Just loaded this up last night having got it for Xmas.
Holy feck Harps are woeful and a budget of 4.5k a week in the premier? It's going to be a long, long season.
So are there any decent players I can get for free and feck all wages but who are up to the premier? I've already got a few decent players from Letterkenny and Fanad!
First mad experience was that I set up friendlies against Everton and Newcastle reserves in the hope of making a few bob... but the crowds were awful so I didn't.
Plus both clubs sent their full teams and beat the living crap out of me.
Great start to the season- 3 draws and 4 wins! Steven O'Flynn doing rightly for me.
The wheels are bound to come off though.
F*ck Sake Mr A you posted saying you started a game at 5:20pm and by 12:48am approx 7.5 hours later your in season 3? I think you have a problem. Your right though playing with Harps is tough I'm in my 4th season, best I could do was a 7th place finish in prem 12 points above 8th but 8 points behind 6th

Anyway can anyone recommend a good creative midfielder/right-back/left-back for my Derry City team? I'm in season 2010, with a budget of £1.1M.
danny grainger is a great left back. Midfield - david robertson was good for me at bohs and both stephen o'donnel and gary deegan are quality. Ryan France is a good right back/right midfielder that can usually be signed on bosman and chris casement also develops into decent right back. If you're still near the start of you're game there's a peruvian (international) centre half called Miguel Rebosio who will sign for you on bosman. His wages are about £900 per week but by the third season his demands will have fallen to about £650 per week. Another option for the left back position would be eoin powderly of kildare county. If you give him a run of games he will develop into a fantastic player and he can also play on the wing. There was another good left back I had but can't remember his name and my laptop is broken() so I can't check it out...

Do you really think that I'm the sort of person that would get so absorbed that I'd play straight through 3 seasons?
You're probably right :( There's a reason I haven't installed it up to now.. but after Saturday night I've fallen back in love with football :)

Grabbed Powderly and France, though have to wait a few weeks til transfer window opens so they can play.
Playing Mark Farren and one Damon Gray up front at the moment.
Get Philip Reilly from Galway as a left back,or Shane Tracey. Both will eventually move on to England though but you'll get a good price for them,100k.Also Shaun Fagan from Galway Utd aswell, quality midfielder. Both of those players will go to Derry i'd say.John Russell as a AMC will run the show for you there.

In July 2011 now, the Corkies just made it through to the group stages of the Uefa Cup.
Lost 2-0 to Dnipro away from home but won 3-0 at home!

Theres a player for St.Pats called Neil Bayliss around the 2015/16 season, buy him and use him as your AMC.He will rule the LOI assists and goal scoring charts for a few years.Singlehandedly won me the league with them.

I got GUFC to the CL group stages on it....was delighted
Just finished the first season- a storming success. Got Harps to second (Bohs ran away with it but the rest were tightly bunched) and won the cup with an unlikely victory over Bohs who had whipped me in the three league games. Sets things up nicley for the first year in the new ground.
Better than any of that, I finally managed to get somebody to take Stuart Malcolm off me, although Davy Byrne continues to be a drain on my all too scarce resources.

March 2nd 2012 in my game now. Just played my 1st match in the Premier Division with Kildare County after 3 seasons in the First Division..Drew 1-1 with Shams which was a great result I think.
Drogs got taken over by a Croatian group and they are splashing the cash.
This off season they have bought:
Derek Cooper(Bradford) - 375k
Michael Potts(Blackburn) - 1.8m
Marc Albrighton(Villa) - 2.4m
Adam Rooney(Inverness) - 1.8m
Harry Forrester(Villa) - 1.3m
Wage bill of around 70k per-week!
I've got a 5.57k per-week wage bill...
i have managed villa in football manager and forrester and albrighton are wonder kids in it. So can imagine how good they would be for drogs0after a few years ha

Have you checked if they have been taken over by a consortium or something?
Bohs wouldn't have that much to spend otherwise .

So whats the best player you have seen come through the youth ranks of a League of Ireland team in Football Manager?
Striker called Mark Powell has come through the ranks of Cork City, he's 19 now. Absolute quality and was sold to Birmingham in the Championship for just over E300k.
Been at the club for 2 weeks, has played 2 games and scored 2. I pray for someone like him to come through the youth ranks of Kildare. Sitting 8th in the Premier in September and struggling for goals.
So I had a brilliant first season with Harps and have made a very solid start to the second- yet I'm described as an 'under-pressure' manager? WTF?
It freaks me out a bit as in FM2008 I had two good years with Eastleigh, then got sacked due to a bug in the game. What a waste of time that was!

Same as me. With Dundalk I won the 1st div in my first season, avoided relegation in 2nd and won the prem in my third.
Maybe it's the fact that the local football journo absolutely hates me for some reason.

Okay I've released an Irish Stadium Pack (these show up as background images in your game) that features:
All Premier Division Stadia
All First Division Stadia
Croke Park
Buckley Park
Gannon Park
Download Link 1: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=FXA58QY5 (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=FXA58QY5)

Having a awful season 4 in early june and have only won 4 games drew 5 and lost the rest, knocked out in 2nd round of league cup and have 1 win , 1 draw and 1 loss in all ireland cup. Just hoping for a decent euro cup run to get team spirt going again
