this might shock some people here but occasionally the better team looses matches..
and maybe better players doesnt necesserally mak a better team

Regional 0 Fairview 1

Big win for Fairview, completely undeserved, goal in the first half by Heffernan

Thats a bit harsh, we huffed and puffed and being the home team should have created
more. Bad game won by a deflected goal.

big win for pike yesterday but i think the sendin offs ruined the game. the first one was for a second yellow card. i didnt see what he was booked for and then the players fist tackle in the game he gets a second card. the second red card was for nothin as far as i could see.

pikes first came from a free kick and alan barry finished it well. i think pa malloney got the second and the third came when marys wanted the ball put out of play for a injured player who never went down. 3-0 half time

in the second half pike got a penalty for nothin and the game was over as a contest, colm enright scored a screamer for 5 and marys got a soft pen when the lino flagged for a penalty against mcgarry.

It's a joke how ray lynch can get called into junior international squad when he couldn't make regional team last year. Don't know what Pa moloney has to do to get a trial even what competions are broadford left in I'm sure Gerry Smyth didn't go down to see them

IMO pa moloney is the best finsher in the town but he plays up to the crowd iv seen him having words with people on the sideline stupid thing maybe that could be one of the reasons he is not getting picked but as i football player he has everthing shhot good in the air etc etc

Balla Have appealled againist the 2 sendings offs and the awarding of the 3 points from the Balla V Janesboro game...we will soon find out if the ldmc, MFA, and the Refs have any balls..
IMO a disgrace....they should take their medicine like most other clubs have, and i include my own club.

Surely they don't have a leg to stand on if the ref puts in his report everything that is mentioned here that happened in the game. Can anymore be done if their appeal falls through or is it just a case of them chancing their arm and if they get a replay excellent and if they don't what harm?

leather
18/02/2010, 11:06 AM
The MFA could increase the suspensions of both players and also increase the clubs fine...There were plenty of members of ldmc at the match in question and it would be interesting to hear their accounts... also cant see the refs been too happy...and i dont blame them..

serpico
18/02/2010, 11:25 AM
Apparentley the chairman of ldmc said he didn't see any punches thrown which is what paudie got banned for.according to ref he threw a few punches.so maybe he might get away with it

leather
18/02/2010, 12:09 PM
So i take it that the chairman of ldmc's Opinion is more important than the referee's report....very hard to see anything through green and white tinted glasses.....That could lead to a right can of worms...there were more than the chairman present..

Goals4fun
18/02/2010, 12:17 PM
surely the ref's report will over rule anything seen from the sidelines......

maybe a good time to call for video evidence...lol

wonder what decision the 'numskulls' will make, could leave things open to a ref strike if they are not careful

blackjack
18/02/2010, 1:32 PM
as far as i know the two players can play away while the appeal is penden that probaly is the reason they have appealed.as for the chairman looking through green and white tinted glasses again as far as i know any ldmc committee member at the match can not put in a opinion it is down to the refs report and the refs report only.(remember the trouble at the pike v balla match last year and the chairman of the ldmc was at it and he could not say what he saw) (thats my ten cents worth anyway)

serpico
18/02/2010, 3:22 PM
Everyone knows that refs reports can be a bit ott.a committee member can voice his opinion if he is not part of offending club I believe.if he didn't see punches thrown he shouldn't have it in his report and not be goin on hearsay.

Balla didnt know till the Tues after the game that Hickey was sent off, he was never shown a red and no one knew about it, surely thats not right. Can a ref decide when he goes home and write his report to send someone off I dont thinks so.

serpico

Saw no punching a lot of handbags alright if the ref had given 2 reds there would have been no problem.it was a bad mistake by the ref bit he is known to make them anyway

the fact that dunphys red card in particular has been appealed tells you everything you need to know about the general perception on football his club has.

:ball::ball::confused:
What could they possibly be appealing on?

they are hoping to make a liar of the referee the best of luck to them cos the refs puts the finger on dunphy causing at least 6 infractions and hickey i can't see mfa reducing the bans cos the referees will want answers and probably not referee balla anymore with out 3 officals,i've heard the report they picked on a 17 year old that they couldn't handle

serpico
19/02/2010, 6:45 PM
That 17 year old wasn't on the pitch long n I don't think he was doing that much damage anyway.whose going to pay yere linesmen if ye go down that road you don't expect the clubs to do you?you wouldn't mind if you were getting value for money but you're not.

i was watching the match spud and quinny got yellow cards for trying to trip him he's a very fast player and plus from what i was told by a member of ldmc the referees can insist on three officals any time on any team and nothing the clubs can do about it or they end up with no match, its bascially another form of punishment for balla home or away.look at the lawson cup semi's last year view vs pike three officals, borro vs mungret one referee?its going to happen to balla like a couple of years ago when no referee wouldn't go out there after what happened to mark gough cos i was a delegate member in ldmc when that happened
