential to be very strong on the field, with a strong bench to call on, and Cashel Town could be going places this year

Bargarry would be a good addittion to a decent cashel team...dont think barry ryan would join them tho. I heard they werent the only two new players training with them.....anyone hear any more on that? As for Chalky..whether he leaves or not,,saints are a dwindling team in comparison to town unless they get some serious recruita!!

Freddy

Is there any truth in the word around that a few of the Town players are leaving?? Just heard that Coady could be! Any truth in it?? Theyre surely too strong for the league with or without one or two players anyway!!!

an excellent point and i think the guy gets way too much stick on this site,i happen to know him off the field and he is a gentleman and loves his football and in fairness i dont think from a football point of view anyone would question him, goalscorers like him are a rare breed and wherever he plays next season he will score goals

Jesus Cashel are back training early but then again it's vital to get off to a good start in the league to allow players gain confidence.
Any other teams back yet?

Insidetherock
08/07/2009, 11:02 PM
Early bird catches the worm as far as Cashel are concerned, and we've got together some excellent fitness and coaching personel to help us out. Well over 30 people at training, and we're likely to have very competitive A and B teams

Michael's do seem to be dwindling, but then again, when they have to go stealing players from juvenile upwards for years from other cloubs, they lose a lot of local talent. Probably a big thing with players now was said already ie Cooke Park isn't the only decent pitch in Tipperary anymore, and players can get decent facilities elsewhere

I think the pull of playing with your home club is also very strong as well, and Michael's have lost that over the years. Maybe it's coming back to haunt them now.

Just imagine what Cashel would be like if they had the players from Cashel at the other TSDL clubs. Chalkie and Breen in Tipp, Ryan in Clonmel. Three internationals. You'd be looking at an FAI team there.

Wishful thinking

Freddy

Don't no bout any other teams back training yet..Cashel are the first I've heard bout but I'm sure most of the premier teams have a regular pre season training schedule that they adhere to. I can't believe cashel had so many premier players from last season training with them already. Granted, the players mentioned wudnt be top class but wud definitely add a lot to an already promising young team. Looks like an interesting season ahead! Although I want to see Town win everything this year I wud like cashel to do well as I know some of the players and they are genuinely a nice bunch of lads.....Best of luck to ye!!

Anyone have any updates on any confirmed signings for any clubs yet?? From the Town perspective i think we need a serious replacement for Scully this season...he will be a serious loss. I think we'll be strong enough for the league without him but not too confident about the national and provincial competitions. I know one player doesnt make a team but he has been the pulse of the team for many seasons. Anyway...any info on confirmed signings yet????:ball:

No offense Dr. Robert but Scully or Burns would never leave Town for Saints.! I agree they would be serious additions, to any team, but they are Town players through and through. As for Andrew Flynn, i have seen him play over the years against us and theres no doubt he is a serious left winger. I saw David Slattery play for Cashel a few times during last season and he was there stand-out player. I think he got the 1st Division player of the year! Definitely one to watch out for in the Premier this season.

Careful there Bob.. you're just after naming half of Cashel Town's first team there... but the thing is, they'll be playing for Cashel Town in the season ahead..

Michael's have lost there shine unfortunately. Why would any player bother signing for a team that isn't going to be strong enough to win the league? you guys are a bit like Liverpool for the last few years, you think that because you were the greatest team in the poast, that you still are.

You werent even runners up last year, and this year ye'll be going backwards again. And the league will be better for it. Time to stop poaching players from clubs around ye, and build a Tipp Town team again. That's the way forward.
