i think that sheriff and lisselton could be there and there abouts. sheriff put out a very strong west utd side and lisselton are the best team in kerry, drawing players from all over the county.
as previously said about iorras, a lot depends on whether they are at home or not. hope they do well as they are last remaining mayo side. they won the fai youths cup in 2005 and have a few players that won that playing for them. will be tough bet but cant see them winning it.

Carrick could be without a couple of their strong players due to injury for rest of season so they may not be as strong favourites as you think.

we'll take Carrick at home so:p

this is the 3rd time we have got this far but yet to go further. need a good draw and a littel bit of luck thoug the team is there to cause a surprise or 2. for the last 5 years, we have gone out away from home each year so obviously need a home draw though we have had 2 goos away results in the past 2 rounds.

the farce of the munster cup threatend to derail our season but its back on track thankfully.

My money is on regional. Very tough team to break down, very organised, play good football and can grind out a result when things are not going there way. in my opinion a good E/W bet.

Would be a good bet referee they,ll be there or there abouts i think, but i think a team needs to have great heart and a bit of grit , when i was with carew a few years ago we had,nt got the greatest team but we gave it our all for 90 min and i think sometimes that stands for you no matter what 11 you have out on the field !

referee

They might not have the amount of "heart" as ye had or have but i think they have enough will, grit, and togetherness that will pull them through the battles which they surley are going to have if they are going to go onto win it

If Iorras get a home draw anything is possible, after last sunday they have nothing to lose so they will fancy themselves against any team, they are going to be underdogs and that will suit them.

Didnt lisselton beat them last year in regional 2-0?? are regional stronger this year...

Lisselton have rumoured to have added new irish junior player brendan o driscoll to an already strong team and will surely be hard to beat! thay have played 4 games away and 1 at home so far in this competition!! very good value bet at 18/1 IMO

Lisselton are close enough to Ballybunion afaik, and are a good side and will take some beating.
Great price at the moment I think!!!!

crumlin got to the same stage last year, might not win it but could be worth an each way bet especially if they get home draws on their astroturf pitch.

coolock town have micka keogh, top class finisher, junior international, scored a hat trick against sligo rovers(i think) in the fai senior cup a couple of years ago could be another each way bet.

janesboro and fairview well worth an each way punt.

i have played against sheriff twice in the last year, very good young hungry side and if i was a betting man @ 8/1 id put 20 on them but thankfully im not a betting man.

lisselton is a small village between ballybunion and listowel but all home games are played in the kerry district league pitch in traless. all the players are not from the area except for one or 2 though some of the players have been with the team since youths. every year 4 or 5 big names come in and some leave, thats the way the club works.

we are kerry champions, last year was the first time ever that we won it, came second a few years ago and lost the league semis about 3 years. current league cup champions also and lost the Kerry cup final 5-3 after being up 2-0. also won the kerry munster junior cup final last year and won the GH league cup (early season cup) last year so we have won alot of honours recently. FAI Junior Cup woud be massive for Kerry soccer.

as regards dynamoes, hmmm, we lost a few players but Lisselton is where players want to be, some for other reasons other than playing at a good level, but thats for another day!!!

like for example, theres some cracking players playing in the junior leagues in limerick for fairview, boro etc ec who would be great asset to limerick but they choose to play at their own level. same prob will happen in Kerry.

dynamoes are a good team and have a good structure but maybe are not the best equipped with personnel to do kerry justice. however, i for one will be fully behind them when they play cos esentially they are representing kerry and i hope they do well.

what are peoples thoughts on this?

surely this shold not be allowed? like, how can you play proper football on astro i.e. tackling etc etc? they have a massive advantage over other teams as they are used to it.

we played them last year and lost 1-0 there but the keeper was top top class and pull off save after save. on another night we would have won by 3 or 4. i play regulary 11 a side on both but my astro game suffers as ive always been a player to tackle hard and i lose an element of my game on astro thats hard to replace. of course you can tackle on astro but your leaving yourself open to injury also.

is that Mungret/Regional or Regional you played schoolboy with
Mungert & Regional were 2 seperate clubs until approx 1990 when the schoolboy only setup of Regional and the Junior only setup Mungret amalgamated and spllit again approx '98 '99.
Therefore Maestro would have been a Regional United underage player and would have played with M/R for Minor level when the clubs joined together.
Most of the Regional United players will have played underage with the club.

lads id be very wary of sheriff they are a very good side, admitedly they are one of the very few sides i have seen that are left in the competition but they will take some beating, a favourable home draw in the next round in their favour as well, the only thing holding them back is a perceived lack of experience at this stage of the competition, but in willy molloy and johnny rocks they have 2 very good players in important positions
