Paul you should look at the Bust from Dubrovnik to Pod as we have a bus organised and its 11 euro return and we have 4 places left on it.
How big is the bust and has it paid?

[quote=paul_oshea;958170]In fairness to babysis and GT, more than interested doesn't pay for a bus. Not havnig a go mayo_bhoy at you necessarily but there are a lot on here who sound like the kind of ones who would say ya, and then you go organise a bus and they dont show, leaving someone else to foot the bill.
QUOTE]
Believe me i would not be in that category. I oranise all our away trips and know exactly what a hassle it is trying to collect money etc. I was just expressing an interest in case anyone else organises a bus later on when i have confirmed numbers.
Likewise ive done this before often, now I charge double the cost, so a half full bus still is ok and good value, if we fill everyone gets a price reduction and is happy

Without having to read through 13 pages with a hangover on a Sunday, can someone advise me if I wanted to book now whats the best way of getting there. I think ill take the week off work and take in both Montenegro and Georgia.
Would really appreciate good information.

Fly ryanair to Riga, spend a night in Riga and then fly to Tiblisi with Baltic Air. You can then get the return from Tiblisi to Riga with Baltic Air again. Baltic Air also fly to Talinn from Riga. Getting to Talinn from Dubrovnik with Estonia Air is the key then and you will arrive in Dubrovnik on Tuesday. We have arranged a bus from Dubrovnik on the Wednesday and there are 4 places left.
Flying home is up to you but Aer Lingus fly from Dubrovnik to Dublin and Cork I think.

Fri 05/09/08 Riga - Tiblisi (Air Baltic)
Sun 07/09/08 Tiblisi - Riga (Air Baltic)
Sun 07/09/08 Riga -Talinn (Air Baltic)
Sun 07/09/08 Talinn - Dubrovnik (Estonia Air)
Wed 10/09/08 Bus Dubrovnik to Podgorica
Now,
Wheres the party after the game, Podgorica or Dubrovnik?

they are just 2 connections, the first one at 830am would be tight, although as it is through the same airline they would prob wait, at the time it wouldn't let us book the 830am connection(maybe time restrictions) so we are on the later connection leaves vilnuis about noon and gets to Riga about 1.30pm, just have a bit of a wait about vilnius airport between the 2 flights(time to sleep/eat)
Also if the flight from Dublin gets into Vilnius and it is possible to get on the 0830 flight i'm going to ask can we get on it. No harm asking

GT, Vilnius airport is not the most exciting place to spend a few hours......it's only slightly bigger than Knock!

BTW how far is dubrovnik from pod? I hear its about 60 yoyos in a taxi?!
As far as I know it's only about 80 or 90 miles but the drive apparently takes about 3 hours as the roads twist and turn an awful lot. There is also a boat ride on the journey which will also take up a bit of time.

Does anyone know when they will announce the kick off time for the match against Montenegro. Generally I thought they had to announce it 2 or 3 months in advance of the match. I presume as it is a Wednesday match it will kick off at 7 or 7.30.

I reckon it'll be an evening kick off alrite, they might KO around 8 or 9 to allow for the time difference and accomodate the TV companies

They have to announce the venue 60 days in advance, not sure about kick off time.
Normally it's 1945 GMT but can vary to suit TV. Depends who's paid the most for tv rights and what other matches if any they are showing on the same day.

I wonder if anyone here might be able to help. I would like to get the ferry from Split to Ancona at 21.00 the day after matchday (11th Sept). I need to know if there is an early bus from Podgorica, how long it would take, is it even possible or can someone suggest somewhere I could look. Cheers

www.visit-montenegro.com (or .yu.cg; can't remember) has phone numbers for all the bus stations. I e-mailed them about a timetable from Podgorica to Kotor and they replied back saying I had to ring the station.
Alternatively, try a travel forum like the Lonely Planet one.

Its an hour and a half to Dubrovnik and 4 and half hours to Split so I should make the 21.00 ferry if I can get out early and buses go accordingly.
I'm gonna sleep for a week after this trip.

I thought that the drive from Podgorica to Dubrovnik was about 3 hours. I don't think they are that far apart as the crow flies but apparently the roads turn and wind a lot which results in the long driving time. As far as I remember it also involves a ferry ride.

Well done Montenegro. Unlike Wales and Cyprus who ripped us off on tickets while charging their own fans a fraction of the price.

Remember it's there first tournament, they'll learn quickly so enjoy the €7 tickets:D
Worst case I remember was Malta 99? they put the price up from £2 to £20 for the Irish game, local papers even defended them saying they should get every last penny from us.

Good news.........and possibly bad news for those not able to obtain a ticket in the Irish end.At those prices the locals will surely be there in force.

I thought that the €7 was the handling charge, and the price of the ticket wasn't announced yet, until I took a closer look!!
A fiver a ticket really but I doubt there'll be too many Montenegrans in Dublin when tickets will cost them 1000% more than what they're paying at home:D
Fair play Montenegran FA.
By the way should the ticket exchange threads be up by now?

Tickets for Iraq v Australia in the World Cup qualifiers recently were $3 (Australian I think) for Arabic speakers and $100 for English speakers!

Two questions -
1. Is there anyone on the flight Aer Lingus Dublin - Dubrovnik on Wednesday 10th September arriving approx 11:45 am?
2. Is anyone staying in Budva that needs transportation to Podgorica and back to Budva on the day of the game? We are running a bus.
Many thanks
