Thats a fair point and I do agree with you. Yes you are correct Lewis would get the blame. Surely though the registered letter is proof and that is black and white or am I missing something. Anyway, we will find out soon enough. I am more concerned with the suspensions
It is nice to see good and honest discussion here between Town Fan, Soccer Fan, Complexman and Ronburgundy. If you ask the right questions from the right people in the proper manner you will get the right answers. I have enquired about the Robbie Costigan affair. If you ask any fair-minded Clonmel Town person he/she will tell the truth. There is a very serious problem with his registration. The TSDL brought Clonmel Town to a meeting and pointed out the problem. The TSDL told Town, after explaining the problem and likely consequences, they could play him if they wish. The TSDL are investigating the registration fully. It appears Clonmel Town have decided not to use him as he has not played any game yet.
Finally, yes, it was most disappointing to see a great and proud club like Clonmel Town snub the presentation to Peake Villa. It was Peake's proud moment, a moment many teams shared with Town through the previous six years. Lets hope, someday, the management and players of Clonmel Town will realise what they did was wrong.

I have to agree with you. Irrespective of what went on previously, this was wrong. I am very, very dissapointed to hear this. Just hope as you say the management and players realise they did wrong.
Any news from Arbitration? anyone know when we will have news of their ruling

Today, there will be definitely be news on the Arbitration. Can I just add, it was a pity to see what Clonmel Town team/management did last Sunday - Saints have had to look at them collecting domestic cups for a couple of seasons and never once, did I see anyone walk off to the dressing room, no matter how hard it is to look at another team get a Cup.

If Muiris Walsh resigned because of this, will other heads roll as a result??????????

Oh that is a very dangerous question!!! Are you suggesting that Muiris was guilty of some inappropiate behaviour. I think that is way off the mark. Muiris is a man of great integrity and I think anybody who knows him would agree with my opnion. I think this whole Muiris Walsh resigining issue, should halt now. Its been going on for to long and as somebody here who spoke to him said, he wants time out. I think we should respect that

I'm not suggesting he did anything wrong at all. I am floating the idea that his integrity was important to him so he walked rather than attempt to justify a dodgy player registration, somehting he has nothing to do with

that is below the belt - sour grapes, is that all people have to say, Pike done wrong, not St. Michaels. Get over it, it's over and done now. If Saints hadn't spotted the problem, I guarantee you, some other team would have. What if Carrick get a bye into Final with Town in Munster Junior Cup, will ye badger Carrick also and Limerick Teams who look for points from Pike, will they get the same going over? As 12th man, there is a new FAI thread started, go on that, if you want to have a pop & leave the TSDL thread alone. Also if you notice, no genuine Tipp Town Fans have gone on any thread and had a "told you that would happen" pop at Pike. Leave the matter lie at this stage.

Can we leave this poor man (Muiris Walsh) alone,he must be tired reading his name here (if he reads foot.ie).
He's not the manager anymore so move on to something else and stop bringing his name up.

I hope not, but I wouldn't be overly concerned at this stage. There are always rumours at the end of every season that some clubs won't have the wherewithal to get a team together for the start of the following season, but when the chips are down in the last week before registration has to be filled in, minds get concentrated and people start to pull together again. Look at Rosegreen in Division 1.. they put in their papers on the last day for registration and would have had barely a team to put out, but they still came within one result of promotion back to the Premier again this year.
Rock get very bad press on here and in the league in general. Much of it is there own fault, and to be honest, I unfortunately think many of their players actually revel in the "hard team" reputation. It is a pity though, because they actually do have some very fine players if they concentrated on playing football.
Wait till August.. I'll bet they will be back

The rock will still be there next year and if they can repeat the way they played sat night they should finish a lot higher up the table, all they need is two or three players to mount a serious challenge, and after watching clonmel celtic who came so close to winning the league i dont see why not,i have to say i thought celtic were a very poor side, they just seemed happy to play the ball across the back four against 10 men for nearly sixty minutes, they lacked so much going forward, everything was so slow and they just had no ideas on how to break down 10 men.Rock rovers had the two best chances to win the game even with the man sent off so early..

One poor game doesnt make a team a poor side, thats going over board a bit, equally Rocks one good game doesnt make them a good side either. Clonmel Celtic still won the cup and finished 2nd in the league its been a terrific yr for the club. Hopefully more to come if they can build again on this season.

You obviously didn't see them away to Janesboro in the Munster Junior or in Cooke Park a few weeks back when they were excellent. I admit for 60 minutes on Saturday they were poor but I would prefer to see them stick to their principles of playing ball rather than resorting to pumping balls into the box. If you're judging your opinion on Celtic on their performances against Rock this year I can see where you are coming from. They also struggled at home to Rock in the league although they took Rovers apart in the second half of a league game in Carrick earlier this season. As they say the table doesn't lie and a team that finishes 3 points behind the league winners are not a poor side unless you consider the overall standard of the TSDL as poor.

I could be wrong but I think that in order to give the "weaker" youth teams something to play for they split the teams into two divisions. The Div 1 teams played each other twice and then played each div two team once and vice versa for the Div 2 teams.
