The Mayo cup games are not going to count for the predictions league, partially because there are too many poins to tot up, but mostly because I didn't make any predictions! ;) The divisional cup games do count though. Interesting weekend ahead with Fahy and Crossmolina both in tricky ties and in a position to put some distance between each other. We were fairly lucky to beat Celtic in the cup by all accounts, whilst Kilmore are hard to beat on their own pitch, which should be like marble at this stage. I'm sitting on the fence and predicting both teams will draw, changing nothing whatsoever.

Its a bit of a crunch weekend alright, a win for Celtic B and Manulla B would re-open the whole league wheras a win for Fahy and S & F would see a bit of a gap opening up...

Kilmore need to win to be within a realistic chance of promotion.

Should be good

celtic b 1 manulla 2.
i think manulla will even admit they were very lucky.
celtic hit bar twice and had 3 off the line and were better team on the day

i got to see most of this game ,and celtic B where by far the better team and played the better football too, its a awful shame that this great bunch of young players wont be able to play in the super leageue if they finish in the top 2.

surely it would be a greater benfit to the quailty of the super leageue having good teams like this in it ,and not the YO-YO clubs that go up ,get hammered all year ,come back down and then struggle for the next couple of season's.(ie. ballavary bb ,achill rovers, conn rangers ,) all these teams are playing in the lower division's after the beatings taking in the super leageue ..

I agree the top 2 teams should go up, but then you have the problem with Celtic B putting out weakened side against A for example and then playing their strongest team against Westport.

It's neither here nor there though at the moment with both promotion spots being filled by 1st teams... :D

Swinford 2 Westport B 1

Could have been 4 or 5 only for the westport keeper, sweet victory for swinford over John Moran's men ( the man who walked out on swinford at the start of the year !!!!!) hopefully they can push on from here..

I think once these outstanding fixtures are played things should be pretty clear.

manulla vs celtic
kilmore vs celtic

fahy vs swinford.

swinford coming into a bit of form so could be a tight one with fahy who seem to be hit and miss. manulla for celtic will be a tough one also.

glenhest seem to be slipping down the way, another good win for S&F. s&f seem to be on a great run and dont seem to be given away 2many goals. look like PF has found form scoring the 2 for s&f at the weekend.
big win for swinford gettin one over there ex-manager...

How exactly are Fahy hit and miss? Still in Mayo cup, semi of Tuohy cup, second in the league, scored 17 goals in 6 games in league. Only 'miss' would be a 5-2 beating by S & F the morning after a stag.

Early days yet to be talking about going up to the super league, but thats what we're aiming for...

And we're aiming to win the Mayo cup, Tuohy cup, and at this stage I'd take final of conn cup and last four of fai junior :D

And win we did!:) Should have won by alot more but hey, a win is a win. Cross trying to take out our Keeper in the first 10 min didn't work the way they wanted:mad: Can't believe the ref didn't do anything about it either. Got the game on Thursday vs Celtic next! Should be good;)

Fair play. Still ye need to put a few wins together though. Another big one on Thursday for ye, Celtic B are a very good side so it'll be tough. All the best though...

Does anyone know the name of Ballyglass's ground please?

Paul Fitzpatrick went into double figures for his scoring record this season..
Finished well in the opening 2 minutes with a chipped ball over the top he took it on the half volley, went straight into top corner..
Manulla had a few A players on the pitch, dessie cambell, shane durkan, and a few more only managed to trouble Gary Byrne once throught the game.
Second half Johnny Jordan ran on to a through ball on the left sideline and totally confused the goalkeeper with a disguised chip which hit the underside of the crossbar from a tight angle. Fitzpartick finished things up from a through ball from Ger Gaughan who made a huge impact when introduced at half time ( didnt start due to ankle inj ) fitzpatrick finished to keepers right and wrapped up comfortable win..
So far so good this season for S&F....

Ballyglass Stadium? Ballyglass Showgorunds? Ballyglass Park?

As far as I know their ground has no official name. Most grounds in Mayo don't. They are often just referred to by the village or townland they are based in.
If you were playing in Ballyglass you would simply just say Ballyglass.
Manulla's ground is known as Carramore, Ballina Town is Belleek, Erris United is Carne Nash and so on. All place names rather than anything else.
Grounds are sometimes named after a local person. Snugboro United have Edward Conway Park in honour of a late club stalwart. Ballyheane's ground is called Pat Quigley Park in honour of the very much alive chairman of the Mayo League

Cracking win alright by Celtic, played some football that the A team would have been envious of. Would not be far off top of football continues like that.

I see you enjoyed that goal alright ExCiTeD ;) brilliant finish by someone who really looked on a mission.
Could have and really should have been another 2 or 3 goals. Kilmore had some good chances in first 1/2 hour but dont seem to possess a clinical striker.

Well done Celtic b. Ye played some good footie on the night. We had a couple of chances in the first half and unlucky not to capitalize but the second half was a different story altogether:( Our keeper made quite a few good saves and had a great game even though he was carrying an injury from Sunday's game:mad: Thursday games aren't really a great idea as alot of players are working away from home. It's enough of a commitment being home every weekend!

Big win for the Celtic alright. Brings them right back into it. They have a nice young team, capable of playing some lovely football if they are let.

I agree with you on the Thursday night games point, but unfortunately its the Mayo league so any player living/working elsewhere during the week and coming home weekends for games, or commuting for training and games is doing so of their own accord.
Outstanding fixtures have to be played at some stage and trying to factor in allowances for players based outside the county when organising fixtures would be a step to far in my opinion.
