Still going to be plenty twists and turns in this division yet and nobody is gaurnteed to win the league or go up. Only a few short weeks ago Grearldines seemed invincible and now look at how many points they've dropped recenley...Shannon Town are the opposite they've got off to a poor start and now are picking up some great results and are quitley sneaking up the table...I expect Granville to really start picking up after the Christmas too.
Personally I think Hibs will go on to win the league myself but like i said anything could happen, one thing is for sure...that it will be an exiting season.

Thinking of current conditions more than anything. Bad pitches make for mistakes and goals.

Jason Hughes, Dave Ryan, Paul Danaghar, Brian Collopy, Tommy Barrett and Gary Higgins are the players I can think of that where with Athlone at the end of the season so it could be one of them. They could also just be training with the Dines.

There must be some incentives for him to be going from League of ireland to one A...Have Hibs been taken over by some Dubai Businessmen?

No I'm not with Shannon town either haven't played for a few years but I watch matches on Sundays now.. My point was if dines get 4-5 ex LOI lads they will walk the league .. Ye probably will still get second but in my opinion the gap will be massive..

Mungret 2 - 2 Pike Rvs B
Interesting game played in Mungret this morning where we finished the game with only 9 men but instead of been pleased to get a point we are left disappointed not to have taken all 3.
Pike scored inside 60 seconds with a great finish from Mark Phelan (I think!) after some sloppy defending from us but can take nothing away from the finish. We equalised direct from the restart with an equally good finish from Brian Aherne. I wouldn't say there was 2 mins on the clock & we had 2 goals! The next 20 minutes were even enough until we had a man sent off (straight red) for a foul on the edge of our box. Pike went 2-1 5 mins later after again poor defending but a good finish from Phelan again. This seemed to waken us and for the remainder of the half (and prob the game) we dominated. Pa O Donoghue scored a great header just before HT. HT 2-2. We had a second man sent off inside the first 5 mins of the second half (I am biased but I thought it was v harsh). We showed unreal heart after that and missed a pen to win the game. Both teams tried to play football all day, best of luck to Pike B for the rest of the season.

Might suit the dines to have their possible new signings available, looking at those Limerick lads up in athlone, a lot of lads playing LOI who really are not up to the standard

In fairness I really doubt the dines will be signing a load of lads from Athlone, no matter if they are up to the standard of LOI or not why would they play in 1A surely they'd just go to a team in the premier

1 of them has signed - Bobby Tier.Jason Travis who was with Fairview A last year also signed. The reason i imagine there signing is they have a young manager that has done a lot in the game and is well respected. This and the fact they will in most likelyhood be playing premier next year.

Hibs are been bankrolled by a Qatari buisnessman who's just moved to the area or so the rumour goes anyway. In all seriousness Gary is probably joining Hibs because it's the handiest for him living in Shannon and having to travel to play the past 3 seasons .

Unless your joining pike or the Boro this year, there is not much chance of winning silverware. These players wouldn't make either side

Second....Garry Higgins lives in Shannon so that's why he's probably joining Hibs, the other players have a host of clubs in town to choose from a few of which are in the premier so why go to dines?? Shannon doesn't have a team in the premier and I'm sure if they did Garry Higgins would choose them and to Hollywood hogan how would these players not make either pike or boro when they are coming down from LOI which is a higher standard than the premier...also Garry Higgins was in with the boro last year and was getting his game quite comfortably

what's the big deal !!! players are entitled to sign for what ever team they want ,, go through all the lower divisions and you will find lads playing ball that should be playing in a higher division, shane walters a perfect example not so long ago playing 3a with star b..

I just think outside of kavanagh, Colbert and Jason Hughes that there are better players around the town than those who were signed by athlone, these players probably saw no attraction in travelling up and down the country for €40 a week. As for Gary Higgins good player but Boro team is unrecognisable from this year to last year
