5 of the first teamers???? Who was the 5? At a very max 3, never was there 5 A team players who played for the B team, maybe these were not regular A teamers?

sorry dodnt get back on this earlier.maybe there was ONLY four then.mick wallace, sean reilly (first team captain!!) russell gibbons and shane hynes all played in that match.thought that eamon crean was on the first team too at that time but could be mistaken.

Fahy bet Urlaur 6-2 today in Milebush. Fahy had a good squad there and played some decent football in terrible conditions. Urlaur scored with their two shots on goal. Decent start to the season with four points out of six anyway. Any other scorelines available?

As far as I can work out this is how the table stands after two matches.

p w d L f a gd pts
S+F 2 2 0 0 7 3 +4 6
Fahy Rovers 2 1 1 0 8 4 +4 4
Crossmolina 2 1 1 0 4 2 +4 4
Glenhest 2 1 1 0 4 2 +2 4
Kilmore 2 1 0 1 5 3 +2 3
Westport 2 0 1 1 0 1 -1 1
Swinford 2 0 1 1 1 3 -2 1
Manulla 2 0 1 1 0 4 -4 1
Castlebar 1 0 0 1 3 5 -2 0
Urlaur 1 0 0 1 2 6 -4 0

Few interesting developments already, noatably Westports inability to score in two games. They might find it tough to retain their title this year, with the two teams demoted from the Super League looking stronger then last years counterparts. I know it's very early days, but I fancy the top two teams, S+F and Fahy, to still be there at the end of the season. I don't know how strong Castlebar are this year but they should play a big part in the shake-up too. I heard that Glenhest lost a couple of players, one to Snugboro anyway, but don't know if thats accurate? Anyone know the score there? I think it was Leo Coyne that was mentioned as having gone to Snugboro. If that's true it's a big loss to them, he was their best player for the last two seasons anyway. Again, this could be just a rumour! Any verification on this or how do people see the season going??

Cheers for that Joe. I thought he played outfield? Maybe I was mixing him up with Paul Coady.

Didn't realise you had the table on your website, will leave it to ye anymore! I had mistakes anyway.

There should be a link there in Joes Sig to the Snugboro website. It may outline it there.

Welcome to you is right. How are swinford shaping up this year? there used to be a lad from your club here all the time but there's no sign of him lately. What sort of a squad do ye have this season? All the best anyway.

Pre-season got badly interupted with a new manager coming in and leaving after a couple of weeks, but we are slowly but surly getting it sorted. We got a couple of new faces in this year mostly ex or injured players returning and a few young lads coming through.

i saw the glenhest team on some of the papers there last week and they seem to have a lot of new faces in the team.didn't see james gillespie's name down there but i'm sure that he'll feature in the upcoming game against us this weekend.another notable absentee was paul coady who won player of the year in the premier division when they won it a few years ago.is he still playing with them does anybody know?i saw padraig macmanaman's name down-surely thats not the same padraig that must be nearing his fifties at this stage??!!;)

Glenhest will be tough to beat away from home but I think the gaelic might be clashing with the soccer this weekend and from past experience the loyality lies with the gaelic for the Glenhest lads...:D

Paul Cody plays rugby for Castlebar now, hes their main player. Dont know if he still plays gaelic with Burrishoole or soccer with Glenhest

Yeah that table is upsidedown Cloggs, thought it might add to the dramatic tension. Interesting stuff regarding Glenhest, although I'd say they will still be alright. Anyone know which of the lads play Gaelic? I heard James Gillespie was playing GA anyway. Paul Coady is a big loss if he's gone, their best player the last few seasons. Leo Coyne is playing for Snugboro now. Ten four.
