This is a wind up. Although, he did have some heart trouble last year, so maybe there is a health issue. Wasn't always a favourite of mine but I had grown to like him. big loss but I can't believe its true

i think the nominations should be alan leahy of peake, paul shanahan of celtic and raymie condon of clonmel. leahy to win, long overdue. think it will be difficult for celtic at cooke park especially catching saints on the back of a defeat last week. one nil to saints for me

plus i would give more credit to liam mackey at the back this year than i would to leahy, he doesnt seem to be fully tuned in
Now your giving Leahy player of the year???

I think most people from all the clubs on here would agree Alan Leahy has been outstanding for 5 years and easily Peakes best player in those 5 years and despite the events of the last week i hope they secure the result they need to win the league, the likes of Leahy,O Connor,Fogarty and Duggan should be winning leagues and cups, they would grace any junior side in the country

Muiris Walsh has resigned from his PRO position because of his anger towards decisions that the TSDL committee have made regarding the TSDL not allowing Robbie Costigan to sign so late in the season when there is clearly no rule in the book to say he cannot and also he feels the suspensions to Moroney and Burns were harsh considering the circumstances.
He feels that the TSDL are not behind the club in their efforts to win the Munster and the FAI, I wonder who makes these decisions.
Any other rumours that there is in-fighting in the club is untrue.

Graham Doyle had a great season in fairness to him, also has a great attitude towards his teammates and his opponents, worthy of the nod for the premier league award but your man, Leahy is also an excellent player, has been in the top 3 of centre halves in the league over past few years. I'd give it to the 2 if I could.
What Cashel players are good enough to play at the Town/Michaels level? I know your man Slattery is a decent forward, anytime i have seen Coleman in action his height and strength always went against him, couldn't rate him.

That cannot simply be true. Look I don't know Muiris well but I do know that he would not and I repeat would not walk away from Clonmel Town FC over the TSDL. To suggest that he would go for those reasons is ridiculous. The club are facing into the Munster Junior Cup final and a FAI Semi, do you mean to tell me he would walk away from that. Do you realise who this man is??? Are you aware of his standing in the game and in Clonmel Town? Do you know of his passion for ClonmelTown and for sport. The few players I know, tell me he is the most respected man in the club.
I am sorry, if its true that he has gone, its not because of Tommy Lewis or the TSDL. I don't think its his health, because I saw the man on Thursday in Superquinn and he looked fine. I just hope the man is ok. Clonmel Town can't lose people of the caliber of Muiris Walsh

Well "complexman" its the truth, do you not know anyone in the club that could confirm it to you? Muiris wears his heart on his hand and is very passionate and I believe this is a very unthoughtful and rash decision, I know him well and I am sure he will be back alright, he is just frustrated with some of the decisions made by the TSDL, the two aforementioned reasons are only the tip of the barrel.

I don't know are the performances of the nominees based just on the Tipperary domestic league and cup only, if so in fairness Clonmel Town haven't had the best of league campaigns so its probably fair not to have a Town player in the final 3 but if the award was going for FAI or Munster he would definitely win the award, a colossus, a role model for any young centre half, I hope for him that we do win a major trophy this year as he will be lifting it.

None of this is adding up, either Muiris is very selfish and walked away at a crucial time or else something major has gone on. I don't know him at all but I can't believe he would just up and leave at this stage. if it was a problem, why not wait till the season was over? Something not adding up here. As I say I don't know him only to see and hear. I said some things about him, that I regret. I think this is awful news for Clonmel Town. I agree with complexman, I just hope he is ok and that nothing major is wrong. Anybody here actually know the man personally and could find out?

Not a hope, the players stance is not to let Peake win the league in the complex after that happened 2 weeks ago and beat them and let them both fight it out between themselves in the play off.

You could have cracked the Muiris Walsh mystery, maybe he walked because Town were going to field a wekened side- I hope they don't and don't believe they will put that might be the reason for Muiris walking

Mmmm- well if that is the case, it is a very unthoughtful decision and I am dissaponted with him. Why punish Town for the wrongs of the TSDL. I cannot understand how we could leave Town at such a crucial stage of the season. My opinion of him has gone down. Bad form leaving the club at this stage but as you say hopefully he will be back. But do the club need guys who walk out when they don't agree with a decision. The club hasn't done anything wrong, so why not stick by your club.
This is all very strange

Well if this is true, he is not the man I believed him to be. Its a sad day for him and a good one for Clonmel Town. The club need people who will stick by the club and fight for them, not run away because of the TSDL. If everyone who didn't like the rulings of the TSDL left, then nobody would be left in football. Town should just move on without him. As was said the club has done nothing wrong and the real good people who care about Town are still there.Muiris Walsh is not bigger than Clonmel Town. It survived without him and will survive without him. They will be stronger

