Being at the end of an illustrious career with Rovers I would like to put my name forward - Bunratty have always pleased me with the way they play - i'd have some good ideas both coaching and training - i can see alot of players moving on and would be bringing in some new faces - my coaching team would be made up of some very experienced former players - where do i send my cv ?

]In theory based on weather yes - ask the mayo league why they reverted to winter football. The summer soccer nearly ruined their league, however it might suit CL. Who knows

A balanced debate??Maybe afew correct facts also.Mayo have not reverted to winter football.Ask your own schoolboy league about it and what happened at their AGM this year when a return to winter was proposed!!

Whacker cannot be replaced - with a seasoned head on him now and reaching the heights that he has in his short career , so far winning the CDSL - having a great run in the FAI / MJ and pulling the Rovers from near relaguation last season to being the best in the Parish this season not to mention before he joined us he had Olympic pulled from the 1st division - what a manager - - hopefully he'll be around next season and can improve - but only he can answer this task !!

I agree... But rumour has it he's taking a break.. Again only a rumour.. Olympic won 1st div league and shield when he was there...will be a loss to league if gone

in all fairness will he,are you serious...he will only be a loss to the rovers who will struggle to find someone interested in getting up early sunday mornings to walk a farmers field and try and get some poor lads to play ball on it.

Don't count your chickens before they hatch Planners! currently the Rovers lie 4th in the league with 1 game remaining so still a bit to go.

2nd Bunratty 17 +8 28
3rd Newmarket Celtic 16 +11 27
4th Rineanna Rovers 17 +5 27

Best of luck to the Oscar Traynor's in Cork at the weekend, would be great to get to the final again and have it at Digifone.

I know it's disappointing but just because the league title is decided shouldn't mean that the rest of the teams just roll over and die for their remaining games.

Hopefully we'll do it - handy one against a tired NOF side to finish it off :)

Best of luck to the OT - no need to for any great speeches there - 1 MAN to play for

Is it a done deal if they win that the final is on in Ennis ?

Ya it's home advantage against Wexford in the Final for the winners of Sunday's semi.

from claresoccer.net
Wexford qualified for their first ever Oscar Traynor Trophy final with a 3-1 victory over the Defence Forces.
The winners of the Clare/Cork semi-final will have home advantage in the final after a draw was made this week.

very true

credit to bunratty, who after a terrible start came to 2nd position(so far) and put the pressure on

planners for management?? they would want to start laying the turf 20 feet in the air now so it will be ready for next season :-)

We received your CV there planners. Im only middle management at the club so I cant really say what chance you have. I like what you have said about bringing some "rougher" style tactics to bunratty.

A brilliant result in Turner's Cross today and a great way to honour Hugh Kelly.

Clare were much the better side in the 1st half and full value for their 1-0 half-time lead but it could have been 2-0. Russell got the goal 30 seconds before the half-time whistle. Clare continued to hold the upper hand for the first 15 minutes of the 2nd half. Then the Cork keeper came flying outside his box to clear a ball, misjudged it, flapped it back up the pitch with his two hands and went through his own centre-half in the process. Had he not done that it was going to be a sitter for McDonagh, ref gave him straight red. Soon after this Cork piled on the pressure and had 2 good chances to equalise in the remainder of the game, one hit the bar and the other effort was blocked. However, Clare had 2 good chances to kill the game off as well. The effort and workrate of the Clare team was excellent, hopefully there will be a huge crowd up in Digifone on Sunday for the final. This result proves that Clare soccer is well capable of competing with the top leagues in the country and is not 'a million miles' off the standard of the top junior leagues in the country like some people think. The pitch at Turner's Cross was excellent, a credit to whoever is looking after it.

I thought it was scandalous that there was no 4th Official appointed for this game, embarrassing really to say the least for the FAI that they didn't appoint one for a semi-final of a national competition. 5 minutes into the game the ref went over on his ankle and was struggling to walk on it when he tried. There was a ref watching in the stand that I think the MFA lad seemed to know so they asked him to do the line, he had no gear and had to get the injured ref's gear off him. The game was held up for close to 30 minutes because of this.

Great result and a fitting tribute to Hugh Kelly that his team will contest the final. The best players in Clare can compete nationally but dont kid yourself that this in any way reflects the strength of the Clare league. Players are honest and will do their best but a league with 5 youths teams has no long term prospects of improving.
Where are the players going to come from?

As a Corkman watching the game I congratulate Clare(wifes from Corifin).I thought it was a poor game but Clare wanted it more an the attitude from the Clare players, management an supportors was top class.

Could of been a bit more comfortable score wise but in the 2nd half if Cork took their chances 3 or 4/1 could of been understandable.Clares best chances came on the break an towards the end.

Best of luck though,an a fitting farewell to your manager,,,,just go on an win it for him,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Look at the goal scoring charts. Ryan Kelly has been fair quality all season and carried a lack lustre Bunratty outfit. Prob best player on his day in the league

Hey Mod, can we get rid of this agrophobiac before he shuts the thread down with his blatant attempt to get a cheap rise out of us. Planners is talking much more sense.
