So Fairview contacted Saints telling them that Pike were trying to organise a game Thursday to free up Colbert and Saints contacted the FAI over it?

Kilmallock and you're own club moved a fixture already this season to suit kilmallock.so what's the problem with star and pike doing it.

for serpico beneift...the boro killmalock fixture was brought fwd so as the killmallock players could play with their local GAA club, NOT TO GET A PLAYER OFF WITH A SUSPENSION.....

The player isn't getting a suspension off as he will be suspended for one game and no need for Caps, Hogan pk or Jakeman have always been there for teams to ask the use of to play midweek games if they required ,Pike did Star agreed.... i presume many teams in other counties have ask for midweek games for many different reasons. This is TDSL thread so we Limerick people should let them have it back :-)

ps is Heffernan from Kilmallock still playing with St Micheals and hows he doing this season

and if ye did try to get a match on tomorrow night to free him up from his suspension i bet no other team from the tip league would be ringing up pike and tipping them off just gos to show how low some view/reg people are

unfortnately for Paul Tobin he was sent off in the FAI so can only serve his suspension in the FAI....i doubt even Pike Rovers could get out of that one!!!

colbert is an excellent player all this hype about this game taking place on thursday has nothing to do with the fai as it is a matter for ldmc (limerick's football athourity) who fixed the game for thursday due to a back log of fixtures in limerick, and its bad form out of fairview they must be worried about pike, probably still smarting losing colbert to pike and been dumped out of the mjc by pike

you need to cop yourself on,pike have tried to do what any other club would do to put out their strongest team, everyone knows it,save the paltry excuses.

Great result for 'Town yesterday - not at it (mother's day stuff to be done - priorities!). Anybody got any report, was it defending the lead for 90 minutes? What will 'Towns outlook for upcoming games be. They've got a few testing but ultimately and relatively unimportant games coming up (Michaels in Tipp cup - another Tipp cup?, Tramore in MSC - prize away to Waterford Utd and then a long trip to Donegal in FAI senior - what's the incentive). Is it a case of getting through those games with as little fuss (and knocks) as possible and focusing on the big prizes of the FAI & Munster for which they are certainly among the favourites to win. They don't seem to have a lot of depth to the squad so rotation will be difficult. In any case looking forward to some great games over the next number of weeks and with a bit of luck some silverware too.

Dwayne Burns scored an amazing goal. it was one of the best I have ever seen. Town were better over the 90 minutes of what was an average game. However, this Town side have a never say die attitude. they play for each other and for their manager. delighted for Martin Quinlivan, he got off to an awful start but fair play they are back in an FAI semi.
Not impressed by Michael's saying that it will be a Pike v Fairview final. They don't need to do that, I appreciate the rivalary between the two clubs but that is out of order. To be fair to Town, you never read anything like that on their webpage or in their club notes. Muiris Walsh is always balanced on the radio, in fact I don't think he gives Town enough credit. I hope he mentions Michael's tonight and has a go at them for that.
Still, we won't be favourites against Pike but St Peters weren't favourites last year
Come on the Town

That has been changed, it clearly stated yesterday that a "Pike v Fairview was the likely outcome. That good luck message was added today and the other line omitted. Can someone please explain how the comment 'Pike v Fairview was the likely outcome' offends Clonmel Town fans? They are not saying they hope it will be a Pike/Fairview final, they are simply stating what every bookie will probably tell you i.e. that Pike and Fairview will probably contest the final. I very much hope Town win the FAI but Pike are 'likely' to win it. Have I offended Town Fan and Complexman by saying that?????

I think the fact that the Michael's web site was changed after the poorly worded comment was highlighted just adds fuel to the fire. Maybe yet another apology on the same web site might be in order.

To be honest i saw it myself and it was cleary changed today. Maybe Saints didnt mean any harm but changing their statement does raise a few questions. Regardless best of luck to Clonmel Town in semi, it seems clear to me from reading the Fai junior cup thread that nobody from Limerick seems to think that there is any club outside limerick cause all they seem to talk about is Pike and Fairview so i hope all T.S.D.L teams (Saints included) get behind Town for semi final ;)

yeah it was a freak goal, Jack English in the Town goal lost sight of it and spilt it in over his head. That said, Town should have put the game to bed well before that. they missed three great chances. Michael's had majority of possession but never looked like scoring.
Ref John Lyons was a terrible. he simply was not able to ref the game. it was too big a fixture for him. Derek Breen tripped Tony Scully denying him a goal scoring opportunity and only gives him a yellow. Then in extra time Aaron Moroney is taken down for what was as a clear a penalty as you will see and he bottles it and gives a goal kick.he hadn't the courage to make the correct decision. Awful just awful. Michael's had reason to be unhappy with him as well. I actually felt sorry for him in the end, he was so poor. As a Clonmel Town fan I was disappointed. we made five changes from the Willow game- I think that was understandable for he wasnted to give games to fellas but still a mistake. We should have shown more respect for the Tipperary Cup. It represented our best chance of silverware.

wasn't able to attend but from what I hear, everything you say Town fan is correct. I was told from a number of people including two michael's fan, that ref was out of his depth and that Breen could and should have walked but that the pen was as clear cut as you will see.
I never thought John Lyons was a anyway near good enough to ref these types of games. He is afraid to give the big decisions but i suppose if you don't give these fellas the games we will have no ref's left.

But why settle for 'just' a Tipp cup. Agreed it probably was the most achievable trophy for 'Town but being in an FAI semi and Munster quarter would suggest that they're in with a good chance of a major cup this year. After the self inflicted loss in the FAI semi last year I think there's a determination about them this year which coupled with the pressure on Pike being the Galacticos of junior football I'd fancy Town to make the final. Which is why I think a downgrading of importance from a Town point of view on the Tipp cup and the FAI senior makes sense. There must be a degree of flatness in the side with the amount of traipsing up & down the country every weekend so resting a few 1st choice players for a couple of games would seem to make sense.

Pike or galacticos as you like to call have proven that they can handle the pressure as they have shown against st mick and fairview Tuesday night being 2 nil and 3 nil down and coming back to win both.so ye'll have to come up with something else out there in tipp:o

You're dead right - this Pike team are just the biz - wonder will they stay around to sign autographs after their stroll through the semi (I heard the 'Town players are arguing amongst themselves as to who gets to swap jersies with the Pike stars!).
