Any report on this hibs7772?? Team??
Darren Whelan, Derek Byrne, Pa Devanny, Gareth Quirke, Eddie Dunne, Robbie Wall, Jack Kelly, Derek Maxwell, Ryan Kelly, Seamus Farrell, Brian McGorrian. Subs used Darren Ryan on for Farrell.

Less said about the match the better, started off well enough dominating possession for the first half an hour and a couple of half chances and after that Holycross got into the game. Second half was a battle with Holycross probably the better team and maybe deserved to take it to extra time at least. We nicked the winner with about 10 left from a corner headed in by Derek Byrne.

Thomas72, your first two lines show incredible arrogance.

Granville played well for 45 minutes a few weeks ago in the first game but fell apart in the second half. This morning, they took a different approach and from where I was standing, Carew Park never figured it out. Carew Park management will have to show more tactical awareness if they are to win things this season but more worrying from your point of view is your fitness levels, I won't name names but in general it is not at a standard that you would expect at this level. Granville had three great chances in the last 15 minutes, one which brought an incredible save from Gordon Stewart - if they had only taken one of them then it would have been very interesting to see how Granville's clearly superior fitness would have stood to them in extra time.
Sometimes you have to hold your hand up and admit your performance, good or bad, was influenced by the opposition. Clearly, Carew Park aren't the side yet that a lot of people are telling them they are. A lot of hard graft on the training ground is clearly required for when it gets tight against the better sides in the final quarter of games.
Granville, to be fair, seem to be moving in the right direction and showed again this morning that they could be in the mix in 1A at the end of the season.
A good game played in a very good spirit. Well done both teams.
This has to be one the worst post I ever read on this forum...you played Carew park twice and lost twice and conceded how many goals..maybe your own management should luck at themselves tactically to see how you stop them scoring against you.. Top of the premier league and you say their not fit.. I remember the first game they ran you ragged in last 15 mins so there fitness must be alright...maybe fitness will win you 1a but it won't win you games in premier..

Love the way last week we spoke about how Newmarket did so well against pike and how the standards in Clare are on the rise, then they lose this week and it's all about how poor the Clare league is... With the hurlers in the county final Newmarket will suffer.

ref was ridiculous, with charleville 1-0 up he played 7 mins added time in firist half with no subs or injuries for either side, until fairview equalised then blew whistle. 6 yellows for charleville to 1 fairview 2 for kicking ball away after after whistle while view done it 3 times without question, at 2-1 down he was asked what was left were told 10 mins including stoppage time we scored surprise he played 15, it was timed. sent off charleville manager in extra time for questioning why a fairview player was allowed to lay down injured for 5 mins without help from sideline. cant fault fairview for refs performance they were even embarassed after game. best of luck in rest of comp to them.

Ha ha people in glass houses sure isn't the hibs team majority of ex newtown..who were relegated from Clare premier then joined park ..Ye obviously thought standard was ok when the 2 teams formed hibs.. For what it's worth yes it was a bad day for Clare teams in cup action yesterday but the blame has to lie with the committee most Clare teams have only 1-2 league games played.. And for a Desmond league person to say standard in Clare has always been bad. There has never and will never be much between the 2 leagues .. They are both miles behind limk district league .. Fact

Hibs7772 i take it your never played in the clare league then !! there have been some excellent teams in the clare league over the years as for the limerick league it has been a two horse race every year for the title the last ten years or in recent times a one horse race for pike and current batch of teams in premier league must go down as one of the weakest in a long while and dont forget alot of clubs in clare dont have the same financial backing as the clubs in limerick.

No, I have never played in the Clare league. Sure you could say the Clare premier has been a two horse race last 2 years as well with Newmarket walking the league in both years and the league and cup double last year. You cant compare the standards in the Limerick premier and Clare Premier, in general they are miles apart. I think Newmarket will walk the league again this year too.

What a silly post, you obviously do not no what you are talking about, carew were not at there best sunday as were Granville, it's all about talking your chances when they come, that's what separates the prem from the other leagues,as for the fitness levels and managers tactics, you don't go unbeaten for 14 or so games and sit on top of the league with low fitness levels and a bad manager,

Agree Newmarket & Avenue would hold their own in limerick but they would need to field strongest team week in week out if hurlers missing from newmarket weakens their squad alot.. don't agree only top 3-4 team in limerick would win clare premier would fancy all limerick teams to be capable of winning league but obviously they top 3-4 teams would win it no doubt.

No i agree that Newmarket and Avenue would hold there own but if put in a league situation playing 22 league games in a season against Limerick Premier teams they would be fighting relegation just like we (hibs) are. Also i think that at least the top 6 in the Limerick premier would win the Clare premier handy enough. As for fifty50's post, you'd really want to get off the booze! Ennis town, Tulla and Burren ahead of us? hahaha that's a ridiculous post! Newmarket and Avenue would give anyone a game on their day but like i said put them in a league situation in the Limerick premier and they'd struggle big time just like we are.
