Rineanna Rovers 1 - 2 Newmarket Celtic

Bunratty 2-1 Lifford

has anyone got a report from rineanna this mornin?

MikeBassett

Seamus Farrell put Rovers ahead after around 15 minutes. Eoin Kelly equalised for Newmarket before half time and Mike O'Malley put them ahead early in the second half.

Conditions were perfect, the field was in pristine condition, football was the winner in the end

Gearoid O'Connell got the 1st. Lifford equalised and Scales got the winner.

Very close game by all accounts.

10 players started this game included 4 forwards (jimmy houlihan, shane o connor, davy ryan, eoin hayes) and 2 goalkeepers. That leaves 4 players to make up midfield and forward line.. still though jim madden came up trumps with the sambos once again..:D

2 players from A team last year are now playing B football. Made 2 or 3 signings that have made a difference. Done a bit more training and that has been the main reason.

Still slightly off the pace at the top though having dropped 4 points. Had a great chance to beat a good Newmarket B side 2 weeks ago and conceded late for a 2-2 draw.

Wouldnt write Corofin B off just yet.Great result for them the weekend.9-2 against Bridge Celtic. In fairness when we played Bunratty B in the league they really put it up to us the 2nd half.As for you Funky you'd better be in bed early Saturday night with no booze taken.:)Big game sunday.

What's this?Third Division talk? :D

Game the weekend between Newmarket B and Kilkishen should tell alot...
Newmarket score goals for fun, Kilkishen have a solid defence and great keeper...

Unfortunately I can't see the top three dropping enough points to let Corofin back in the race...

Manus B are a team I wouldn't write off just yet...
They may be mid table, but with only 3 games played..
They play Rats B at the weekend..

I agree with footie we played corofin lately and they gave us a right tough game, we were hanging at the end.

Cant really see Manus doing great they were very poor at the backs when we played them in the cup and didnt have much going forward

I agree with you bout game on sunday, it will have a big say in league.Kilkishen are good at back but are also banging them in up the other side.20 goals in five games isnt bad.Newmarket have had the better of the two in the last few years so it should be a good game

As a corofin man i can understand what you're saying but we're hoping we're not out of it just yet!, we've finally managed to get our first 11 out in recent weeks and with new signing cathal o'sullivan banging in the goals we're hoping that we can catch up especially when we get kilkishen and newmarket back up to corofin. And would agree with you about Manus, they're a tough outfit

Hey guy just a quick question. We recently had two matches changed from the away teams venue to our home pitch because the away teams pitch was unplayable.Dose that go down as a home match for us our an away one?And lets just say it goes down at a home match, then next time we have to play that team away and the pitch is unplayable are we allowed to play at our home pitch again?

Ya Kilkishen got off to a very bad start, keeper made a howler for the 1st goal then defence fell asleep for the 2nd.Kilkishen had a lot of the ball but created very little.Big win for newmarket.kilkishen will have to win there game in hand now to stay in touch.

Heard this also... Bridge Celtic B had 5 players sent off.

Also Tulla B were late back onto the field for the 2nd half so the ref booked all 11 players. I know the ref that did the game and I've seen some mad stuff in my time but this really gone beyond a joke. CL will be delighted as they will make a fortune on the fines.

This was Bridge United B V Tulla A. Good game by all accounts until ref started making up his own interpretation of the rules.
Booked all 11 Tulla players at the start of second half for arriving late on the pitch even though he did not blow warning whistle or give any notification.
Made Tulla take corners from the other side of the pitch than the ball went out because the sun was in his eyes but resulted in the sun being in the the defending teams eyes. Sent 5 players off (straight reds) in one incident as well as the managers and abandoned the game.

Not one bad tackle in the game, all bookings and sending offs due to refs interpretation.

Not his first time, apparently last weekend he sent off 3 Ennistymon players in 30 seconds.
Although we thank this guy for giving up his time to referree in our league but with all due respect I don't think he is strong enough to represent the profession.

I would have to agree with you. I've seen bad refereeing but this took the biscuit. I was at the game Sunday and I couldn't believe that he actually booked all the Tulla players, I think the Tulla subs were booked aswell. If they were late it was by no more than a minute. Tulla won a corner at the start of the second half and the ref requested it was taken from the opposite side because he couldn't see with the sun. Tulla scored from the reslting corner. He did this again a couple of minutes later and the Bridge manager was sent off and 2 Bridge players were booked for questioning the decision. I'm not too sure of the rule book but surely this is against the rules to change a corner. 4 Bridge players were sent off for questioning another poor decision. At this point the game turned into a farce. The game was abandoned when the Bridge won a corner and were about to take it from the right side when the ref told him to take it from the opposite side. Even the Tulla players said to just take it from where he was and he did but the ref abandoned the game and i think he sent off the player who took the corner. I lost count on how many cards were shown but I think it was 20 yellows and 6 reds. It sounds like it was a dirty game but there wasn't a bad challenge in the game and both teams played with good spirits until these incidents.

Good win for Bunratty yesterday out in Rineanna with an understrength side, pitch out there always makes it difficult for playing ball but none the less we're delighted to get the 3 points off a tough Rovers team.

Yes, ILuvFootie was at the Bunratty Manus game. Manus went 2 nil up then Rats fought back well and went 3-2 up and Manus levelled it up again. 4-3 and 5-3 Rats before Manus made it a nailbiting finish with their fourth. Bunratty missed penalty too. If this Rats team don't get promoted it'll be down to the management's team selection. The sweeper and the right-back are not up to it and the management seems to be turning a blind eye to it. This is their chance to win the league or get promoted at least

It was Bridge UNITED B versus Tulla A..... It was the same referee that was used in the same fixture LAST YEAR in which he sent off a player for handballing the ball AFTER it had crossed the line for a goal and in a later incident saw a spectator run onto the pitch to prevent a goal this act was ignored by the ref and let play carry on which insensed the Tulla players!!! So how in god's name was he allowed referee the match yday given that he fubbed up big time last year!!! in fact how is he still alowed ref. Seroius bad organisation by the clare league to let him officate a Tulla Bridge game given what happened last year.

By the way yday was a joke. Not one bad tackle throw-out the match!!! The reason he yellow carded all of tull's team was because of a mix up between the match card in which yellow carded tulla for "not having" the match card when he asked them for it. it turned out he had it in hos back pocket the whole time. He said player safety was the reason for changing the cornerkick to the other side yet the Sun was being blocked by the trees in tulla.....HE's a joke

yeah it's a farce that he is still reffing at all. it's time for the league to stand up and put a stop to him, rather than going around the place looking for petty little ways to fine youth players eg. for allocating 3 bookings

youths players get fined if they get 3 yellow cards?? it was like the ref yday didnt want to injustice Tulla after what he did to them last year so instead the Bridge suffered!! The Bridge had a legitmate claim for a penalty when a Tulla player handballed and the ref was looking straight at it and that was when the Bridge had 7 players left (including goalie). Don't know if the match was abondon or if it was full-time though?? If its fulltime can it be replayed??

Oscar Traynor team need to win against Roscommon Saturday. A draw will do for Roscommon.

I imagine Newmarket Celtic man Jimmy Houlihan will be pushing to start after scoring the equaliser in Donegal.

Any reason why the game is on in Cassidy Park and not Doora.

Also I see foot.ie got a mention in "From the Ditch" in the Clare People today. Our discussion regarding Mickey (Burns) O'Mahony was mentioned.
