QUOTE=van der wheil;1586298]No one can say that now as that's for the incoming committee to decide.[/QUOTE]
that is correct.
it is difficult for b team managers, especially when you have no chance of promotion,to generate interest year after year.
when you have under 19 and minor teams, from your club,in the running for trophies, manager are(rightly or wrongly) slow to release players to b teams, particularly if they have important matches coming up.
hopefully fairview will have a b team next year.
i think it a vital link, and gives young lads junior experience at a grade just below premier.
although, with the exception of one or two promoted teams to the premier, the standard has fallen somewhat compared to 8 or 9 years ago

Don't get me wrong it would be great to go up...and we look at where we have dropped points this season we kick ourselves. But I dont think we are ready for it. We played Geraldines in the cup a few weeks ago, they are already a Premier team. And the handed our a*ses to us on a plate.

It would take massive strenghtening and to honest i don't see where we would get the players from...

with the dines promoted & league winners " congrats and well done to ye, best of luck in the prem", it's down to 3 team for promotion spot, balla being excluded.
with 3 games left each it could go any way. hibs have the points on board but can't drop any more and could be over taken if the lish win against mungret at home. shannon town shouldn't write themselves out just yet as a win and results in other game could put them right back in it.

very close and not over yet,

shannonman , agree with you on strenghtening team and cant see were the players would come from and it is excatly the same problem for shannon hibs if either of you get promoted it will be a long hard season in premier and being honest with current squads both clubs would struggle big time in premier next season but best of luck to both of you either way it would be great to see one shannon team playing premier football next season and it is the only way you may attract new players

any team who goes up to the premier is going to need strenghtening but imo dines weren't as far ahead of the rest as the league table suggests. Think any team that goes up including dines will struggle next year without adding a few players. don't think them players are around Shannon for Hibs or Town if either of them do go up

Hibs have to play Granville (A) Fairview B (H) and Charleville (A)....Looking at the table these 3 teams are the ones battling to get out of relgation so no matter who hibs are playing its not going to be an easy task....as for the Shannon town v Caherconlish could be the promotion decider, a win for either team puts them right in the mix and a draw could virtually see hibs go up...very interesting end to the season.

Great point this. I think playing against teams who are fighting for their lives at this stage of the season is every bit as tough as if ye were taking on teams currently battling for promotion. True, the bottom 3 have not shown great quality throughout the season, but players go above and beyond for their clubs when they have their backs firmly against the wall. I think its unfortunate for Hibs that they don't have 3 games against mid table clubs just cruising towards the holidays. If I'm honest my money's on the Lish' to go up with Geraldines.

And I heard Pike beat Lish in the cup semi last night. Sets up a great final between them and the Dines.

Caherdavin 0-2 Granville

Good game this. The home side were on top early on and despite not testing our keeper they controlled the ball for the first half hour. We then began to get on top and earned a penalty when their keeper took down our striker earning himself a red card. We missed the pen, but got an opener several minutes later from in form Danny Henehen. After the halftime break the home side came out fighting despite their inferior numbers and got a penalty of their own, only to see it saved brilliantly by Kevin Mc Glinchy. We then went up the other end shortly after and killed the game with another superb finish by Henehen. A very satisfactory result and performance but as usual a hard earned one from a tough Caherdavin side.
My man of the match: Kevin Mc Glinchy.

I disagree..fairview could very easily win there last 3 games alot of 19's can now play more regularly as not always going to clash on a Sunday. ..there's alot to be said for youth.. These long breaks in between games can't be helping hibs to keep interested..it's shocking that there can be a big gap between games

Think at this end of the season the experience plays a big factor in the run in. Fairview have a great youth set up no doubt about it, but the experience granville have and only need 1 point for safety i think they can nearly count themselves safe..

Those bunch of 19s are only average in my opinion - they couldnt even win there own league and recently got hammered twice by Pike who are a younger team.I agree that its experienced players that are required at this time of year.Granville are as good as safe.

A lot of talk about Granville being safe on here, I'm a bit surprised there hasn't been more mention of Caherdavin and Charleville who are both below us now and in more danger of relegation. Having watched Fairview twice in recent weeks, I have been impressed by a lot of their young players, and 3 wins is certainly not beyond that team. Caherdavin should have enough to pull out of trouble also, but that game in Charleville is now a massive one and I might make the trip out to it if we have no match ourselves. Bottom line from our point of view is that we put it beyond doubt this Saturday against Hibs. It should be some game at Glenbrook.

Cup Final: Geraldines 2-3 Pike B

Ballynanty Rvs 2 v 3 Caherconlish
