About 200 at the Flansiro tonite for LTFC v Blues

Yeah that's about all that was there, surprised considering the upturn in the Town's fortunes since Perth took over. Was the banjo festival really that much of a draw? :D

Looks like only slightly over 3,000 at the LC final tonight. Only 900 Derry fans made the trip and where scattered in different sections of the ground thanks to the way the F.A.I. went about selling the tickets.

Not a great game for a nuetral or Wexford fan but fecking brilliant for a Derry fan.

Well done Wexford for hosting a great night out.It also looked great on TV.

Are UCD a non dublin team?;)

Funny, I thought the scope of the discussion was a bit wider than a single question from sonofstan.

shamrock rovers id say brought the biggest to finn park this year, but bohs were close, bear in mind we played bohs on a tuesday night as well,
.

Next to Derry then it would have to be Sligo for bringing the biggest away support to Finn Park.

Of the other sides I would agree, Rovers would be the biggest.

Dunno TBH - we always bring decent support to Tolka and Richmond, but Pat's and Rovers crowds in Dalymount have been poor this year. Connaught Street is not a great place to watch a game from, which might be a partial explanation - would people from non-Dublin teams like to say how our travelling numbers compare overall to Pat's and Rovers?

I presume you're talking about facility wise, as view wise it's one of the best in the country as you get an un-obstructed view of the whole pitch. Rovers crowds in Dalymount this year were shít, the worst they've ever had, surprised that Pat's brought more with them than Rovers.

It's not only Bohs but the crowds at Dublin derbies this year have been very poor all round. :(

maybe an explanation for our poor crowd was a good few of our supporters were at a fellow longford towns fans wedding that day.. ask tallonted about that;)

well, there was 47 at a recent Monaghan - Waterford game at Gortakeegan. 35 from Waterford.

I mean, how do clubs like Monaghan and Kildare keep going. Kildare are well and truly shagged while Monaghan seem to be nothing more than a social club.

Don't be upsetting Monaghan Partizan. They did us a good favour yesterday v Dundalk and we have to go there on the last day of the season!
400 was figure mentioned on the match report on back of Waterford today for the home game v Monaghan recently.

It's the Monaghan-Kildare games I wonder about. They'd probably get away with not playing them at all and just taking 3 points each for the season of slog ahead.

My point is that your club is having similar difficulty in drawing the crowds. I'm not going to start being disrespectful to Waterford here. I just think your attendance appears to be on the decline, yet your team is having a successful year.

Kildare County V Limerick I counted a 103.

They can't open the stand at the moment anyway until they get the advertising boards up, but your right no one to fiill it

That would have accounted for about 30 I'd say! Plus there was a few caught up in the banjo experience judging by the crowded pubs around the town that night. I would have thought about 250 or so were there in total. I was surprised there wasn't more up from Waterford considering they're going for promotion.

....while Monaghan seem to be nothing more than a social club.

Speaking to a Monaghan fan recently, that's exactly it. The social club brings the money in to keep the club going. He pretty much seemed to accept the fact that things can't improve without more people through the gates, but that they can't compete with the GAA.

Hi Pineapple Stu

Can you reveal the source of the attendances. I am currently doing a Masters and the LOI is my topic. I would like to get access to attendance figures but need 'official' sources.

Any help would be appreciated.

The one's in bold are official figures and the one's that aren't in bold are guesstimates from fans of the clubs.

It was only after I had posted the reply that I noticed the remark about those in bold and those clubs not.

What I really need to know is whether the official figures are easily accessible from the clubs or does it take a great dela of sniffing around.

What Saint Charlie said. Everything's on this thread basically. However, I would be very wary about using these figures for a masters. The fans' estimates can be taken with a pinch of salt, and even some of the official figures are dubious.

Probably only over 1,800 paid in. I'm guessing of the 200 plus in the old Glentoran stand half of them were freebies.

So my estimates seem spot on then!

And yes it was seriously horrible weather.

It's those annoying free kids entries that annoy me! The 200+ in the old stand were all probably freebies too.

1,047 at Galway United V Cork City. That must be our lowest crowd for a league game this year? Interestingly, it was GUFC's first home win of the season.
