Unless you deleted them the files you downloaded should still be there, all you need to do is re-install them

Started a new game with Leeds there the other day after a long while of no FM.
I remember why I love this game.

Yep:)
Just finished season 2010 with Derry and here's how the table went:
http://img17.imageshack.us/img17/7897/90849514.jpg (http://img17.imageshack.us/my.php?image=90849514.jpg)
I went into the last game 3pts clear playing overs away, and if Bohs won and I lost they would have won the league on GD. I was duffed 3-0 but luckily Bohs drew 1-1 with Sporting Fingal to hand me the title. Pat Fenlon got a warning for complaining about having a goal disallowed:D

currently doing a season with havant & waterlooville. I got them up to league 2 and i spent nothing
Signed alot of LOI players like Paul Marney,Shane Duggan, Morgan Cranley etc
Have quit playing FM09 because I genuinely think it's a bit crap and gone back to FM05, so much more fun to be honest
Anyway I came in to post these two responses on a thread on another forum re: the angriest you've ever been playing the game as they genuinely had me in tears of laughter
The angriest response to the game I've seen was from a pal of mine.
He's become convinced of the game's cheating "first shot sydrome" whereby if you were a better team, you could batter an opposition and them out of nowhere their first effort on goal would fly in. He'd whinged at me for ages about this, but I ignored the guy (as you do...)
Then one day arriving at his house, he answered the door with countless sheets of paper. He'd gone through EVERY SINGLE match report that year to see what happened to his first shot on goal and what happened to his opponents'. He claimed have conclusive proof (from about 60 matches or more) that the computer was 3 times as likely to score with its first shot.
I had no response to a spitting mad statto. Not much you can say.
Was playing the old CM3. Using Fulham and brought them up from lord knows what division to the Prem League. After about 4 or 5 season in the Prem I've got an amazing team, and am leading Liverpool by 3 points with a +5 goal difference advantage over them.
For the final game of the season I'm beating QPR 2-0 at halftime. Job done I thought.
Full time score. QPR 5 - 2 Fulham. Liverpool won their match as well, 2 - 0 and win the Prem on goal difference.
I was angry enough as it was and was contemplating what to smash up in my room until I read the Liverpool match report. Goal times: 90 and 90.
Ended up just ejecting the CD from the computer, going to the garage and going to town smashing on it with my dad's hammer, tears streaming from my face, screaming obscenaties while I did it.

You probably just don't "get it", its great (FACT....You can take that to the bank too!) , playing a game with Stevenage at the moment and going great guns, promoted back into the football league after the 1st season, signed Colin Murray & Eoin Powerdly from Kildare and they appear to be superstars in the making

Always sign Murray as well if I'm managing lower leagues. Been a super player for me.

I'm pretty sure I read about him on here, he wouldn't sign at the start of the season so I had to wait until the January window, his stats aren't all that hot but he plays brilliantly
Murray at centre half, an Irish boy named Danny Earls at left full and Powderly on the left wing is where all of my best play comes from, also signed 2 boys from Northern Irish teams.....Robbie Crawford & Stephen Dooley...both making big leaps...when starting with a lower league side the Ireland is the place to shop!
Zavon Hines from West Ham (or is that Fulham? can't remember) did wonders for me on loan at AFC Wimbledon for two consecutive promotions to the Football League. He was then released and I picked him up and he was quality in League Two and quite good in League One as well.
Could be worth checking him out

In the middle of a great game with Derry- won the double in my second year and got through 3 round in europe, only getting narrowly knowcked out by Torino in the 4th Qual Round. However, our internet has packed in this week and I've been outraged to find "Steam" won't allow me to use FM without- even working offline it is still demanding my activation code which is obv no good as it can't be activated without internet access.

If you install the game from the disc and copy across your saved game and play it that way you can avoid needing the internet.

Got knocked out in 4th Qual Round with Galway United, 4-1 on aggregate against Spartak Moscow. Had beaten Floriania (Malta), TNS (Wales) and Genclerbirligi (Turkey) up to that.

