Cheered when KOB arrived, but now....still, he did teh same against England and we're in good shape. Reminds me of happy school days in Railyway Union or 2nd yr uni with Civil Service, except everyone was drinking.

Why do we play like we need an RR of 36 when we ate so close to the finish line.

Different kettle of fish when you are NOT the underdog.

4 of the top 10 chases in world cup history were made by Ireland.

Damn it all to hell. My phone battery died in class and I missed the end. Great to see the victory again, even if we love to make it difficult for ourselves. Must grab a look at the highlights later.

Darned associates - ruining World Cups with dramatic comebacks and last-over finishes!;)

Jeez, that was painful. How lucky were we? Joyce's bails (bales?) staying on the stumps, O'Brien dropped on the boundary, makeable run outs missed, edges not finding the keeper's, gloves, Wilson's LBW review resulting in umpire's call - a half inch from being out.

That was close, a bit too close for comfort
Ireland def got out of jail with that one, phew.

Just sat down with some Custard Creams and the tea ( alright Gandpa ) and watched the highlights.
I must say what a turn around from the West Indies game - never did we look comfortable at any stage at all. Still tho if we can just beat Zimbabwe you would never know!

Gonna watch them at 11

When O'Brien got caught I thought it was over.
Fickle and faithless. Basically O'Brien's intervention transformed the chase into being doable.
Also it just so happens that Dockrell can bat a bit as apposed to that wastrel Boyd Rankin, who couldn't bat if his own life depended upon it.
In the league of NERVE WRACKING matches, Ireland v Zimbabwe, "our" first WC match, is still tops, my nails are still only growing back after watching that game.

The days of Jeremy Bray getting 100. He disappeared off the radar after that.
Rankin can't bat or bowl. Hence why he can't play for the butchers aprons anymore. I know our players speak highly of him, but I never thought he was great. His bowling in the last World Cup was awful.

West Indies took a serious hammering from SA this am. Give us a bit of an edge on the NRR if we can put up some type of performance against them ourselves. Our bowling is going to have to improve!

27/02/2015, 5:59 PM
I might be on my own but I shout for England in the cricket when I'm not shouting for Ireland - especially with one of our own as captain - christ the abuse from the Brit media is, as per usual, disgusting - I hope he sticks away 100 tomorrow and England win.

Always supported England in cricket, especially against the Windies and Aussies. Have no time for Australia as they are ott wannabe brits, and the Windies, back in the 90's, were always just short of picking up something and splitting you.

UAE looking like taking an absolute hammering from India here. 8 wickets down after 22 and only dropped a great chance for another a couple of balls earlier. A walk in the park for an India side that are bowling fantastically well.

Make that 9 from 24. Combining an exhibition in bowling with a horrible innings with the bat from UAE.

Anyway I might actually lump on SL
Its not an anti England thing at all, just find it funny how rubbish they are at cricket all things considering.
Have backed the Aussies from the start, but they display the usual arrogance one can associate with teams from down under. Might see if I can cash in when they get to the final, as I see India as the team to beat so far!

South Africa 66-1 after 12 overs. Great bowling from John Mooney who took the wicket. Poor from Sorensen and Kevin O'Brien.
