We have Rob Lehane, Danny Morrissey and Stephen Kenny that can play up front. They are really good players that haven't really been given too much of a chance, particularly Lehane and Kenny. Well, this is their chance.

Great chance for these guys to show what they can do today. Can see that morrissey can be a very good player he has shown a few glimpses of that.

Danny is a class act and if not for the injury mid-season would have established himself as a guaranteed starter. He will inevitably play today and will likely do damage.

CORK 3-1 KUFC

Cork deservedly won on Monday in front of a sparse crowd of 541(approx 80 away).Cork scored after 52 seconds and I thought we were going to be hammered but we dug in and kept it at 0-1 ht.Danny Morrissey score the 2nd and his 2nd on 55 mins and that deflated KUFC but they never gave up.Garry Buckley scored the 3rd shortly after and I feared the worst but we got a goal back thru James English and went in search of another. We had only 1 real chance and didnt take it and Cork just saw the game out effortlessly from then on.It was a great experience for us but as I said earlier it came a bit early in our season after last seasons epic late run ins.
Very disapointed with only a 1 page programme costing a euro but was told the WBA game was more important and there was financial problems so it wasnt viable.
Best of luck to Cork in the next round away to Sligo!

Ended an embarrassing 0-0 there. Very poor result for Derry, especially after having been awarded home advantage, and continues a pretty dire run of form.

Wedding ruined. Call it off Brendy.

Couldn't have had any complaints if we were beaten. It was surreal watching that - like a parallel universe Derry team took the field, a Derry team who play junior football, as opposed to one fourth in the league.

With the exception of Trabzonspor, we haven't turned up for a game since early June.

great game in oriel tonight although our defending was terrible at times. duno why but about 15 idiots from limerick tried to cause trouble in the second half. tried to walk their way into the home section and then had about 5 stewards and 6 cops around them trying to escort them back over to the away section. duno what the hell they were at. same group also arrived about 15 mins late.

They were probably looking for a toilet or somewhere to get a cup of tea....

In all fairness to them they were only going behind the goals to watch the game, there was no arm waving or mock rushing or pavement dancing. Why they were allowed behind the goals is an issue for Dundalk stewards and gardai (of which there appeared to be one for every Limerick fan!)

well they did something why else why else would aload of guards be called over. plus when the little runts started to come over they were waving their arms and shouting muck towards the Dundalk fans so yes they were looking to start something.

I wasn't there but it seems a good lot of fans complaining that their was no toilet facilities for the away fans in oriel so they ended up having to go behind them against the walls. Was that cabin with the toilets not there like the last time?

Two Portabable loos still there in the away section. Away stand fans have access to 2 proper toliets in the bars, but agree as ever the away terrace section is rubbish, just as well its only a tenner in. Maybe it was the fans who ended up in the wrong area and couldnt find the ground toilets.

When they finished their marauding rampage there was only a fence, twenty five yards of open ground and another fence seperating them from the Dundalk fans. :bulgy:

Personally if I was looking to start trouble I'd pick on the stand right next to me rather than walking until I reached behind the goals and then staying there.

Some of them are little idiots who enjoy being a nuisance to stewards. Disingenuous in the extreme to suggest they were trying to cause trouble with the dundalk fans.

Any idea why your stewards allowed them to move into an area they apparently shouldnt be in??

The "ah shur its only a tenner" argument is a microcosm of whats wrong with irish football.

It's a tenner onto the terrace in Thomond Park too and its not a disgusting ****hole.

If it's anything like the "anti climb paint" in Dalymount Park be sure to take some to lubricate your car or bus engine for the long drive home.

The dozen or so Limerick fans who stood behind the goal were not causing trouble as far as I can recall. They only became boisterous when asked to return to the terraced away section. There was no trouble and it would wrong to hype this up into an "incident".

The portaloos were there last night. Where they not open? There is no excuse if they weren't open.

Our away section is very poor, but providing toilet facilities is a basic.

The toilets were there in the away section, if they weren't open this is no excuse whatsoever even if they thought there would a small turn out.

You should email the club and make a complaint. It's unacceptable.

It's a absolute disgrace from the club in fairness. Its not a massive section and over spilling occours on a regular basis , meaning a lot of fans have no option but to be up against the wall.

Theres been way too many instances of fans sitting on the wall and running on the pitch when the away team score. Obviously if we'd stop letting them score in the first place......

If people are sitting on the wall then the security firm who get paid should do their job. If Shams put Sligo Rovers fans in a small over crowded section smeared grease all over the fence they'd be the first ones bitching and moaning on the Internet. No away fans should be treated like that.

Treated like what? No one should be going anywhere near the fence. There's enough seats there for the away support. On the very rare occasion there's more fans then seats there's plenty of room towards the goals for an overflow.

I mean this in the best possible way, but if you thought that was good the first division must really be awful! We were awful. Longford lasted 60 mins then ran out of steam and collapsed. Drogs lifted the pace for about 20 mins to win the game. Longfords second goal was a wicked deflection, like two of the drogs goals. We're in the next round, that's all that can be said!

I totally agree with you because any Town fan I spoke to last night said they really enjoyed the game and it was the best they'd seen in a while, that just tells you the crap we watch every other week. Five goals, plenty of chances, great saves, a good armosphere and almost a great comeback from Longford......Good football or not it was great entertainment.

Treated like every away fan wants to go on the pitch. Most away fans want to congregate at the singing section and under a roof and support their club so there is always overcrowding and over spill on the walkway in the jinks, more so now that they removed the barrier between the seats and the wall. If anyone thinks this is an acceptable way to treat any supporter then they are idiots.

Agreed fitness levels were telling in the end. Your #27 was running the Drogs lads ragged in the first half, looked a decent player.

Is Tony Cousins always as animated as he was last night? He seemed to be giving out and complaining right from the off, mostly at his own players and I presume it was his assistant beside him.
