Dundalk had been looking very composed and comfortable on the ball. They were controlling possession from the start. Bit of a blow, the goal, but they have the technical ability and physical prowess to compete and hopefully score here.

Midfielder (Shields?) lost the ball trying to be too fancy in the middle of the pitch, they broke, got given space on the edge of the area and the shot went in with the keeper barely making an attempt to save it. Possible deflection maybe.

Cliche but can't be missing chances like that at this level, could have 2 away goals! We look the better team so far, just need to keep at it and weather the onslaught when it comes. We're playing well though.

Ack, what a ****ty goal to concede. Shouldn't have been allowed to get the shot in. BATE haven't had much of the ball - whether they're content for Dundalk to play it around I'm not sure - but when they have counter-attacked they've shown glimpses of how dangerous they can be. Really disappointing that Dundalk are somehow 2-1 down here. They could have been ahead themselves with some more clinical finishing.

Whatever about being harsh, the standard of goalkeeping in the League of Ireland is pretty p!ss poor to say the least, and Rogers is nowhere near the best goalkeeper out of a bad bunch.

Poxy goal to give away there. Still in it though and there's another in this for us, just need to make sure we don't go gung ho and leave ourselves open to getting hit for another one or two making a mountain to try and climb back home in Oriel next week.

Doing well but the second goal was given away very cheap , Bate are very dangerous going forward but poor at the back, Dundalk have a chance here.

There's 99 senior international caps in this BATE starting 11 between 9 players. Serious pedigree.

At the end of the day though, despite a few defensive frailties, there's nothing between the sides whatsoever. Absolutely game on and if Dundalk can nick another goal, there's every chance of progression in what would be a big shock.
