2,500 at Drogs v Pats
395 for UCD v Galway. About 15 Galway fans, including squad members. Still up 50% on the crowd last season.
There were 22 Galway fans in the away end and a few more dotted around the place. Pathetic attendance indeed. We had 264 at home to Galway last year and for match 5 at home last year 323. Sack the CPO I say!

Not an Eircom league match, but about 1,000 at Youths Cup final today between Wexford Youths and Dundalk (4-0 to Wexford with four goals from Danny Furlong). Dundalk support did their team proud.

Would have guessed around 2600-2900 in Dalymount tonight with around 150 Cork fans in the Connaught Road end. I was in the Jodi so could not see the extent of the crowd in the Jodi but a fair enough guess anyways.
Oh and those dancers bohs have are saavvvaaaggge

Jodi holds about 2500, Connaught St. holds about 4000 and Shed holds about 1000. I'd say that the attendance was about 3000.

Jodi looked empty enough down blocks A and B (say 1/4 full), half full for the middle and fairly packed down the Bohs end. Would have said about 1600 in it (given it holds 2800). No idea what was elsewhere though.

No chance more than 2000. About 100-200 people on the Phibsboro end of the Jodi. About 100 City fans and another 100 in the Des Kelly. I know Bohs crowds have been poor in recent years but very poor tonight.
I always thought the Jodi held 3000?

I actually only saw two!!!
But was told they had a bus up. Dont know if that was true but their was none of them sitting in Section A were away fans usually are.

Doubt if it was anywhere near 3,000 - I was down in block F and it always seems like its full from there, but just from the bars before and at half time and the lack of a queue outside, I'd say no more than 2,000. I'm sure if the game had been on Friday it would have been closer to 3,000
Crowd looked very small on the TV definitely nowhere near 3000,

Whats the story with the Waterford figures, the article in The Irish Mail on Sunday had comments from a club official saying recent crowds were as low as 400 ? The Avg given here is around 800 +

That was people paying in at the gate, and it was the lowest figure of the season used to emphasise how little cash is coming in through the turnstiles at times. 410 of them paid in for one match, think it was the Monaghan game. Added to season ticket holders and kids in for free (there's a scheme in operation) the actual attendance was about 700 for that game.

I counted about 130 at Station Road tonight (how many paid is probably less as anyone playing astro on the pitches at the back just seemed to hang around for free, and anyone there more than an hour before kick off also got in free).

After watching the Bohs .v. Cork game on MNS, the crowd was nowhere near 3000. Was a very disappointing crowd infact. I don't know if television coverage may have had something to do with it.

I'd hazzard a guess that there were two factors: One, exam time. Students need to study and those who wouldn't go to a football match anyway, are hardly going to one when they have to study.
Two, weekend. A lot of students would head home. Also, I don't think DCU is even that big.

Not surprised at all. If you opened LOI gates free for a weekend I doubt crowds would increase much. Ticket prices don't affect crowds too much.

Jaysus, you make them do tests to get in to Dalymount. Very tough:D
My son is indeed in the middle of exams at DCU but he was hoping to go along. He hasn't surfaced in the last 2 days so I don't know if he went

I recall the same situation with very poor crowds on a tues night happened last season for first div clubs (prem clubs would hardly fare much better if same applied to them) stupid idea having part timers play 2 games in 4 days, our crowd for eg was just over half what we could have expected for a thurs night.
tues night will never work in this lge, its a total waste of everyones time.

I think it was a bit more, but not much. I was actually able to do a head count on the new stand and counted 294 people in it at kick-off, with a few more still walking around towards it. I'm told there was about 200-and-odd in the old stand, though it looked more to me from up at the back. Something around 500 then as the overall, which seems about right, and is our lowest figure in I don't know how long. :(
We never got the paid-through-the-gate figure last night to compare it with though.

Bad day and time for a match with one of the local junior clubs playing a cup final and going for the CCFL treble along with GAA match between Athlone and St Lomans Mullingar being played. All kicked off at 3pm. Most of our support would come from the area where the cup final was being played.

Is Derry/ Finn Harps a derby? Google maps says Drumcondra to Drogheda is 27 miles and takes 31 mins to get to, while Derry to Ballybofey is 32 miles and takes 49 mins.
We're still each others closest neighbours though, and it's the fixture most fans look for first when the list comes out.

Since when was the definition of a derby determined by tarmac......?
Distillery spent decades closer to Windsor Park than the Oval is, and Donegal Celtic's ground is probably closer these days. Does that mean the whole Linfield-Glens derby thing is off now......?
Derby's tend to be your nearest team (though in cities with multiple teams, different factors obviously come into play). Hence Drogheda's derby is Dundalk, not Dublin sides. Being from the same county also adds an additional edge to derbies - even if Drogheda sprawls closer to Dublin than Dundalk, it'l all be about who's the best in Louth. If Coleraine were in the same league as City and Harps, the whole Derry-Harps derby thing would decline a lot in importance.
