I heard the match could have went either way.The weather conditions didnt help either. Im not sure if Redcastle are looking forward to travelling to Limerick. It will cost a lot of money, which in honest they dont have.Good luck to Kilbarrack in their own league.I think your own domestic league is more important.

Well done to Redcastle in a game played in atrocious conditions. The 2 teams gave their all but not a goal looked likely with defences well on top.I had a feeling when it went to penos yous would win after 2 losses in the previous couple of yrs.No reason why you cant get a result in Limerick either.Best of luck from all at Kilbarrack in the rest of the competition!

Thanks for that. Good to see sportsmen being gracious in defeat. Good luck to you all at Kilbarrack as well.

Did Trinity Corinthians play Douglas Hall yesterday?

collcorforever
18/01/2009, 4:05 PM
Ya Douglas Hall won 2 1 after extra time, game was spoilt due to the storm it was played in, goal kicks were going out for corners, Must say though I heard Douglas hall were by far the better team and Trinity were not up to the pace that douglas played at and had it not been for the trinity keeper it would have been over before extra time

We've lost enough 'foregone conclusions' in the last few years not to take anyone for granted.

Bad pitch, bad weather, home town refs, at this stage of the competition anything can happen

Carbury beat Geraldines (Div 1 Limerick team) in the last round, and from the reports I got, Carbury could have been 2-0 down before they scored their first as Geraldines had 2 goals disallowed and I think they also missed a pen.

I'm a bit surprised that a redcastle side that have done fairly well this year and last in the FAI are 5/1, that looks an interesting bet... I know Fairview are strong and it is away from home but 5/1 in a 2 horse race is tempting!!!

Noddy
23/01/2009, 1:38 PM
Fairview have their work cut out for them to beat redcastle. Carrick beat them on penalties last year after they had beaten Pike 3-1. Could be dark horses to win the competition if they get past Fairview and get a few home draws

from a few recent performances by granville in the cup dis year i would'nt put it past them being the underdog and putting 1 over on lissleton. would be a wise bet

i have never seen fairview play but i think they will be to strong for redcastle especially with home advantage.Redcastle have lost five or six players from the team that beat pike rovers last year, but you never know.

iorras aontaithe at 7/2 is not a bad bet either. i no pike should be better but iorras are extremely tough to beat up there and as we (castlebar celtic) know, home town refs can play a big influence on these games, even though mayo refs are usually fair enough.

Pike's squad is big enough to play both games :o

seriously, they probably put it in in case the game is off. Pike are already behind in league games so if by chance the fai is off (which i don't thik it will be) they would not miss another weekend. For the other teams playing fai they are at home, if those games are of due to weather they could not put an alternate fixture in unless they play on the astro as ul....:D

For those who are betting outright! I highly reccommend ye all go to ladbrokes because the odds are higher than anywhere else!!!

For ex PP Lad

Carrick 8/1 10/1

Pike 10/1 12/1

Sherrif 9/1 12/1

Just a little knowhow for those yet to back outright

My moneys on Carrick 10/1, Pike 12/1, Clonmel Town 18/1!!!
