I only realised now that it was Barry Ferguson who patted Koscielny on the head celebrating the winning goal. What a tw at. I don't expect footballers to be saints but sometimes the lack of basic sportsmanship you see is unbelievable. From a toe rag such as Ferguson though, it's no surprise.

Yeah, I was fairly disgusted to see that. Like something a cocky 11-year old might do in the schoolyard. As you say though, from Ferguson it's no surprise. Remember his pathetic v-signs while on Scotland duty? What a wally.

To put it in context, Birmingham were upset that in the first half Koscielny had gone over the top of the ball and almost cut off Lee Bowyer's ankle (though I think he actually missed him completely).
i love that most people, especially CR, have come round to rating Fahey now. Excellent.

Nothing worse. The bully on the school playground stuff. The first thing that came into his mind was to shove down Koscielny's head says it all rather than celebrating with his own team mates. Souless ****.

Wow wow wow one good free kick for Ireland does not make a good player. He was far and away the worst player on the pitch against Slovakia.

The consensus at the time was that he was one of the best on the night. Nice cross for the goal too

He did play well especially first half. Always seemed to create enough time to play the passes he wanted to play. But as soon as Steven Reid was switched from right back to central midfield Reid controlled central midfield.

Fahey is just getting lucky. It will all end with him back at pats in a couple of years. Isn't that right CR?

I think he's a decent player but not up to international standard, much like Paul Green. At least Paul Green works hard, something I haven't seen Fahey really do much of in the green shirt.

Totally disagree with CR. In the last few games he's played I don't remember him losing the ball very often. He's a very tidy player with a very good football brain. A very good squad member to have and hasn't let us down since his call-up.
What has he got now? 2 goals in 5 games or something? Better than Paul Green certainly, though I do admire Green's attitude

Fahey in the starting line-up away to Newcastle today.
72:15 GOAL - Keith Fahey:Birmingham 1 - 0 Coventry
Keith Fahey scores a headed goal from deep inside the penalty box. Birmingham 1-0 Coventry.
Adam Rooney provided the assist for the goal.

Adam Rooney provided the assist for the goal.
Just seen the replay, Ridgewell put in a long cross from the left channel about 50 yards out from goal, Rooney made a nice run and great header that came back off the post. Rooney picked up from the rebound from a tight angle, put it back across the face of goal, Fahey got there just ahead of his marker and hit the back of the net from about 8 or so yards.

Looks like Fahey is doing the same mustache thing as Meyler, though Fahey's is a bit better. Excellent second half of the match, Brum have come back from 2-0 down, Fahey has done OK so far. Missed the first half but Colin Doyle is playing as well and hasn't always been convincing.

Looked really dodgy, an accident waiting to happen. Thankfully well down the order!!

He's been getting a lot of stick off Brum fans lately. Was booed by some sections when he came on as a sub today. Not acceptable.

Goal Fahey...to paraphrase Matt Le Tissier: About 20 yards out, struck really sweetly, left footed off the post...Luke Steele no chance.

Fahey put Birmingham 2-0 up in the first half against Crystal Palace.
Keith Fahey scores a goal from outside the penalty area to the top left corner of the goal. Birmingham 2-0 Crystal Palace.
Owen Garvan pulled one back for Palace with a "fantastic" strike. It's 3-1 at half time.

I don't think I'd credit CR with figuring former Eircom League, League Of Ireland, and the acronym LOI to be the "same" thing.

Yep, why would I expect an Irish person to know the 3 initial acronym for his national league.
hasn't been eircom in 4 years either.
I don't even mind that you were looking for a bite. Just happy that Fahey has proved so many of his doubters here wrong.

I know it hasn't been Eircom, but you dont remember, as i do, he referred to it as Eircom league about a year or so ago, thats the point.
Also i wasn't having a bite at anything, i regularly post on this forum, and don't just sporadically appear on a Thanks when someone has a go at someone else, or add indifferent and one liners that have little to do with the subject at hand(generally anyway :P).
You over-estimate CR, but he will hardly admit to not knowing it now.

Gutted for the guy, fair play to him for giving it a go. As documented in this thread, I'm not his biggest fan, but I wouldn't wish an eleventh hour injury on anyone, especially before such a big tournament. We wouldn't be in the tournament without his crucial winner way to Armenia.
