Question -
Does a player need to actually sign a form in order to be eligible to play or can it be signed for on his behalf with consent - its just that I know a player who will be playing with a particular club and there may be a question of his eligibility -
Anyone know
planners this is only a problem if the player doesnt want to play for that club. it would be near impossible to prove a player didnt sign the form if he is happy at his club sure all he would have to say is he did sign it. no rule on it as far as im aware

well obviously there is a rule against signing a form illegally planners. Common sense wold tell you that. Unless maybe the player cannot write which is highly unlikely. So what is your point?

Thanks OR - I wasn;t getting at any individual , I'm sure that alot of signatures on the registration forms with different clubs are " forgeries"
Who are you talking about - who signed for ye ?

Does anyone know how the league can stop a club from changing to Limerick from Clare.
When the season is complete surely that is the end of the club registration with the League, or is there other rules about changing leagues.
Maybe some of the old Newtown lads might have some information on this.

F.A.I. Rules
RULE 68. LEAGUE TRANSFERS
(a) A team or club desiring to transfer to a different league at the end of a season must obtain a transfer on an official form
(supplied by the Divisional Association) and signed by the Club, the League from which they are departing and the League they propose to enter.
Such a request must be made on or before 1st May in any year.

It's between avenue and rock with maybe Newmarket sneaking in there. Rats have dropped too many points. Rovers are punching way above their weight.
Predictions for this week wins for avenue bridge utd rock Newmarket and bunratty.
Anyone agree

Avenue dropped their first points last Sunday in a derby game against Rock Rovers. They will get back to winning ways tomorrow though after what I seen from Burren last week.
Well done to Clare youths today who beat Combined Counties to qualify for the last 16 of the youths inter league.

Good game yesterday. Razor took his goal well:D Olympic the better team in the first half, Rats came back into it and had lots of posession in the second. Probably deserved their equaliser. Both teams had chances to win it in last 10 mins.

Have to agree with that...
It really was the Paddy Dunne show though. He has to be the center of attention in every game he refs. It was so stop start yesterday and the game never flows when he is in charge. He treats players, managers and supporters like 10 year olds. No enjoyment in the game when he is involved.

Yes gearysfan Avenue are still top and top by a nice few points. It's their league to lose now in all fairness. Although its a big help when you get to play the worst team in the league twice in the opening 8 games when other teams haven't played Avenue or the Burren once yet!
That was a nice early Christmas present to Avenue from the league, they take a hit losing to Rock last week and then they're handed the easiest possible game the following weekend against the Burren who are nothing but a shambles at the moment. What was the story with that, rediculous

22/12/2009, 12:47 PM
Dont agree wit that statement at all, everybody has to play the same games and i m sure many teams would be glad not to have played burren away in probably the worst weather conditions possible to play a game in...gale force wind, hailstone, rain and freezing cold! results elsewhere were surprising though

I agree wit that statement nobody should have teams played twice already. Avenue still have to play bridge Celtic and Newmarket yet. 5 of their games have been against the bottom 4 teams. Nothing won yet. But theirs to lose
lads the shambles of clare league has had fixtures like this for years ..
cannot understand how any team can have played opponents home and away already and have not played other teams once .. how hard is it to organise fixtures properly at start of season

good to se the irish mentality of knocking those at the top come out again, and the anti avenue lads back out in force,.
looking at the league tabel burren quite clearly arent the the worst team in the league
and avenue have played 8 almost half way thru the set of fixtures so its not like they played burren 1sr and 2nd an got handy points. by all accounts it was horrible conditions up there so lay off the conspiracy theories and concentrate on catching them, not using excuses etc to belittle them
happy xmas ;-)

Will this not be olympics 3rd game in a row with paddy dunne. That's very unfair when fighting relegation to have the worst ref alive doing 3 games in a row
in fairness not all olympic results down to referee, having said that paddy is brutal but all you can do is try and get on his good side and don't forget he ruins game for both teams :D

Avenue youths playing in a national competition the same day. But I agree that some fixtures are mad. Olympic v rock and rovers v bridge Celtic will have eachother played twice again. Alot of these teams have yet to play some teams in league
Then why are Avenue B down to play? They have more youths in their squad than the A team

There won't be any fixtures this weekend with the weather that's expected!! Time for the league to demand that under-soil heating is compulsory.

31/12/2009, 12:12 PM
Demanding under-soil heating is ridiculous. Several clubs havent even their own pitch to feckin heat. This wont happen till at least 2012. Happy new year!!!
