i think now the direct-ish route from aer lingus is booked out to dubrovnik, that will put a lot off.

It's not booked out yet but it is gone up to €427. It pays to book early!

I've been called worse! As for the Dubs comment, harsh but fair.

It appears that all hotels in Podgorica are only taking enquiries and will get back later if space available. Reports and reviews I've read so far seem to indicate that there's not a lot to do in Podgorica
Our gang are looking at staying in Budva. There's a distinct lack of info on any (public or private) transport so we are going to hire a car on arrival to get there. We'll keep the car to get to match with a designated driver (wonder who ) and also to travel to Dubrovnik for flight home.

Montenegro only has commercial rail links with Serbia, so this looks like a nightmare of planes, trains, and automobiles. Staying in Dubrovnik/Belgrade for most of the time looks a decent bet, and just going in to Montenegro for the game.

Why couldn't we get the Northern Ireland (Czech Republic/Slovakia/Poland) group? At least you'd know where you'd be going. :(

Easy with the Dubs comments, like everywhere we have our scumbags. And I thought we all only went for the drink cos the football is usually garbage. Why would anyone want to video their train journey??

It's looking bleak if you want to go to Montenegro. All hotel rooms in Podgorica that can be booked online are gone. The other hotels require that you email a reservation request, but I'm getting no reply from them. Presumably because they are all booked up too?

Does anybody reckon they will be flying straight into Podgorica or is the flight to Dubrovnik forst generally considered the better option? its not going to be cheap getting to podgorica from dubrovnik. €200 for a taxi anyway.
cheers

We are flying direct into Podgorica, but we are some of the lucky ones to secure Hotel space

If there are numbers available I'd ring the hotels and hope there is someone there that speaks English.

Well lads

After been reading this forum for about 2 and a half to 3 years and finally decided to post on it!! Blues supporter all my life

Anyway after booking flights and apartment for the Montenegro game. Sunday to Friday. Had the same problem with trying to get somewhere in podgorica so the 4 have us have decided to base ourselves in Dubrovnik. Got a deadly apartment in the old town on the harbour for €40 per night. www.dubrovnikapartmentsource.com (http://www.dubrovnikapartmentsource.com/) Problem his getting to Podgorica for the game!! By any chance is there anyone on here or know of anyone organizing a large bus to the game? Cheapest so far is €200 for a taxi

Tried to do the Tbilisi game but too muck f**k acting around with flights…..

not a hope at the moment!! not going to take the chance of been double booked!! hotels over there wont give a dam!! can see plenty sleeping in lobbies with rooms over booked!! this place is supposed to be 10 times worse than bratislava and we all know how bad that was but fun :D:D

judging by some of the posts here most of ye have made alternative arrangments of getting to Podgorica....

if there is a bus going and a mystery tour involved count the 4 of us in!! :D

If worst comes to the worst you could set up camp. Done it in Stuttgart in September. Didn't manage to get the tent up properly but who cares when your drunk? It will be boiling down there at that time. here is a link with camp sites and hotels also

There should be alot of family stay accomodation on offer in Podgorica*. It's always nice to have accomodation booked in advance but even fans without a reservation shouldn't prevent them from travelling as there will be offers of room space while they are there. The only concern is how far is the accomodation away from the centre of things.

I e-mailed 2 hotels yesterday in Podgorica (2 that said 2 months ago that I'd have to wait til' August to book!) and what a surprise.... they are booked out for the week of the match.

Have everything else sorted for the 2 games apart from accomodation in Podgorica so it's quite annoying when that happens.

We're thinking now of basing ourselves on the coast but preference would be to stay in Pod.

Has anyone else booked accom. there recently?? Cheers??

I like alot of people here emailed all the hotels in Podgorica and i got confirmation in one hotel but then got another email from the same hotel telling me they are booked out a few days later. We are now going to use Dubrobnik as a base.

Do you know, the exact same thing happened to me.
Sod it, i'm going to stay on the Montenegro coast, accommodation is plentiful there. According to various travel websites, public buses to Podgorica are regular but i'd say it will be difficult getting back after an evening kick off. If anyone doing the same thing would be interested in sharing a taxi, give me a shout.

Sure beats the price for Podgorica. It's on the rail line to Pod and it takes just about an hour. Also close to Bar. I'm out at 05.30 on thursday, so I don't think I'll bother with a hotel in Podgorica.

First time to post. I am interested in heading over to the game in Montenegro. Could someone please tell me id the match being played in Dubrovnik or in Podgorica and how far are each cities from each other. From having read through the posts taxis seem to be expensive so I might e-mail the person above and see whether he would provide a bus.

Secondly what is the capacity of the stadium and what allocation will we get and will it be difficult to get a ticket. It seems that there is a big interest in the game from reading the posts. Cheers

Dubrovnik is in Croatia so the game was never going to be there It is in Podgorica. It is about 2 hours between the cities.
