The studs might make contact with his chest but he's sliding along the ground and pulling out if anything. Sometimes these things just happen but there didn't look to be any intent or reckless play in my opinion.

Yeah I saw that. Looks like a 50/50 ball to me with a slightly unfortunate result for the Brentford player. Football is gone soft to embarrassing levels though, fair enough clamping down on genuinely dangerous tackles but there's no way that was one I don't think. Ibrahimovic's disallowed goal the other day kind of summed up how soft football has gone for me but the commentators were of the view that it was probably the correct decision.

That Uefa footballing landscape report and the amount of young players getting a chance in the Championship, along with Brady hopefully getting a transfer is making me feel a lot more optimisitc. From a couple of years ago where we saw no bright spots or green shoots, we seem to be in a much healthier position today.

Leicester were heavily linked in the summer but the price was a problem it was said. But they dropped 7.5 million on this lad - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36946485 who has so far made no first team appearances & isn't looking like he will. For an extra few bob they could have had a player who would be in their side, and enhancing it.

A minnow like ourselves doesn't get much of a mention but where we do it's to show a bit of a rise in profitability and revenue. Attendances are highest in over 10 years. Our gate receipts account for a high % of income. Player age averages 24.4, relatively young. In itself I wouldn't be made massively upbeat by the report but things are moving in the right way at least.

When searching search for IRL, Ireland or Outside the Top 20! No mention of "problem child" or "amazing job".

Some interesting findings overall, notably improved profitability / less financial distress than pre FFP.

Depends on who are the we. Those young Irish player figures also reflect a bleak picture which is far more important than the state of international football prospects.
Outlined on chapter 9 page 85 onwards, are an account of club revenues and expenditures.
LOI clubs only garner 3% of their income through transfers.
The best prospects like Robbie Brady are still leaving the country in mid teens.
The best older players are being creamed off the LOI clubs for a pittance and in other cases for nothing.
LOI clubs saw nothing of the recent FAI euro prize money except for some €5,000 grant towards creating a survival plan, i.e.how to manage a premier club for the next 5 years on food stamps and use plenty of buzz words to disguise the pitiful state.

Mention of Robbie Brady brings some thread relevance :)

much say the same thing over a championship season. Basically one squad for the season seem right to me, mind you we almost already have that

They certainly appear to be the most glamorous of the clubs mentioned but they can be a bit of a madhouse. How long before a bigger club comes knocking for Benitez if they do get promoted? This was their second relegation in a relatively short time frame as well, which is bonkers for a club of their resources really.