In my current game, I've won the World Cup (4-3 on pens against Spain) and Copa America (3-2 in extra time against Brazil) with Argentina befpre switching to River Plate and winning three domestic titles there.
Won the league with Galway Utd twice in 5 years.Made the big move across the water to Southend:p and took them into the playoffs in The Championship but lost in the semi final to Charlton..New season starting now and its promotion or bust.I want to manage Ireland one day.Does anyone know how much experience you need?It goes by your reputation doesnt it?Mine is ok but you probably need a very good one to get a national side???

I have often felt like doing over results with Waterford United. The actual Waterford United.

National is a must but Continential usually, but they normally just hire Dave O'Leary anyway
Yes,i noticed he got it after Stan quit.
Managing a Championship side is hard.Teams change their formation midway through a match ALOT.So now i started doing the same.so hard to find a good f*cking 20 goal a season man,ive 2 strikers with "finishing" of 17 and they are both SH*TE:(My training for them is set at "intensive" for shooting,is that too much??)

Constantly bangs them in.
Signed him halfway through my 3rd season with Leeds, he got 9 in 14 and 24 overall for the season.

I might cry. Every time I enter my reactivation key is says: "We were unable to process your unlock request."
My transfer budget in my first year at Derry was something like £14,000. I had just been given a budget of £1.2M at the start of my 3rd season and I'm worried I'll never see my Derry game again :(

Brazilian Striker called Josimar, brilliant player. Won player of the year 2 years running and had scored 62 in 81.
If your down in the Blue Square North/South, look for Serge Dim Etong, he got a good few goals for my team, free transfer of course :)

When I was younger I had a bit of a temper! Was playing cm 00/01. Lost the league on the last of the season, conceding a last minute goal. I was p1ssed of to say the least. Our old computer was fairly durable, so I gave it a number of smacks, and I may also have spat on the screen:o I looked out the window, and who was standing there but my mum:eek::D

How to add facepacks to your game:
Download from the link above.
These need to be added to a folder within the user data folder called 'graphics'. The folder may already be there or it may need to be created - do that if you need to. So for example in Windows XP it would be:
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2009\graphics\
Simply drag your extracted folder from step 1 into the graphics folder. Faces need to be within the 'graphics' folder but it does not matter exactly where they are placed. You can organise things into sub-folders to keep your faces neat. For instance you could have a 'faces' sub folder within 'graphics'. Within that you might have sub folders for the different coutries, then within those the different leagues, and so on. Graphics you've downloaded are often already in some sort of order too.
One thing to watch out for when organising are files called config.xml. These are vital and should not be mixed and matched. A set of .png graphics will come with a config.xml that is unique to them in the same folder. Make sure they stay together, in the same folder and that new png files or config.xml files are not added or overwritten into their folder.

Have started playing fm09 again recently, probably the most enjoyable I've found it. In my second season (I'm managing bohs and QPR). I'm one game away from the champions league group stages with Bohs (lost the away leg 2-1). Meanwhile derry city beat ASSE 2-1 in the home leg of the last round of qualifying for the EURO Cup. Unfortunately the likes of Deegan and Murphy won't sign new contracts, but making the champs league might change their minds! The league is all over the shop atm. Shams have played 25 games whereas derry have played 19. I'm winning but not my that much as I have had some shaky performances. Injuries have been a c**t at times as well. I was missing my 4 strikers at one stage. After rejecting a rake of bids for jayo Byrne, I eventually sold him for 375k. I brought in Burgess and Farren but the latter has been absolutely muck.
Finished mid-table last season with QPR. Got a waaaay smaller budget this season but have a good squad (rakes of random foreigners included!) so hopefully I can make a push for promotion even though the bookies have me at 40/1 for the title.
edit: Yee haw, qualified for the group stages:D Had 9 games in 24 days though!!

Just got FM back working again after 6 weeks without it. Sat down and spent about 2 hours wading through help forums to get the problem sorted.
Anyway can anyone recommend a good creative midfielder/right-back/left-back for my Derry City team? I'm in season 2010, with a budget of £1.1M.