What is the good news on suspensions and can someone explain what exactly is the story with Robbie Costigan. he was on the bench for the Villa game. So why is there a problem? Surely if he was ok for that game, there isn't a problem. That said look at all the problems this year. It would be hard to believe that Town would allow themselves to be open to a problem in his registration. They would have ensured it was bulllet proof.
Maybe John Evans put his foot down, which is the more likely reason

anyway, why should Town put all their efforts into todays game, a meaningless game for them, they have two massive games coming up, why should they risk injury and suspension for the sake of clonmel celtics title hopes, give me a break!

Who would have thought last August that the Town and Michaels game next Wednesday would be a meaningless end of season game. Fair play to Villa and Celtic for putting it up to the 'big 2' and producing the most exciting league for years. Feel gutted for Celtic. I hope they can draw from this experience like they did from the Tipperary Cup a few years back when they lost to St Michaels B in the final. They bounced back and dominated the Tipperary Cup for the next few seasons. Let's hope they can do likewise in the league.

I don’t think Town deliberately put out a weakened side to hand the title to Peake. I don’t think they cared too much. Also given what went on, Town didn’t particularly want Peake to win the title.
Fair play to Celtic they have really kicked on in the last two seasons. I don’t think blaming Town for handing Peake the title is fair to Peake or Town. I was at the match, and I don’t think many teams would have stayed with Peake. They were super. The league is over 16 matches and you end up where you deserve to be. It’s a cliché but it’s true
Town were awful. I know they were missing a few, but if they have any designs on wining the Munster or FAI, there will have to be a huge improvement. Things don’t seem right at all at the club. I thought yesterday everything was flat and a bad atmosphere. Whether this is due to Aaron and Smurf’s suspensions I can’t say.
Also I hate going back to it, but something is not adding up in Muiris Walsh leaving the club. It’s not sitting right. I know it’s as if this is turning into a Muiris Walsh thread and look people leave clubs, it’s not that big a deal. However when you look at his profile both within and outside the club, it simply doesn’t make sense. I say this because; different people are saying different things. I was told yesterday it was the rulings and workings of TSDL, then I was told it his health. One other story was that he was emigrating to the USA!!
Maybe I am just being mischievous; I am starting to think that something big went on. Will be interesting to see what he has to say on radio tonight. I just hope he is asked and that we get a straight answer.
Anyway, let’s hope we get a date for FAI Semi and Munster Final before the team really goes stale.

I think its time to move on. Muiris has obviously some issues either with the TSDL or his health is not the best and if it is health, well that is a private matter. If he has fallen out with the club, well that’s sad but these things happen. He would be the first to admit that he is not bigger than the club. Yes it’s very strange that he would leave so suddenly with such massive games on the horizon. I am sure if it was a case that “something big went on” I am sure we would have heard about it. Given his high profile, we would have heard something. Look the bottom line in terms of the overall big picture of the TSDL it’s not a big deal. He is just one bloke. Without insulting him, I grant you he is a loss to Town but ultimately he is not that important!! Clonmel Town will survive
Life goes on.

Talking about the Tipp semi cup final, I am not making excuses for Saints or anything, I think Celtic wanted to win the game more than Saints. Hope they win out Tipp Cup Final. They are a good hard working outfit. I just want to make the point, talking about referees, game should have at least gone to extra time on Saturday night, because Saints equalised just at the end, 2.2 and Paddy Keane decided from where he was standing that a player was offside. We saw the goal, it was perfect, lines man (who was having a nightmare with decisions up to then), was gone back up the field for the re-start, so he didnt think it was off side, how in the name of god, Paddy decided the goal was offside, was beyond me and everyone else standing around. Good luck to Celtic in the final, I have to say, it was a good clean game, hard fought, it always is between Celtic and Saints, good to see another strong hold come out of Clonmel.

I'd have to agree with you there. I was a bit surprised (and relieved) when the goal was ruled out. I can't understand the linesman though who was in a better position to spot the offside. In situations like this I can't understand why referees can't consult with their linesman before they make calls like this.
To be honest I thought Celtic deserved the win on their second half performance and the effort they put in for the 90 minutes.

Of course, we would have been relieved if Celtic had a goal disallowed too, The linesman was calling Paddy to say the goal was not offside, but sure, Paddy being Paddy, decided it was and told everybody to get on with it. To be fair to Paddy on the other hand, he played nearly 8 minutes over time, which was enough time for Saints to equalise but sure that didnt happen!!!
