Just a question lads.Im not too familiar with travelling away but am making the trip to Montenegro, and just wanted to know will it be hard to get my hands on a match ticket as Im not a block booker.A few of my mates are guaranteed tickets and was just wondering how I would go about getting one.Cheers

Check the FAI website for tickets around July as they will have a form to apply for tickets. First tickets will go to the block bookers who travel and after that they will be sold to the rest who want to go. Also keep an eye out here and there maybe ways of buying tickets for the Montenegro end but its too early to answer any of this at the moment.

if you're after just one ticket, i wouldn't worry. It's always the same with every away game but we always end up with tickets. The minute a list comes on here, get your name on it and apply to the FAI also as posted here in a few months. You'll find you prob get one from other fans in hotel over there or will be able to buy them out there.

the way it works is you book you flights and then worry about tickets. its the only way to go.
Given the fact that the stadium only holds 12000, i reckon ticktets could be tough for this one. there seems to be quite a few people going on this one.

Your mates are not guaranteed tickets. The ground only holds about 12,000. As the away support we are allocated 10% of the capacity so that's 1,200. So if more than 1,200 block-bookers apply then demand will exceed supply. Personally I'd say about 3,000 block bookers will be after tickets so you may have to source yout ticket elsewhere. As other people have stated here though, you never know if you have a match ticket until a few weeks before the game, so you always book your trip in the hope you'll get sorted. Nine times out of ten it works out fine so if I were you I'd just go and book it.

Absolutely. Myslef and GT have gone to a few away games with out tickets and it always ends up being fine. There is often a mad panic that people wont get tickets but it usually works itself out. Like GT said keep an eye on here as its a great way of getting tickets.

hmmm, is this thier first home match?! For some reason i thought there stadium held 18000, lets say we bring 4 or 5,000, id say there could be quite a few stranded out there without any tickets given this is a new footballing nation....

Midweek in september.
Their 2nd home game.
Not a glamour tie.
Will not be a massive crowd travelling as its too "awkward".
No problem getting tickets

Cannot see us taking 4 or 5,000...more like 2,000 It's a midweek game and not the cheapest trip to make ( even if you haven't done the Georgia one earlier )
However, I do agree it might be one of the more difficult of recent away trips to secure tickets.

hornet, its early september, new era, new country, no one has been to montenegro before, still warm. I can see a lot of people going to this, probably not 5k though. But few are going to go to georgia, this would be the first bigish trip of the campaign.

Read the thread lazy
It appears that all hotels in Podgorica are only taking enquiries and will get back later if space available. Reports and reviews I've read so far seem to indicate that there's not a lot to do in Podgorica
Our gang are looking at staying in Budva. There's a distinct lack of info on any (public or private) transport so we are going to hire a car on arrival to get there. We'll keep the car to get to match with a designated driver (wonder who ) and also to travel to Dubrovnik for flight home.

Yeah, im hoping to do something similar and stay in Kotor. I'm assuming they drive on the right in Montenegro? Might look into hiring a car myself, thought i havent driven since the day i passed my test over two years ago!

I doubt it will be much more than 1.5K. It's hard to get to; it's expensive (the Dubrovnik route has been closed due to the Tans visiting Croatia, and the Bari option is more aggro than it's worth) with plane tickets now nearly €400; it's midweek; it's the start of the campaign rather than a make or break game or a playoff; and as far as I know there isn't anyone on the Montenegro side who plays for either Liverpool or Manchester (correct me iof I'm wrong on the last one). Judging this with our midweek visits to Romania in 1997, or to Belgrade in 1998, this is not a game I would have thought many fans fancy.

It is a hard one to call, i'd say you get a few arseholes, but not as many as ITaly, Cyprus and Bulgaria (much easier to get to)
I'd say Majik's mates will find it hard to find a tacky red light zone so they may as well stay at home or go to Prague for the few days.
Anyway, for those interested in the football and to find their way about the city etc....this map is great thanks to the kind help of 2 Montenegro posters on virtual tourist. Hvala lepo! :D
