dont even compare him to boro schooling level,s ha the boro might not be good at school but the produced some good players just look at some the prem teams the have boro school boys. so the must ave been playin ball instead of study.

Mungret 1 - Boro 3

oscar

Mungret/Reg 1-3 Boro

Boro go 5 points clear with this win, played in windy conditions the first 3 goals came in the first 10 mins,Boro took the lead when Darren Naughtons neat pass in the box found Shane Clarke and he vollyed into the top corner,Mungret got right back into it within a minute due to sloppy defending and almost straight after the restart Christy O'Neill played a great ball through to Naughton who made no mistake,Boro had a goal disallowed for nothing really, the Mungret keeper was dropping balls all day and no surprise when he flapped at a corner, was at 6's and 7's,completly lost, haplessly rolling around in the mud,the ball ended up in the net but somehow F O'Neill gave a free out,James Hayes could of streched the lead but his shot went inches wide HT 1-2
the wind picked up considerably in the 2nd half and Mungret pumped long ball after long ball into the box but Boro stood firm,Mungret had a player sent off in injury time for an awful challenge and minutes later Jamie O'Sullivan was brought down in the box after a mazy run:rolleyes:Shane Clarke made it 3 after his effort was saved
best for Boro Tom Clarke,Darren Naughton and James Hayes

why not they have as good a chance as any of the top teams
I agree after all its not that long since the boro won the league. have a right squad this season. Shane Clarke is a class act wiht him in your team you are a match for any top team.

Don't think Regional will have it all their own way but they are far better equipped for this sort of match than last year. Have seen them a few times this season and they would be the strongest side in the league as things stand. Fancy them to get a result out there. They completely outplayed pike a couple of weeks ago and were physically stronger too. Havent seen Pike kept that quiet for a long time. If it wansnt for their slow start they could be out of sight.

The Lawson Cup is a knockout cup open to the "A" teams of every club in the district league. Pike have won the league for the last two years, ahead of Fairview last year i think. The Fran Mullally cup is awarded for winning the Premier League. Try www.limericksoccer.com (http://www.limericksoccer.com) for additional info

Geraldines won one in the late 90's, beating Fairview in the semi final in Jackman Park 1-0 and then Mungret 2-1 in the Final also in Jackman Park a few weeks later ..........and I think that was one of if not "the" last Simmington Cup.....

Friday will start dry but with cloud building up during the morning. Rain will develop in the west by midday and will spread across the country during Friday afternoon. The weather will then turn showery again for Saturday, with frequent showers on the western and side of the Ireland but less showery further east. And it will be quite windy on Saturday too. The showers will be less frequent on Sunday and it will be a much drier day overall. The wet weather will continue through most of next week as well. It may stay dry for daylight hours on Monday, but heavy rain will develop through Monday night and Tuesday. Temperatures throughout will remain close to current values with daytime maxima around 10 or 11C.

Send it to the LDMC, maybe they might get the message that there is bad weather out there and calling games off on Saturday would be an intelligent thing to do instead of having teams travel Sunday morning:confused:.

simmington cup was played for recently ,the 4 teams that went out of town competed for it ,but there was,nt really much interest in it,the last one won when 1 team went out of town ,i reckon fairview beat pike 1 nil in pearse stadium with john white scoring the winner ,he also scored the winner in fai and munster junior finals the same year ,i could be totally wrong tho,

......It’s a very unsettled outlook as this current cycle of wet weather continues. Thursday will probably start fairly dry but showers and spells of showery rain will occur over most parts of the country through the day. Friday morning will be generally dry, but then more wet and windy weather will spread up from the south through the second half of the day. Some heavy falls of rain and possibly very windy conditions will develop through Friday evening and early night. The southwesterly winds will have eased by Saturday morning although the day will still be quite windy. Otherwise Saturday and Sunday will be showery days, the showers more frequent over the western half of the county, with the eastern side of Irleand drier. Although it continues to stay wet, temperatures will be around normal and there is no sign yet of any real cold frosty weather.....

Outlook

The outlook is for the very wet weather to continue for the rest of the weekend and early next week as well but after a cold start it will be getting gradually milder and although still unsettled there will be more in the way of dry spells developing. Sunday: Cool and windy with a mixture of sunny spells and scattered heavy rain or hail showers and a risk of some thunderstorm activity. Highest temperatures 9 or 10 degrees in a blustery southwesterly wind easing later. Further heavy and possibly thundery showers Sunday night. Fog patches also. Monday: A cool, fresh day with sunny spells and scattered heavy showers. Tuesday & Wednesday: Still rather cool with sunny spells and scattered showers. Rest of next week: Milder as southerly winds become established. The winds will become strong and possibly reach gale force at times bringing in some rain from the Atlantic but more in the way of dry spells than at present.

Very windy on Wednesday night with spells of rain and fog over hills. It will be mild with no frost. Thursday will be mild and very windy with further spells of heavy rain or showers and strong, gusty south to southwest winds. Top temperatures around 12 to 14 degrees. The winds will moderate somewhat during the evening. On Thursday night the rain will clear to showers and it will turn cooler with the winds easing further allowing some mist and fog patches to form. Friday will be a brighter fresher day with a mix of sunny spells and scattered showers, some heavy. It will be a cooler day than the past few with fresh Westerly winds. It looks like it will become mild, wet and very windy again for Saturday as rain pushes up from the South.

That means nothing!!if corbally played lik they did against balla in the tuohy they'd have no problem stayin up too..one good game has no bearing on who is going to stay up..plus corbally after signin back three of their old heads which will help them alot with such a young team!
