Bulgaria Away - 6th June 2009

Are flights expensive at the moment? We are having awful trouble with Bulgarian Air and I wouldnt mind switching. I got a brand new flight itinerary yesterday morning after being contacted by them on Saturday requiring 'urgent confirmation' on whether I wish to travel on our changed flight, yet my mate has heard nothing.

Not happy with this crowd.

we had another fella book dub -lon-sofia today with wizziar. Total now is

We are flying out on the Thursday at 8 in the morning.
Flying to Budapest and then on to Sofia. We will be in Sofia for 3pm.

Anybody else on that flight?

Nah, we're going via Paris and getting in around 10.30pm. Are those flights part of the package deal you were talking about before? Who's that with?

Sorry 4 in a row , it's just a good while back we had a thread about package deals and 747 seemed to come errrrrr well bottom of the list really .

the amount you quote are too high alright but it can be worth paying a premium for direct flights at reasonable times, transfers to hotel etc

It helps to have a stop for a long flight, only time I went with a direct package the flight over was at 5 in the morning and a killer. Then instead of making your own way at your leisure, we were all shoehorned into a dingy bus, which had to leave at the same time as every other bus. :rolleyes: You had to do city tours at times set by the travel agent, and the whole stay was the minimum possible at the maximum price. Don't ask about the flight back!!

The last trip I was on in Slovakia and Prague was independent, 11 days long, cost half the price of the packages, and was better value for money.

Teh is that the bulgaria air flight at 6pm. Theres 7 of us on that flight. Havnt heard of many others though!

End of the day it really doesn't matter how you get there or where you stay, as you'll be out in pubs for the majority of the time.

As it happens we are going on BA (free drink) and staying in a Suite at the Radisson :)

Hiya, im not sure i heard its only supposed to be a few Lev in a taxi. I collected my currency the other day :)

Well I booked for 2 of us, and I gave the details to 4 other lads who have all booked up since so I presume they are going the same route!

Should be a great trip.One of the lads works in BOI and ordered our commission free Lev the other day! :) Getting close now. We're booked up since early November!!

dont think it is, the oneills one in there closes around 11 I think. not even sure there is one in heathrow but would assume so.

Provided you are "airside" which I assume you will be, then don't panic.....there are places to get a beer (or six!):D

anyone staying at Hotel Maxim? had to book an extra night as my dad is coming now too and he didn't fancy pulling an all-nighter before the horrendous 06.45 flight back on sunday. sveta's prices had gone up massively for the saturday night!! don't they know we found out how bad it is??

Usually about a week but each branch may have different days for ordering and delivery so best check with them. AIB do not do the Lev.

Not sure when they changed Paul.......the last couple of times I've gone from Gatwick I've used the Lounges

Your best of getting it from credit union they have better rate.
I got mine last week , changed 300 euro and got 550 Lev. Ill have bank card for back up if need but at 3 lev a drinks should be ok.
The rate was 1.83 Lev to €1 in credit union
In the banks it was was 1.75.
Took credit union week to get Lev in, ring your local credit union and order it today , if your not in credit union just ring and quote a family or friend name that is a member in your local credit union , thats what we did

im in gatwick at 21.25, so i will only get about a hour at the bar!! some balls, next flight is at 06.30, gates prob open at 4 so i will need an offy!!

is it a cause of bringing a few cans or what?
