Indeed great result. Was Frankie "a disgrace" to Moher or Newmarket........ or both!!!!!

Frankie was a disgrace to Newmarket mostly..booked players for throwing there eyes up to the sky...i know thats not as nearly as bad as a 2 footed lunge but according to Frankie a look to the sky is vicious..A moher player made a desperate tackle at one stage and was just about to be booked when a newmarket player shouted "come on Frankie" and Frankies response was "I was going to book him but since you shouted at me im not goin to"!!!

All il say is i feel terribly sorry for the poor lost dogs in Clare...:p

Big game tonight for both clubs...
A draw is no good for either side... a win is a must for the bridge... otherwise they could be in the playoff position very soon.
Also maybe Rineanna could find themselves involved in the relegation battle if a few results go against them
With Bridge Celtic in position of Man Utd ... its down really to the battle to avoid the drop now...

Any lifford Avenue result?

League table has been updated with two other results.. http://www.freewebs.com/clareleague/index.htm

Lifford won 2 nil, That is 3 great wins in a row for Lifford.

It's a pity it took Lifford so long to get going this season because after seeing them play last night they look like a team that should be fighting for the league.

Any match report from the Shanon derby. Oly are more or less relegated now. 4 other teams down there fighting to avoid the drop and it could be Bunratty in the playoff so I don't think any team would fancy playing them.

I still think Newmarket will be ok and First you might even be celebrating a Cup in a few weeks time. A good chance for Newmarket to finish a bad season on a high.

Looks like its over for Olympic 2-1 last night to Newtown. Olympic had chances last night but at the end of the day just not good enough to beat Newtown who deserved there win

Newtown went 1-0 up through Ray Quigley. Ray played a ball over the top for Cheeky but the keeper ran out and the ball bounced over his head and straight into the net. The rest of the 1st half was poor but Olympic had a super chance to level with Jay Regan blasting over from 3 yards. 2nd half saw Olympic trying to up the pace but it only looked like Newtown would score which they did through Cheeky about 10mins in. Eamonn O' Neill then hit a post as Newtown were strolling. Then Newtown made 3 subs with about 30mins left and from here Olympic dominated until the end. Albert Murphy gave Olympic a lifeline with 20 to go. A corner came in which Newtown headed away only for Albert to give a penalty for what god only knows:confused: Terry Duggan missed the resulting spot kick (good save from skinny). Olympic kept going however and Richie got one back with a superb finish into the top left corner. However that was the last real chance of the game bar a few long range efforts from both teams.

Poor game overall at a walking pace, no bite to it at all.
Man of the Match: Cheeky

Maybe , but from lasts nights performance Newmarket need to find goals from somewhere. Should have had the game wrapped up at half time and no offense to the Bridge but a 6 -0 scoreline wouldn't have flattered Newmarket. The amount of chances that were missed last night was unbelieveable. Panic seemed to be the way when the chances arose.

An important fixture in prospect between Newmarket and Rineanna wednesday night... If Rineanna don't win, they have a serious chance of relegation.. They also play again two days later against Moher, why isn't this game on Sunday?

Bridge Utd also have a very important game V avenue, Utd are starting to run out of games..

Just heard that 1 of Shannon Olympics Star players has just received an 8 Month Ban from the Clare League for receiving A red card after their 2 all draw against Mohar. The red card was shown to the player after the game for calling the Ref a cheating f***er..

Is this 8 Month Ban a bit harsh???
OR,
Is this 8 Month Ban Justified???

Any Comments??

Player didn't throw anything, the Olympic Chairman did, the flag was the object in question, He in return received a 3 game Ban.

I think all of this was a reaction to the 8 minuites extra time played in the game.

so it not as serious then throwing something at ref... must be a very sensitive ref if bad langauge hurts him that much

looks like the referee's report here was taken as gospel and everybody punished who was the ref ..

The ban seems a bit harsh to me. We have a player who got 12 months for shaking a referee who has make no secret of his dislike for us. He sent off 8 players for us this season and giving that we only had 2 or 3 red cards other than that the figures don't lie. He is blatantly biased against us. Knowing the clare leagues incompotence we will probably get him as frequently again next season.

The reason TK's ban went on so long was because he wouldnt pay the fine and ya i heard someone tried to make use of the corner flag but sadly missed:(

Talking about favouritism towards Moher, how about this for the opposite.
On Sat 26th May Newtown have their 30th anniversity dinner dance. Its a black tie affair and obviously a big night for the club. The clare league have decided that the cup semi finals should take place this w/end. Despite the fact that neither moher or Newtown have a match this Sunday they will not re schedule. They have given the option of a 6 pm KO on Sat evening, which is nice of them but when the dinner is sitting down at 7.45 it doesn't make any sense at all. Newtown are an important part of the clare league and are celebrating their 30 years of playing history within that league. Surely some sensible accomodation can be made in order to allow players, managemnt and supporters enjoy both the dinner dance and the cup semi final:mad:

i agree wit the friday evening games being a joke...but in this instance i feel sorry for moher who have to replay a game cause the opposition couldn't field a team last week..but clare league didn't want to give a walkover to moher as it would be unfair on bridge celtic..so in future if you dont have a full team and your away to a team near top of the table ring and say you won't have a team..BUT THEN AGAIN I DID THAT AND WAS TOLD WHERE TO GO...WHERE'S THE JUSTICE

if opposition cannot field a team .. that has to be a walkover
no mater if it is unfair to other teams...

clare league had made a crazy decision here .. what about all the other teams in clare league who have given walkovers & have been fined by league can they all appeal these now ... once again the muppets of clare league hierarchy seem to be making up rules to suit themselves .
