I wonder did keith think himself that he would be fit by the Crotia game? Very tough on him, considering his goal against armenia away was probably the most important of the campaign.

Good to hear the forgotten man returns. I hope Trap keeps an eye on him with a view to Germany. With all the debate over midfield/left-wing, he's been a bit left behind. But if he gets back to speed quickly, Keith could be the compromise candidate to play left midfield. Would certainly prefer him to Cox anyway.

'Birmingham boss hits out over rumours of bust-up with Fahey': http://www.independent.ie/sport/soccer/premier-league/birmingham-boss-hits-out-over-rumours-of-bustup-with-fahey-3342906.html
ANGRY Birmingham boss Lee Clark has hit out at internet speculation that Keith Fahey has taken a break from football due to a run-in with the manager.
The Dubliner was given leave to return home to Ireland seven weeks ago due to a family issue and there have been suggestions that he will soon go back to England.
However, while Fahey has kept his head down after the club requested that his privacy was respected, inaccurate rumours have continued to circulate about the reason for his continued absence.
Clark addressed the matter after further theories were brought to his attention.
"There has been speculation with regards myself and Keith again," he said.
"It keeps rearing its ugly head and it's disappointing and frustrating because I have got a good relationship with the lad, we get on really well and I'm missing a hugely talented footballer.
"But I am missing him because, although football is very important to me, what goes on with my family is even more important and Keith has got an issue back in his homeland.
"And if I have got to keep saying it, I will – this is the truth. It is open-ended. When he comes back, it will be when Keith Fahey feels it's right to come back.
"And there's no way that, even if we had had a so-called bust-up, he would have gone because he would have been in breach of contract – and he totally isn't.
"He has got a situation that needs to be sorted out and sorted out in his own time."
"I think people have got to know me quite well here now and they know that I am open and honest," he added.
"And if there was a situation, I would just come out and tell the public.
"I am a fan myself, so I wouldn't like to think I was being misled. If there was a situation that needed to be rectified, I would do it."

ON the bit where he says they didn't have a bust up, and pretty much all of the article after that.

Is the bust up the reason for Keith being away? or had they a bust up over Keith wanting to take leave for family matters?

very possible clark is full of **** though. And with B'ham fifth from bottom, if a bust up has occurred with Fahey then the last thing he needs is to have it out in the open considering he is under pressure due to their dismal showing since he took over.

Read the article, there was no bust up.
Dodge has disputed Clark's claim that there was no bust-up between himself and Fahey by calling Clark a liar. That would suggest Dodge believes there was a bust-up. I trust that Dodge is in the know.

Why would he be go home if it was a bust up? Surely he'd be released, sold or loaned rather than go home where he would be of no value to the club?

Depends on the nature of the bust up. Hypothetically, if the bust up involved the manager being out of order, the player could be excused going home as the club don't want to a) air their dirty laundry in public and b) put anything in the way of the player moving on in the next transfer window. A window that only opened last week
Hypothetically, the player could be back in training now with a view to a move away from that club once he's proved his fitness
Hypothetically

I'm not saying that what you're asserting above is incorrect but that tweet wouldn't really be in conflict with Lee Clark's statements.

Statement from BCFC.com:
Birmingham City is happy to confirm that, as a period of leave to deal with an important family matter comes towards an end, midfielder Keith Fahey has resumed trainingThe circumstances that required Fahey to return to Ireland mean that he has begun a period of training with Dublin club, Shamrock Rovers, before his planned return to Blues in a few weeks time.
Explaining the decision, manager Lee Clark said: “Keith has been out of the game for quite some time so his and our interests are best served by him doing what amounts to a full pre-season and we have requested that he would do this with the top club in Ireland – Shamrock Rovers.
"I am pleased that Keith has now started this programme and I expect it will hasten his return to first-team action.”
