Summeville 5-0 Star

Wost first half performance by Star I've witnessed in a long time, first goal was an OG, second & third were from mistakes and 4th and 5th were scored when Star were down to 9 men.

Referee was very poor, and laughed at some players when they asked for decisions, told players shut up or be sent off, he sent off 2 Star players for two soft challenges (one similar challenge was made by a Summerville player 10mins later but yet he didnt even book their player), but then again what would expect these days...........I dont normally critisize refs, but in fairness its refs like this one that would turn players off playing football.

I don't know the ref in question, quite young, and wore an "Eircom League" badge on his jersey, but if this guy has anything to do with the LOI god help us..............

All that said, Summerville were good value for the win and deserved it..

Wasn't A.Keogh by any chance was it?

I heard a croom player pushed the ref and the ref stopped the game. Could be a lengthy ban for the player in question and ya the three points will go to Prospect. Some 'team' player eh.

jasus deffo wouldn't read too much into shannon leading s'ville 1 nil, weather was brutal, s'ville goal kicks just held up in the air & blew backwards or straight out to touch, not to mind water logged pitch, 1 nil playing against that kinda wind for 35-40 mins not too bad really, would have been interested to see how they would have gotten on in 2nd half with wind favouring them, that said ref deffo had to call off the game, v dangerous guy's just fallin around the place could have been some serious injuries caused
i have to say shannon town were the way beter team on the day.. i was out watching it and from what i saw shannon town were the only team trying to pass the ball...

Played them sunday...they are not that bad...they play a very high defensive line which leaves room behind and if you have pace in your side you'll hurt them...dont think they'll go down though

watched granville in preseason and thought they wer average at best.there biggest problem last year was they couldn't score enough goals and it seems they did not fix that. also there back line is slow enough with that ollie penny in centre back

massive loss to any team is thomas, wishing him a speedy recovery good time for tom, that will set boro b back dont think they have anyone in the team that would score 3 in one game let alone 6. as i said speedy recovery to thomas mac.

no but with the run in we were
given at the end of last year anything can happen. I can understand them tryin to get as many games outta the way as possible as
