Yeah....except Tolka.

probably due to the fact that apart from bohs ,nobody brings away fans to rovers games.
could you not work that out for yourself corkie bhoy ?

I would have guessed 2500 on assumption that main stand holds 2000.

Nobody bar maybe yourselves bring away fans to our games, and a lot less than clubs would bring to ye, same with Derry. Whats your point?

No you don't; Cork do.

Although any club which doesn't supply official figures can't claim any placing in the attendance league.

Can you not read your own figures or something?

You have Cork at under 4,000 and Derry at 4,500!

We also have the biggest attendance this year.

I have often wondered about that. Rovers always bring 300+ fans to Galway but they only get a relatively small home gate. It's bizarre.

Prob about 2000 in UTD Park, about 30 Harps fans.

A bit less than that I'd say. More like 1,700.
Drogs v Bohs - wasn't at the game myself but I was told a figure of around 2,500 would be about right.

Limited capacity surely responsible for a lot of it ?

Will United Park remain so restricted until you leave the place ? If so, it'll really clip Dogheda's wings - you'll have potential supporters drawn-in by the biggest games not being able to access you at all, and occassional ones not being able to increase their visits. All of which will impact your income now, and your support base in-future.

Both boosted because you've had Harps at home. You'll drop behind them after a few more games. You've only been higher than Cork once in five previous years we've done this thread.

Having sold over 2000 season tickets, I'd say we have a good start.
Course you do. Never said otherwise. But you can't claim to be the best supported club on the basis of "3000 there last night, I'd say". There's plenty of guesstimates here that are way off, and shouldn't be compared. That's all.

2800 at SPA V City according to todays star.

I presume its an estimate from the star.

pineapple stu

I deliberately didn't put that in because the point of this thread initially was that The Star was nonsense and some of their attendances are so wildly inaccurate (both ways) that there's no point putting them in.

I actually went with 2500 as suggested by Pete, but Pat's still seem to sporadically release official attendances, so hopefully we'll get it sooner or later.

For what it is worth I based my estimate on
Stand 1500 (3/4 full although think I am generous as Inchicore side not more than 1/2 full)
City fans 200
Shed 300
Camac 500

TBH I would be surprised if greater than 2500.

Schumi
08/05/2008, 8:17 AM
I think 3/4 full is a bit high for the stand. I would have thought more than 500 for the Camac though. I was down the shed end of it and while there was loads of room in the first half, it filled up a good bit in the second half when Pats were attacking that end. I would have guessed 700 maybe.

I agree 3/4 a bit much for the stand. Some fans move at halftime so while more in the Shed probably less on a Camac. Either way only talking about 200 in th total anyway.

For the Limerick v Shels game I was on the opposite side of the ground to the main stand. Shortly before half time I gave a rough count of those in the main stand and got just over 100. I don't really care what the figure was but I know a big laugh went up as it was read out,, followed by loads of people shaking their heads.

On the Dundalk Shels gate I would have thought 1500 to 2000 max!

oriel
09/05/2008, 4:04 PM
Judging the crowd in oriel from the away end can be difficult. For a start you cant see into the stand which holds 1,300, Im told it was 3/4 full last night, the shed side usually gets around 800, and im guessing the away support was around 200, so maybe 2,000 is a more accurate figure ?

Anyway great win for shels, shocking result for us.
