would be more worried about shannon town v cahorconlish ... if town win they could guarantee hibs promotion ;)

should be an intresting game

Think you're wrong there old git.. If town won tonight they will only be 2pts behind hibs so regardless how match goes next week hibs can't afford to lose it.. As both town and caherconlish could pass them out

Not up yet. They have to beat charleville to be certain and that will be tough as they also need to win to survive. Hibs did not win handy even though the scoreline suggests they did thought view were the better team in the first half. But they gave away 2 very soft goals start of second half and the sending off killed any come back.
What game were you watching???... Hibs could have had a hat full of goals, even though fairview did well in patches they didn't really make many chances, Hibs with a handy enough win in my eyes but maybe im a lil bias...say the match was well over before the sending off too

Anyone got the Shannon Town Result?? Hibs won 4-1 against Fairview...scorers for Hibs were Pa Devanny, Brian McGorrian, Ken Buckley and Derek Maxwell....Does the league do a Trophy or anything of the sort for Top Scorer in the league??

a disappointing season for granville zizou?with aspirations of winning honours at the start of the season avoiding relegation must put things in a terrible perspective.

To be honest no, not really. Being relegated would have been terrible.
Considering our pre-season, yes, I had great hope of us challenging at the other end of the table. Things didn't work out that way for several reasons we can now begin to focus on. But our turn around in the last three months has been exceptional. We've beaten Balla B 3-0, Pike B 5-0, drawn with Hibs, beaten Caherdavin and got a hard fought point (despite popular opinion) away to Mungret. If you took the last 6 games, we were, along with the Dines, the form team in 1A. So I think we've learned a hell of a lot as a squad from comparing the first and second halves of the season. I still believe, with a few additions this Summer, we can challenge next term. All I know is I am proud of every one of our lads. They have given it everything in the run in and we eventually got our reward. 1A football next season.

Beautifully poised. Here's my prediction, for what it's worth:

Charleville 2 - 1 Hibs
Shannon Town 2 - 3 Caherconlish
Fairview B 3 - 2 Mungret

The country boys to go up and the Cork lads to save themselves and end Hibs hopes. Fairview to beat Mungret and go down fighting.

I think its going to be a really good weekend of football.. Hibs will have confidence going to charleville but charleville have to win to stay up as I think fairview will beat mungret at home.. Town v caherconlish will be hard to call .. Town have won there last 5 or 6 games to finish the season well.. Caherconlish know 1 more big performance could do them.. Very interesting.. I think charleville and hibs will draw fairview win and Shannon town win.. Then there would be a playoff with both Shannon teams that would be a match worth watching :-)

I have to take my hat off (for once) to Fairview Rangers B lads. What a run to secure safety. Congratulations to all the players and management.
Sorry to see a fine club like Charleville slip to the third tier of Limerick football, but I'm sure they will be back strong next season.
Well done also to Shannon Hibs. They held their nerve and went up despite many peoples(myself included) reservations. I take pride in knowing we drew once and won twice (one on pens) against a Premier side. :D
Another great season comes to an end, roll on pre-season!!

Well done to everyone involved at Fairview B. Back in the middle of February, we were 6 adrift with 1/4 of the season left, and nobody gave us a prayer. And even on the last day, everyone had us written off, and nobody could blame them. But we kept trying to play football as we know how, and managed to scrape important wins together, no more than the final day win against Mungret, scoring with 5 mins left to stay up. Had an awful start to the season, and with a load of very young players, and terrible injury problems, we have come out on top. Huge credit goes to the management team who stuck to their guns all season, and never waivered despite all the problems, and criticism from certain areas. Hopefully build on this now next season, and with a lot of those young players having their first season at Junior Level under their belt, it should bode well as they will only improve.

What has gone wrong in charleville. Superb underage structures their and a big town and catchment area to pick players for the junior team. Cant understand how their down in the 3rd tier now

It's very complicated out there, certain players won't play for certain managers, certain players won't play for the A team, would rather play for the B team because it's an easier division. And then on top of that you have the hurlers who hardly ever make themselves available for the soccer team. I only played one season out there and we had a good season, fought for promotion til March and then fell away to finish 4th. The team that played this season is nearly totally different from last season. If they had everyone available they'd win 1B by a country mile, but that ain't gonna happen
